Actuator/Door Lock Assembly Install/Removal Tip On A Mazdaspeed 3

Car door indicator light would stay on even though the door was closed. Symptom of a bad Actuator! Finally came around to replacing it but this video is NOT a how to just giving a quick tip on removing it with ease.

Adding my praise to this video. I was struggling for a while to get the rod unclipped with no luck. Then I found your video. Pulled the plug in the door and it gave a straight shot to the screw. Took out the bracket and had the clip off in seconds. Thank you for this!!

Thanks for this video. IDK about everyone else but my alarm keeps going off on its own and I'm pretty sure this is the reason. I've been struggling to find the right Mazda Part number for this thing by just searching "Mazdaspeed 3 driver door lock actuator". I've come up with Mazda BBM4-59-310E - I'm ordering it now. Hope that helps anyone else out. Also I made the same mistake swapping the cables on my passenger door when I swapped the door speaker LOL

@@GuimardJoseph I changed mine out today. That is the right part number for anyone reading the comments. Also another tip is to use an impact Phillips head screw driver for that first turn out of those 3 screws because they are so fragile. Impact screw driver and hammer for a small first turn.

Hola! So you take the bracket off first then disconnect the 2 metal rods from the actuator then take the part out? And when you put the new part in you connect the 2 metal rods to the actuator first then put the bracket, then you attach the actuator the the bracket? Thank you very much!

For some reason when I’m putting the panel back (with the 11 bolts) it doesn’t seem to sit flush like how you had it when you were putting it back, any advice?

I'd say check 3 things - that all tabs are straight and not bent. - wires/connectors are seated in a proper position, not - when putting the panel on, the top portion is sitting over the frame where the window opening is.

Brother can I just replace cable? cable for door latch snapped but latch itself is working. Why to buy the whole thing if I can just replace cable? ofc if it can be done

I honestly do not know. I never thought of that. If you can find the cable sold separately, then it could be possible, but I couldn't give you a solid answer on that, sorry.

One thing to note: The three screws on the outside door are very soft and is torque wrenched. Head can get damaged if not careful. Then DIY project may become very long and frustrating.
