A true Stephen King classic. Kathy Bates is a treasure. She can do it all, comedy, drama, horror, suspense. I love how funny she can be and then is equally as terrifying.
I once watched this movie with a friend who was seeing it for the first time. He said it was the scariest movie he'd ever seen on the grounds that everything in this movie could actually happen.
Fun facts: The movie was shot chronologically to build up the tension between Kathy Bates and James Caan. It worked terrific! Director Rob Reiner has a cameo as the helicopter pilot.
Stephen King described Annie in her depressive episode(s) as being "The real Annie, with all her masks off" and I actually low-key feel bad for her during those scenes. She's a lot less volatile and unstable, too, and she's a lot more with reality than any other time. Like, she recognises what she's doing is wrong and can also see that Paul doesn't actually like being with her or love her. It's like deep down she realizes her action come from a place of desperate loneliness and fear of losing him.
I first watched this when I was sick in bed with a cold and soon regretted it. But overall it is a great movie and has one the of the best performances of acting all of time.
Kathy Bates won an Oscar for her role. You should watch her acceptance speech. It’s funny. My Dad showed this to my brother and me from a Blockbuster Video store Another claustrophobic thriller where the protagonist is confined inside a building is WAIT UNTIL DARK. With the lovely Audrey Hepburn. Through a series of events in the prologue, a doll stuffed with heroin ends up in a disabled woman’s basement apartment and three crooks want it. What starts as a hustle gradually evolves into a nail biting battle of wits and an intense home invasion. There’s even a jump scare or two that will make your heart burst out of your chest
Paul was driving what may be the worst car to drive in a blizzard. Powerful and rear wheel drive. Remember, humans always make the most believable monsters.
Clariss is such a delightful person, I'm so grateful to her now husband TimotheeReacts for introducing me to her channel, as well another creator named ANGELINA.
I read the Misery book two years ago and the foot scene in this movie is different from one in the book and I gotta say it`s a good thing that it was changed in the movie.
I'm not the biggest horror fan, but this is without a doubt a 5/5 movie for me. I rewatched it last year for the first time in 16 years, and I was still captivated by it at 35 as when I first saw it when I was 18.
Thanks for disclaimer, friend. About to dip😅 but have to say as an old dude, if i ever did reactions as someone whos seen most of the best Classics that get the views, id just have maybe a "Forrest Gump", "The Exorcist", & maybe a Kubrick & Hughes flick channel & just grab any & all people i could find who've never seen react with me. "Misery" is one such flick that is RECYCLABLE GOLD!!! Then id start another channel with a partner & eventuly add more partners & channels & randomly switch channels amongst us partners, all the while racking up views & subs via same recycled highly viewed Classics. I do believe you could literally have a "Forrest Gump Reaction Channel" showing it to random people who've never seen it & succeed in the reaction game. See ya! ✌️🌎❤️
I watched Family Guy parody and it makes me watch this movie so bad. One of the greatest horrors, I like psychology horrors even more then some bloody crazy ones. 🎃🎃🎃
Drugging thing never would have actually worked. "Novril" is a fictional drug, but it says multiple times in the book that it's basically a high dose of Codeine. I'm prescribed Codeine and will sometimes chew them* when the pain is really bad and Codeine tastes INCREDIBLY bitter. You could add one Codeine pill to an entire batch of cake batter and you'd taste something nasty in that cake. *Thoroughly chewed up opioids start working in 10-15 mins as opposed to 30-45 mins if you swallow them whole
fun fact CLARISS, well maybe a bit more fun for you but whenever I see someone reacts to this movie I feel bad for the reactor getting to the sledgehammer and feet scene.
Oh terrifier if you don’t like over the top b horror movie gore then you will not like it I just watched the third one in theaters I thought I was gonna be the only one watching it until the last trailer one old lady and a couple come in so 4 all together the couple walk out half way through the movie the old lady walked out near the very end like did they not see the first two 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Love this movie. Based on one of my all-time fav books! Can't wait for your reaction to Carrie (1976)! Have you seen either of the remakes/read the book? I'm guessing you at least know the story? It's best going into it knowing as little as possible btw :)
