Your story was pretty 98% accurate, except for Doheen was innocent. I’m not saying this because I’m a very close friend of Kyla, and the entire family. I dated Kyla’s aunt, which we’re still close friends today. I’m also a business consultant for Kyla, her mom, aunt, grandmother and I’m saying it because he had a horrible attorney named Debra Opri who didn’t fight for him. I was the one who told Doheen’s mom and Kyla to fire this witch. His mom didn’t listen and kept her as his attorney. I was fighting a case of my own, and hired her as my attorney before Doheen ever got into this mess. All she wanted was money, and didn’t care nothing about black people. She’s the worst attorney ever!!! I had to fire her in court, right in front of the judge. Doheen was set up. We know who the killer was, but it is what it is. I can say, it wasn’t him and he won’t tell either. So much for keeping silent. His life was ruined over a lie, and I’m sorry an innocent young lady lost her life over stupidity.

Great story. I’m all for limiting the time a young defender spends in prison, especially when they turn their life around. I get how the family is angry and wants him locked up forever. This guy had a famous sibling getting all the attention, so he fell into a trap of gang bangers promising him fake love and attention he probably felt he wasn’t getting at home. 13 is young, kids are vulnerable and followers to older kids. Looks like he made the best of his life after prison. He probably realized the only people who show up for them visits and put money on your books are your real family and not the gang members.
