RIP Dennis as the world has lost a great bloke and actor. I met Dennis in the a bar in a hotel in the center of Leeds, where he was relaxing after filming. Great bloke, and we closed the bar to boot!

These two actor's really complimented each other!!! Waterman and Cole AKA Terry McCann and Arthur Dailey two of the British greats of the 70s & 80s I'm up at 6am watching minder then the Sweeney straight after most mornings I absolutely love it!!!! TV gold never to be repeated inmo 🇬🇧 👍
A wonderful actor and a genuinely lovely man. He started his career in 1960 at the age of 12. His first major TV series was in BBC Television's Just William in 1962. In 1975, he became a household name as John Thaw's capable sidekick in Thames Television's The Sweeney. After that, he was thrown together with George Cole for the first 7 series of Minder from 1979 until 1989. In 1989, he starred opposite Jan 'Just Good Friends' Francis in Stay Lucky and a year later, like John Thaw, he made a surprise jump to sitcom with On the Up, his first work for the BBC in almost 30 years. After that, it would be a decade before he had another hit TV series. In 2003, he made his big comeback to our screens with New Tricks, remaining a regular cast member until the early 2010s. He also appeared in programmes such as Special Branch and Paul Temple. He passed away in 2022 at the age of 74. God rest his soul Thanks for this ❤ 😊
His brother Peter was a British champion boxer but when he finished boxing fell on hard times and needed help with health issues he used to come to the charity for ex pro fighters for help and assistance I used to talk to him a lot he’s t v star brother never helped him in anyway to get help or financially and Peter would never asked him shouldn’t have to ask but nice man Dennis just turned his back and didn’t want to know what a luvley brother

Goodbye Dennis Waterman. You were Jack Reagan’s sidekick in The Sweeney and Arthur Daley’s sidekick in Minder and no-one’s sidekick in New Tricks. Sometimes, though, you came in for a good kicking. You used to say ‘Guvnor’ quite a lot… but now the ‘Big Guvnor’ in the sky has given you an order.
Yes there all going one by one but this guy will leave a big hole in the British acting world,will miss dearly,have all the minder on DVD,some sweeny,all of new tricks, god bless him
She liked playing the victim. Remember she also gave as good as she got . She liked to drink aswell and was pretty much a unknown and not very good actress when she hitched her wagon . But people like you will always speak ill of the dead . What have you done to make yourself so perfect. Nothing! That's why no one's heard of you ?
He admitted his shame for it live ' he was going through a very stressful time and lost control ' but he was by no means a violent sadistic sort ' it can happen to anyone in extreme situations ' he had his faults like any human being.
