Update: If this video has helped you out in any way and you would like to drop me a donation.. The appreciation would really go a long way in helping me to keep creating! As always, thank you! Venmo> @Ruben-CastJr
Same thing happened to my 18 scatpack. I took it to the dealer and they greased it up. Thank you for the video now I know I can do it myself. By the way the dealership didn't care that I cut my mufflers off.
ALERT!!!! Just found a little hack that’ll help guys who are afraid to fully take off the actuators and reinstall the springs correctly. Loosen up the three bolts holding on the actuator. DO NOT FULLY TAKE OFF THE ACTUATORS OR YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT THEM ON CORRECTLY. Next, grab your grease (in a can same as video), put on the red straw attachment to the nozzle. Now there will be a gap big enough for the straw to fit. Now just fill up the actuator spring until the White lithium grease oozes out the sides. Do that to both. Now tighten up the actuators. Once done, use auto start or just start up your car about 4 times to get the actuator flap moving. Once done, shoot just a little more in the gap. After doing this, the insane squeaking stopped completely. It was so distinct on auto startup that it was embarrassing lol. Now, nothing. Smooth as factory show room. YOURE WELCOME. You won’t get no codes, no holes in the wall for being pissed about the spring install, no curse words. Just easy. Took me all of 15 minutes tops. No check engine light neither from inserting the spring incorrectly.
Mike T That’s awesome! Always good to see people improving things. Now if Dodge could just lubricate this up from the factory correctly we wouldn’t be needing to do this. I remember the squeaking started up after doing a burn out and popping tons of smoke. No one else it seemed to bother, but I felt too annoyed and embarrassed to drive. I’m just glad it didn’t cost me a ton of money!
WOW ..... this is exactly what I was trying to figure out. That damn squeak noise everytime I accelerate was killing me...I hope this is it. Great video !!!!!!!!!!!! Challenger REDEYE
I had the same problem after I did a mid muffler delete. The squeaking noise got so annoying I added active valve kit as well. The noise stop completely, and I'm very happy with it.
Update: Almost 12 months later and the noise still hasn’t came back! No need to spend hundreds on some aftermarket crap to make the noise go away, this certainly did the trick and you will not be disappointed, I promise!
Thank you so much for this video! My R/T is doing the same thing. It's obnoxious. I got the mfer-1 mod and it made it quieter, but it's still there. Definitely trying this tonight!
I have a 2015 392 and drive in track mode most of the time because of the squeak. I've also noticed it's gotten a lot more noticeable over the past couple of months. I might try this and see if that works.
Hey I’m not sure if it’s true but I just saw a video that only on the 2019 model if you take off the actuators pull the spring out and wire the valves open and put the actuators back with out the spring you won’t get a code but like I said I’m not sure if it’s true I’m trying it today
Update: Today is March 9, 2020. It’s been almost 16 months and the noise is still gone. The noise happened about at around 2k miles, and I have 9.6k miles on her now., so about 7k more miles and 16 months have gone by with no noise. Hope this helps!
Nice ! I’m having this issue with my 16 Scatpack . I was going to buy the active exhaust valve delete kit for like 170 bucks lol . Ima try this first !
Thank you I already had set a appointment at the dealer to look at this I got a muffler delete and reso delete full straight pipe I just gone have them spray first I ain’t trying to get a new whole exhaust
Yooo I saw you the other day over by Victoria Gardens, I have the Octane Red ‘17 Charger RT. It’s got 909 Mopars on the front and rear window with Cool Arrow Images. Bad ass ride brother
The exhaust isn’t covered by the warranty. Even the extended platinum warranty. So you wouldn’t have voided anything by taking it in. I am going to get the grease and try this. Thank you.
Bro great video man! So I got a 2018 RT and just ran codes today because my check engine light came on and it says active exhaust valve 2 performance! And that the only code that popped up… did this issue cause your check engine light to be on as well???
It’s a good thing you didn’t let them change your exhaust I did and mine just doesn’t sound the same after they were like oh this is one of the quiet ones and I was so pist off bro I was like it wasn’t quiet when I bought it that’s why I got it and there telling me there’s nothing they can do now I didn’t even want them to replace it I had to get a new transmission after 1900 miles but they changed my exhaust first and ruined the sound completely there was nothing wrong with the original exhaust but the new 1 is quiet and Squeals now
I got the same issue. Been driving around in sport mode to avoid hearing it. I’m gonna try this fix this weekend though. Thanks for the video. Had the issue returned at all?
@@motorhead_jt21 lmao my friends dont hear it either, but yeah that shit pisses me off I'm gonna try what this guy was doing in the video and see if this fixes the problem, if not my warranty is still good, but I did a resonator delete on it, and put new mufflers on so I hope they dont pull some bullshit and say it's because I modified my exhaust, because it was making the noise long before I did that
Mine sounds like it’s opening and closing when I’m in normal/street mode. Whenever I stop at red lights I hear it clicking on itself, plus it rattles when I accelerate. I do have a mid muffler delete. Any recommendations??
Was the sound kind of a rattle from the exhaust? I asked the dealership to check the actuators the other day and like you said they said I need a whole new exhaust! I have the mid muffler delete also and this fix would be awesome.
liltex07 The sound you are looking for is more of a whistle than a rattle if you ask me. It is synchronous to the push of the peddle when you rev the engine when the car is on. It does it in park or drive. As for the rattle, there is a rattle on the back end of the exhaust sound when you rev up the engine, but I’ve heard that same sound on all dodges if that’s what you are talking about. I would do this fix first before taking it to the dealership just see if it it remedies your sound that you are hearing . Otherwise you take the chance of replacing your exhaust and the rattle still be there, but at the same time your out the money for the mid delete. Dealerships are being very scandalous right now with the economy how it is and will do anything to make a dollar even if that is telling a lie to a consumer, believe I used to work for one. Up to 80 percent of of the dealership is made by the maintenance shop. My advice do everything you can to eliminate any ands ifs or buts before you get there!
K BRYAN I assume I probably got a code when pulling the fuse to the valves as I did get a check engine light. But I think the check engine light reset after disconnecting the battery for about 15 m.
That’s different most likely. The issue this guy is having is every time he steps on the gas and opens up that active exhaust valve, it squeaks. It can be verified by putting your car in sport mode and listening for the sound. If it’s an active exhaust valve issue, then you won’t hear the squeak in sport due to the valves already being locked open.
Halfway through your video it stops playing ...it seems to want to load but it doesnt. I'd like to finish watching your video. How is this fix worked out for you until now?
If you unhooked the battery, it will be on until you on off cycle a number of times, or you can try just unhooking the battery cables again fo 15m. That should reset the error codes.
Did this work for your check engine light? Mine didn't come on the first time i started it after I put the fuse back in but it came on the second start up and stayed on?
I have the same issue but mines wasn’t deleted so they replaced my exhaust with a brand new one. Then that one also had the issue so the dealer contacted Chrysler and they said it’s normal i was like wtf i only have 1200 miles on my vehicle what do you mean it’s normal for my exhaust to sound like shit. So dealer unplugged my actuator and the check engine light is on and i can’t use the remote start.. i guess we just have to all complain to Chrysler.
That’s BS Chrysler! Mine happened at about 1500 k . Just hit with some grease, I promise you it will work. If your not mechanically inclined just take it to an exhaust shop tell‘ em what you want and have them do it for you. I’m at 4200k now and the squeal has not come back.
@@shanebanich1498 no solution for that bruh.... sorry. Inky a temporary at best. I've had charger scat and now I have challenger srt 392. Did MEFR-1 and don't worry about that anymore.
Mine happened around 2k and than became more noticeable as time rolled on. I couldn't drive that way, it was a litlle embarrassing for me knowing that it was a brand new vehicle. Since i did this the noise has not came back.
lliikkeeaabbooss the dealership will tell you it’s normal for the transmission to leak at 1900 miles to so you’ll have to get a second opinion with out hurting the warranty and take document of some kind with the second opinion for them to consider actually fixing it plus making a stink helps alittle
