01:44:25 I counted 16. We play Warsong, Frothing, Patron. There are 4 minions on the board. We swing face with the axe for 4, buffing Frothing to 6 attack and spawning another Patron, so we have 4(Axe)+6(Frothing)+3(Patron)+3(Patron)=16. If we had a 0 mana Whirlwind, we could have spawned 2 more Patrons and buffed Frothing by another 5 for a total of 27 damage. Does the math check out? I had to focus really hard to calculate this, no way I would be able to count this in game (while also making other decisions) without playing this deck many times before. 01:45:30 I counted 22. We play Warsong, Frothing, Patron, Armorsmith. There are 6 minions on the board. We swing face with the axe for 4, buffing Frothing to 8 attack and spawning another Patron, we can crash both Armorsmiths into the Sylvanas to turn their 1 power into 2 power each by buffing Frothing Berserker. So we have 4(Axe)+12(Frothing)+3(Patron)+3(Patron)=22. But there is a gamble that Sylvanas may steal the Frothing before we can attack with it. Yet again, does the math check out? I might be completely wrong because skill issue. 01:46:00 I don't think you ever had lethal this game without another whirlwind effect. Chat later (01:47:28) said something about killing Sylvanas, which would generate 2 more armor from Armorsmiths, but said Sylvanas would have then stolen (at best) a 1 power minion which would be exact lethal for the opponent. => Still dead. To really live one more turn, you'd have to swing with the weapon to generate 6 more armor from the Armorsmiths. But what next? Play to set up the other Death's Bite or hope for a Whirlwind topdeck? While you're facing Infernals and possibly a weapon hit + Darkbomb / Hellfire face. 01:52:30 This lethal is mind bending. I legitimately thought the game was lost.
1. I can’t believe I actually watched over 2.5 hours of Dane playing Hearthstone. 2. I can’t believe I got to watch over 2.5 hours of Dane playing Hearthstone!
back when the game actually requires skill to win, no discover or random bullsh!t to bail you out, and you only play the cards that you put into your deck
It was essentially solved when it was nerfed. The only way to improve it was to get better at playing it, because even at its peak it was noted that it was theoretically stronger than it was being played because of its high skill requirement to master. The only time improvements were made was when Commander got reverted recently and we started having newer cards used (To the point it didn't even run Patron, so it was pure Math Warrior using Risky Skipper + Frothing)
