People asking why hot air works if cold doesn't, it's because hot air is just using engine heat. It's not really using the A/C system, the A/C can be dead but you'll still get heat because it's just using a fan blowing over an internal cabin radiator that's connected to the engine coolant system. This hot coolant circulation is fairly elevated in comparison to the rest of the system, so if your car is low on coolant there may not be enough to circulate through the cabin radiator. So if you have no heat one of the first things you would want to check is making sure your car has enough coolant, as counterintuitive as that might seem.

Man I just did a timing belt on my wife’s MDX and she was blaming me for breaking it 😅. Pulled over to the side of the road and found this video. Swapped in the fog light relay and we have cold air again! I’ll swap both relays in the morning. I also see you’re a Felony driver as well! It’s an awesome RC.

I wish I had seen this video first. I took my 2010 MDX to my mechanic (generally an honest person) and he tested a bunch of things and came to the same conclusion - it needed a new relay. but paid $85 due his time and expertise mark up. still better than some places which want to charge hundreds of dollars to fix the AC.

Blows heat, but no cold. AC line is cold and Freon is full. I will try this fuse, thanks.

If ac line is cold then possability is ur bled door is stuck on heat

@@RBTheMechanic scythe ac line is not cold. My error. Has to a blockage somewhere. Low pressure reads high, high reads low.

Well first fix the ac check pressure swap relay and change fuse that’s the basics and then check air mode motor that’s what change direction of air

Relay seems to be in tact but still blowing hot air. I added Freon and still nothing what else could be the issue?

@@RBTheMechanic yeah we swapped the fog light relay and both the relays worked but the compressor still isn’t kicking on. We think the clutch went out we tried damn near everything else lmao

Well on the fuse box look for relay that had snowflake ❄️ or says MG clutch swap it or put ac on start tapping on all relays just incase it might come on

Hi. I just got the same problem. The A.C. doesn't blow cold air just hot air. I took to mechanic and he put freon thinking it was the problem, But it Wasn't. He said i need a new compressor. But im gonna check or buy some new relay/fuse to see if thats the issue. I just finished paying off my acura mdx. Its sucks.

No it's not the relay. My dad said it's the actual compressor. We hear the noise from it. So I have to buy a compressor to have someone put it on. 🫤

I have a 2014 MDX. So there have been 3 or so occasions where the ac was not working...blowing hot/warm air. The issues seem to resolve itself when, the first time we drove over a railroad track and it started blowing cold like normal. A second time I remember it came back on to normal when I was backing out of a parking space and I ran up on a curve on the passenger side and the ac started working properly. Each time it goes "out" it was never out for a long period of time. The ac always seemed to resume to normal function after the SUV went over a hard bump or jarred in some manner. Do you think this could be due to a fuse that is partially dislodged?

It can be the relay since some times relay work when u tap on it it could be when u went over hit somthing it get clicked on so defiantly swap the relay

This isn't very detailed, what about the primary fuse Box and the long fuse Box area how do you remove that? I know how to remove 2 prong fuses.

It was my problem I swapped the radiator fan relay and my ac came on. I put the radiator relay back in the right spot cause if not the car may overheat. I'll be going to get a new one for the ac tomorrow.

My 2011 wouldnt blow cold air on driver side, then a month later no cold air at all, i checked relay and fuses, all working. Cheked the actuator motors and both were working well, just no cold air was coming out. What do you think i should do next

I think slowely ur system lot all Freon and it went from less cold to no cold so u might have a leak check ac Freon pressure if it’s empty recharge it with uv dye and trace down the leak

Check fuses but ac button not working could be related to ac system shut down check pressure and relay and fuses

@@RBTheMechanic thank-you so much and I have checked and replace the ac fuse and ac relay. Do you think the pressure could make the system not to display anything in the screen and buttons don't work? I don't even see the light on those buttons. Also the rear display and buttons are not working.

This did not work‼️ it messed up my car 😡 After doing this my battery keep draining, my AWD and Airbag is on. I should have never tried this‼️ My car is now not drivable.

If u did this and fixed it!!! We both are awesome…. And the guy who was driving long trip and his ac cut off and he pulled over and did this and boom trip was ac cold again!!!
