Action Jackson is one of my favorite movies of all time. Carl Weathers is a living legend. He could have easily competed with Stallone and Swarzaneggar if he had more lead roles like Action Jackson. Dillon, Action, Apollo Creed whatever you want to call him put some respect on his name. I had a serious crush on Vanity and its a shame that she passed. She was so beautiful. This movie is criminaly underated. It's definitely 80s cheese but is awesome in its own way. In a time when movies like Kung fury and other 80s stuff such as Stranger things have become insanely popular movie's like this remind me of a better time in Cinema. Thanks for the upload 👍

When we were in elementary school, he brought the middle school band to our assembly and my friend said "holy shit the band leader looks just like Apollo Creed!" so naturally as we graduated to middle school and Weathers became bigger he became "Action Jackson the band leader". and it was a compliment because the band leader, Mr. Long, was 66 at the time. If Billy D and Weathers were brothers, this guy was their father lol

I saw this movie recently for the first time expecting it to suck, and I was surprised how good it was. Of course, lots of 80s cheesiness. But the cheesy aspect was done to perfection in the 80s. It's what made the action movies of the time so good. You just can't go wrong with Sharon Stone, Carl Weathers and Vanity in the same movie.

Never saw? "Now you've pissed me off!" This is an absolute classic 80's action film that begged to be a franchise. Carl Weathers is a legit legend, and I still have a tatty VHS copy I bought decades ago (along with the DVD). It's the epitome of a must see film if you have an interest in action cinema.

As always. the lead character was so relatable that the action itself played a minor role to me (too many films with this tropes). But Carl Weathers has a very good charisma and I wished he had done more movies like this (great to see him now in "The Mandalorian" again). I remember that Whoopie Goldberg joked with him in a Michael Jackson video: "we should film together calling it "Action Jumping Jackson Flash", right?" (she had a hit with the movie "Jumping Jack Flash" which was great too.)

Oh gosh! Great film. Great job, Carl! Should have been a few sequels. And having the awesome Vanity in tow raised the stock 1000%. Do something with a sequel type, folks.

Probably inspired *"Action Hank"* in *"Dexter's Laboratory."* Plus, Joel Silver produced action films were the shit. 👍😎👍 And I think the villain should have been Powers Boothe in this. Only because he was a scary looking dude in the first place. *RIP*

@@Geronimo_Jehoshaphat Sadly, he turned down many offers and moved on. In 1994 he joined the cast in MGM's Blue Sky under Stephen Hopkins' direction after many directors who were either left go or being fired for a lot of reasons.

The bar was so high for action films in the 80s this has mostly been forgotten. I don't care that much for the movie but the cast is AWESOME. It's like a who's who of heroes and villains, good looking actresses and so forth. That's it's reddeming qualities. It was really the best generation of actors for this type of genre. It can't be recreated.
