I so loved his character as Grandpa Walton. He was a wise man, enjoyed playful times with his grandchildren, and was also a Southern gentleman. It was amazing to see all that in one character. Rest in Peace Mr. Geer. We have truly lost a treasured actor, but we are fortunate to see his work on The Waltons.
@@22161 I agree too. I also love the voice of Joe Conley, very beautiful. And he made Ike Godsey so memorable. Ronnie Claire Edwards' Corabeth really helped Ike shine.
The Dick Van Dyke Show is a great comedy, and The Waltons is a great drama. I like the fact that Will Geer was an amateur botanist who loved flowers. Though I'm not gay, I can certainly appreciate his involvement with horticulture. I help take care of a large flower garden myself, and it sure lifts my spirits. Great shows like The Waltons, Dick Van Dyke, Hogan's Heroes, MASH, The Andy Griffith Show, Mary Tyler Moore, Happy Days, and just plain goofy laughter really DO help us get through the tough times that come our way.
Oh, Zebulon Walton. When I was young watching The Waltons I thought Granpa was a bit of an old poop, but now I see he was everything. Did i manage to say, "Oh, Zebulon Walton"?
He looked so different till I heard him talk. The things he said and how he said them made my heart feel good as he was in real life like on the screen.
