If the top 1 actor getting paid like 200 crore something, the actor at the top 10 will expect to be paid in 20 crore. It will also affect the whole industry and other technicians (Directors, actress, music directors, cinematographer) will also expect to paid in more. And Producers doing the same mistakes again & again, they try to book the stars in a row for 3 or 4 films by offering more money than their actual worth. ( Like Vels did with Simbhu, Boney Kapoor did with Ajith) And finally they are doing movies to recover the budget only, not for the story.

Thing that Indian film industry bcoz people idolising the hero where Hollywood fans sees movie as a movie. In simple terms quality/content creates hype in Hollywood but in India hero/heroine face value creates hype. In Hollywood no matter how big the hero if content/quality lags people never hesitate to criticise the movie.
For now, Thalapathy Vijay is one of the most paid hero in indian cinema.. Nowadays his normal movie without any hype and North promotions, he able to achieve ₹400cr +.so he's right in way for salary.. But it not applied to other actors in kollywood..

This is what A24 studios do. Being a small production firm huge stars act in their movies just to show case their talent. The notable fact is that the actors, directors and other crews cuts down a significant portion of their salary or whatever the income and work in these movies.
What you spoke about from 18:45 onwards is called “soft power”. Hollywood, Anime & K-pop are soft powers for the U.S., Japan & South Korea respectively to shape their country’s perception around the world. I have been observing “mass hero” since “Mersal” in 2017. Some reasons I feel top heroes think they’re justified in charging these massive stories. These movies are usually mid ahh hell. There’s no way these movies would be watched if not for these star actors. Example, “Varisu”. So, the 400cr collection for a below average screenplay is only possible for the producers & directors only because of the star.

But Rajinikanth have actually take 1 rupees or 100 rupees only as advance salary and get the rest of the remuneration after the few days of movie release. I studied game design but I know a lot of my batchmates who studied VFX and now work in the movie industry as VFX artists. Neenga sollura yella points um i one hundred percent agree with!! And coming from someone in the industry in itself is a huge plus! I struggled to believe that this movie with such a high claimed budget had such a dogshit VFX output. Again this is not me dissing the artists because It's the system and ass backwards mindset of directors and producers that is the problem. Ivanunga two weeks before release eh "we are changing the deaging scenes due to the backlash and negative feedback" nu sollum bodhey theirnji pochu mayiru maadhiri dhan output irukkum nu, cannot expect every damn shot to look Oscar worthy even if this change was done 2 months prior let alone 2 weeks!!!!!!!.
