Jordan Walker Ross plays Little James in The Chosen, but his disability in the show is no act. Born with cerebral palsy and scoliosis, Jordan has sometimes questioned God just like his character. But in this video he answers, “If you had the opportunity to be healed this very moment, would you?” and it may surprise you.

I enjoy the show, but I realized there is something you may want to address. Matthias was said to have accompanied Jesus from the time of his baptism through the ascension, and he replaced Judas as an apostle. You might consider somehow writing Matthias into the show to be consistent with the Biblical narrative. God Bless your work and those whom it reaches!

I heard the Joyce Meyer saying, “When you've gone through difficulty and someone needed your help there's a whole new level of understanding and compassion for others, you have what they needed to hear. You can't give to anybody if everything is just theory and never had to put practice. One of the reason God let you go through things is to equip and to qualify you to be in his service.”

This scene is so powerful and personal to me. I have experienced the same thing. I prayed for a woman (workmate) who had been struggling to get pregnant for a decade then God led me to pray for her twice. After a month, she conceived. Then here I am, praying to have a baby for almost 6 years. God used this scene to speak to me. I serve Him not because I need something from Him but because I need Him. I do not see myself living without Jesus, even though it can be tough sometimes, and my faith will be tested. I will not exchange this relationship I have with Jesus for anything.

I read your post and makes me emotional. My sister is struggling to get pregnant. Both have some issues to become pregnant. But what it makes me emotional is your statement about the other woman been bless through your interception and you said, "here I am praying for a baby for almost 6 years... and still your faith still intact because your love for Jesus is not for what you obtain from him" That is powerful. Love God without any expectation, only loves Him for what He is! POWERFUL!

I have relapsing/remitting MS. My hardest time was when symptoms came as weakness in my back and legs that made it impossible to raise myself from my bed or getting from a seated position; and also having difficulty on the inside (could not cough or sneeze or eat easily. I started praying and asking God why I had to struggle with these problems. My answer from Him was, Because the people around you need to learn how to serve others. I learned that this disease wasn't all 'about me' and was happy to bear those difficulties for the two and a half months I struggled with them. And after that I was put on a weekly injection to 'ward off' any further symptoms showing up. After being on that for 25 years my Neurologist told me studies showed that those who had been on it for an extended period and stopped, had no further exacerbations of the disease. I'm now in my 4th year without it! Blessings to you for your portrayal of Little James and his 'malady'.

My mom had severe scoliosis, with an scoliosis shaped curve, It was degenerative, since her youth. Doctors predicted her death from it crushing her organs at the age of 30. She was not supposed to have kids. I was born when she turned 30 and my brother was born when she was 27. As the years progressed , she went from cane, to walker, to manual wheelchair to electric wheelchair to assisted living facility to nursing home. And she just met the Lord March of last year. Throughout my youth, we would beg God to heal her. It shattered my heart watching her pain and suffering over the decades. However, she was a POWERFUL woman of God and little James scene with Jesus , when Jesus tells Him God gets more glory when we still work for Him despite the fact that He has not healed us ,wrecked me. Even though mommy is gone with Him, it makes sense , that scene spoke to my heart and my prayers. GOD ANSWERED, GOD HEALED HER, SHE IS FREE AND this scene with little James made my heart and eyes cry. God bless you and all involved in this show. God loves her and you so much!! God loves us all in different ways. Funny thing is, hen I was 14 I watched her heal a man of a gunshot wound in Jesus name ,God trusted her with the gift of healing even though she needed it herself. In many ways, physical conditions can be a prison. The scene where John the Baptist says “this prison means nothing now that He’s here”…. …if only we could all get there. Get to that point in our faith where nothing can imprison us. Where our desires are so plugged into Him, that nothing else matters, and no physical barrier can hold us back. The story line with little James is so inspiring and meaningful. Thank you Jordan for opening up yourself to us with this. I pray God will continue to use you.

This glimpse really affected me greatly. I’ve basically spent most of my life with some sort of health issue. As a matter fact I was born with spina bifida. I fortunately beat the odds, and even though my parents were told that I would never walk, I did eventually walk. I always tend to be referred to you. Is “that sickly child” even by my own family at times. Some people have felt that I enjoyed the attention gain from my ailments. Which has been far from the truth and I can’t believe that people even some in my family think that. How far from the truth is that? When I met my current husband, five years ago, he asked me a question if I would want to be healed? I told him quite oddly that I didn’t know because I wouldn’t know how to be any other way I’ve been me for now going on 52 years and unfortunately part of me I guess is the fact that I deal with chronic diseases every day of my life, that is chronic diseases don’t defined me, but I can’t deny that they are a part of me. I would be kind of like if somebody told me to suddenly fly that I could jump off a cliff and fly. I would be very hesitant to actually jump off the cliff because it would seems preposterous (and rightly so because of course I’m a human being)that I could in fact fly. I do know, however, that if God ever did chose to heal me, that he would probably provide me with wisdom on how to live, healed physically. But I am, however, satisfied with my relationship with God, and I look at any detriment that I may have as a blessing because I can praise His name! 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻 it’s giving me a perspective that perhaps other people don’t have, and it’s giving me the ability to sympathize and empathize with those around me. And strangely, I am off and thought as on occasion an annoyingly positive person . I think my positivity is a gift from God, and it only stands to affirm my deep faith that God works all things out for good!! 🙏🏻✝️🙏🏻

I cried soooo hard during this scene. I've had extreme pain with autoimmune disease for over 20 years. This this past year, I spent 18 hour days in bed under the influence of pain killers. I really related to Little James in this scene because I've been prayed for many times. I tried to have faith. People accused me of no faith. When this scene finished I prayed to The Lord and told Him to use this if the answer for healing was no. I felt peace in the pain. That sounds weird. Anyway, 35 days ago a niece encouraged me to trust God in changing my eating habits. I won't get into that...but it was an answer from God. The pain is gone. My husband of 48 years said he had his 18 year old wife back! I'm not sure this healing would have happened had I not seen myself in Little James and totally surrendered the outcome for the rest of my life completely to Jesus. Thank you Dallas and all the wonderful actors and crew. You are doing God's work.

That scene of you confronting Jesus, really hit home to me. As a little girl, I set myself on fire and nearly died. I have 3 rd degree scars over 75% of my body. While I feel fortunate it only touched my chin, most of the scarring can be hidden by clothing.I too wondered why I could not receive a miracle. It took me A very long time to except myself and see that I am a miracle. I had a very supportive family and friends. A few kids at school did make fun. But because of my support, I got through it. I am now writing a book about my experiences. God Bless you and keep up the wonderful work in all you do.

I was so touched by the scene with Jesus and Little James. I cried a few tears. So thankful for Jordan's vulnerability, and willingness to be so expressive with his own disability. It's special that he feels it is a part of who he is as a person, and not a disability. So many people (myself included) can relate, and we do as people question why the Lord allows disabilities and illness...why good, God fearing even, people suffer. I actually knew and loved someone like Little James as portrayed in the Chosen. My aunt was severely disabled BUT God gave her the gift of healing. He, through her, performed many miracles. People were healed from cancers, epilepsy and even a raising from the dead - but she remained as she was. I often sought God in prayer, like much of my family, on her behalf. And yes, sometimes in confusion and anger. I couldn't reconcile how He could use her so thoroughly - and use her up - without granting her healing. I remember her saying often, she didn't question God's purpose for her, only trusted and obeyed. She knew that whether He saw fit to heal her on this side of Heaven or the other, He was pleased with her obedience. Finally, He healed her January 17, 2023 - He took her home to be in His rest for eternity. She always said she would dance again. And I firmly believe she is. To God be the glory!

Wow thank you for sharing this. It was definitely not unbelief that kept your aunt disabled, but something in the spiritual world that we just wouldn't understand! I mean, she had this powerful spiritual gift of healing and witnessed miracles, she sure believed that it would be no problem for God to heal her as well. But now, your aunt went like "Ah, I get it now Jesus, I really understand." - while jumping around completely healed. 😁🙌🙌🙌🙌 We should never forget that all miraculous healings of Jesus were very intentional and had a very specific purpose within his mission. And I believe its the same for not being healed right away. After all, healing is wonderful, but just as with everything else, not the most important. What's important is that we stay faithful to Jesus until the end and finish the race well by doing his will here on earth, despite everything.

One of the biggest questions ever is why does God allow suffering. The exploration of Jordan's character and his own health needs is am act of courage and love shared on film by Jordan and The Chosen team portrayed through Little James for others to experience and explore. This interview is a testimony to the blessing that Jordan is and how The Chosen is and will continue to impact lives. Thank You God. I love that they don’t portray these perfect people with the perfect looks because that’s not whom the disciples were. I love the honesty in the frustration and the anger because it’s human! I have those moments with God myself and my Lord never turns His face from me when I am upset with Him. What Father abandons His kids because they’re angry at them?? None! We have all been frustrated with our parents at some point and God is no different. I hadn't known of Jordan's struggle until now. When I saw that scene with Jesus and Little James, I wept with him. My empathy and compassion overflowed. It was so easy to understand how he felt. I saw Jesus' empathy and His effect on Little James. But to hear how Jordan's real life mirrors the real life Little James, what a miraculous synchronicity! I saw this and the tears flowed. Big hugs to you, Jordan. Thank you for being you.

Wow what an amazing testimony that impacts millions. I been on that path being deaf and had gone through trials and fire to where I am today. I was healed by God's hand at age 17. By then, the damage has been done but thanks to God's unrelenting faithfulness and Love I'm still alive and well today. Like what they say, if it doesn't kill you, you'll be stronger. I believe that to be true since God has been on this journey with me since Day 1. Love you all and thank you for being you. God loves us ALL.

Thank you for the interaction that you and Jonathan had. It was powerful and remains powerful to me. I have a muscular dystrophy as well as my son. I’ve played many occasions to take the disease from my son and place it double on me. I asked God where was his glory with a child that has what we have. But what I could not see was the gift of worship my son has. He plays drums at church and is amazing. I missed God’s plans by focusing on the problem and not what He could do regardless of the problem. Your scene spoke to me personally as I’ve always felt inadequate. I love working with children in teaching to them and working with the worship team in the AV area for the kids worship. I know God has given me this gift of teaching but I never felt like I could be accepted. I’ve cling to Paul’s words of asking for thorn to be removed and it never was. I don’t talk you’re work as gospel but I do believe God can use a donkey to speak to us so He can use this show to also speak to us. God bless you, Dallas and the team for bringing the Bible to visualization in such a powerful way.

This hits so hard. After years as a critical care RN, I became unable to work after being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and several other issues. I had struggled with scoliosis since childhood and, as an adult active in my church, I had numerous people tell me that I didn't have enough faith, or even had committed some sin I hadn't repented for. Others said I needed to ask God who I hadn't forgiven because I must be harboring resentment in my heart. It hurts more when the people you trust the most and expect to help when you're down are the ones who point fingers, accuse and hurt you the most. This is beautiful and very helpful in understanding that I'm not the bad one and cause of not being healed yet. I have been ready and so wanting it for so long. I didn't feel worthy to get involved with my pain and difficult disabilities.

Thank for adding a clip like this into the episode of the 2 by 2. I am also someone who has permanent disability. I had a stroke at age 2 as I was born with a hole in my heart that caused me to have a blood clot to to my brain. Causing me to have a stroke. It affected my right side. So I’m left handed and have only one hand that I can use. My right leg is 3cm shorter then my left ( I can walk but can’t run) so I wear build up shoes when I’m out and about as my back gets sore and aches and I feel off balance. I am blessed to be here in this world and wouldn’t have been here as I had a 20% chance of living according to all my drs. Thanks to my amazing church family praying for me and my family I try and have a better relationship with God. Please keep sharing the story of Jesus through The chosen.

Despite all this and our believing she would be healed our laying on of hands etc she died. I had became so angry at Him. While this scene helped so much to remember that He chooses whom to heal we dont. I was so close to walking away from it all in not understanding His choices. This lady had shown me how to love others and her work was finished. I had to accept that. She had received her final healing she was with Him. Thank you for this scene it brought me back to Him. That was one of the most powerful, impactful scenes I've seen on screen. I've lived with infertility for 17 years and the heartache and pain has at times been almost unbearable. Remembering that He is with us in our pain brings the greatest blessings. He so often uses our pain and story for His glory and to bless others. I've certainly seen that more times than I can count. I'm really thankful The Chosen created this scene. While it may not be in the Bible, the understanding of suffering it provides is very Biblical. To hear the actor lives with that particular disability himself makes it even more impactful. I can only imagine the deep emotions he was feeling throughout. Such a beautiful and encouraging interview.

As a nurse with chronic pain for 15 years and ministering to the sick, I totally love this add on to scripture in the story. Job was healed when he prayed for his friends. Perhaps when we suffer while ministering to others, we reflect Christ most. "Father forgive them, they do not know what they are doing." To Jordan, yes the church often talks about ministering to emotional, behavioral issues. But physical issues the church shy away from, or has scam artist who say we need seed money to grow your faith to heal you. ( if you hear this run away). Jordan, thanks for your honest sharing, so good.

This is my all-time favorite scene followed closely by the scene in Clean where the woman was healed by touching Jesus' robe. I suffered with illness for several years, and so the woman's story in the Bible has always resonated with me. I prayed for healing, and it was a long time coming. Her faith was uplifting for me. My healing came in the form of an ostomy, which was NOT my idea of healing. However, it saved my life. This is where the scene with Jesus and Little James' comes to be my favorite scene of the show. This scene was so so so so powerful to me. God uses our weaknesses! He is our strength when we have none! Thank you for this scene. I cried like a baby when I first saw it.
