Tinu Verma is a popular action director having worked in films like Khuda Gawah, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Aankhen, Himmat, Jeet, Kachche Dhaage & Raja Hindustani among others. However, many people may know him as the shirtless antagonist Gujjar Singh in Aamir Khan, Twinkle Khanna & Faisal Khan starrer 2000 dud Mela.
Recently, in an interview with Mukesh Khanna for his RU-vid channel, Verma recalled the time he slapped Saif Ali Khan in the presence of Ajay Devgn during the shooting of Kachche Dhaage (1999). He said that while shooting for an action sequence for the film involving a train, Saif Ali Khan missed the cue multiple times resulting in wasting a lot of time for the other actors including Ajay Devgn and crew members.
When he asked Saif about the reason why he didn’t move after hearing “Action”, the actor replied that he was enjoying the bumps in the train. This casual attitude & unprofessionalism of Saif while shooting an important sequence angered Tinu Verma so much that he slapped him in front of the whole cast & crew. When Ajay tried to intervene, Verma even warned him to not interrupt in between.
