The fact that she was in a whole movie where her character was supposed to sit still for a portrait and then you actually see her and she doesn’t stop moving...ever 😂 and I love that she always defers to someone else to answer first!
@@kiko813 I've been watching a lot of their interviews and they seem to be cool and natural around each others. Also Céline said many times that she wanted to work with Adèle again and she wrote that role specifically for her.
As a French, I'm very touched by how Portrait of a Lady On Fire has a huge success in other countries. All the comments in here are in english, which shows Adele Haenel is internationally famous and loved. I've rarely been this proud of something or someone from my own country.
@@ventolininhaler1583 i prefer foreign culture. American movies are better to me usually. Maybe we all have kind of an attraction to what's not from our country. A lot of people who are not French love Portrait of a lady on fire, and as a French I usually prefer American culture and movies.
@@jsuispastiktokeusehein Many people like modern American stuff - to me it's unwatchable. If Portrait of a Lady on Fire was made in the US it'd be just another cheesy love story that was filmed thousands of times before. French movies are incredibly deep, relatable, raw... No unnecessary special effects. But, of course, this is all a matter of taste! :)
@@ventolininhaler1583 maybe you're just watching the wrong stuff. The mainstream cinema in america can be cheesy but there are many films made by independent studios that are just amazing. I think it's unfair to group and label all american films as bad. Every country has it's good and bad films

I had (still do but it got a bit better) very bad social anxiety and when I see the way she behaves, it reminds me so much of myself like the sweaty palms, the head jerking, can’t sit still etc... I’m not trying to diagnose or put labels. It’s just that I feel less alone seeing a big celeb behaving like me.
This is how I feel internally. I usually just clench my gut, ramble on and say stupid shit then beat myself up later on for saying such stupid shit. These days I just keep my mouth shut.
Easy, most DVD movies have English & French languages, so watch the movie in English first and then a few weeks later watch it again but this time with French language (no subtitles), you already know the movie's story so you will catch French very quickly, it works trust me, that's the way I learned English (watching French movies in English).

she is just so down-to-Earth and to be honest, i didn't expect her mannerisms to be so relatable. it's like she can't sit in a chair without having to move her entire body.
mark rowe yes at 8.20 when the audience are applauding the end of the film you can see how awkward and nervous she is. Many actors are like this as they are confident in playing someone else but when given great praise are nervous as themselves.
The other day I was watching an interview and she wasn't talking much but when she did, I thought that if I were in that situation I'd probably be quite like her. She was looking kind of anxious and distracted and I totally understand her because sometimes I'm like that (in public and some situations).
She's like being with the most adorkable 5 year old, which isn't meant to be rude, it's just we all empathise with the awkwardness of being the focus of attention this way and so often, in a foreign language. Totally unique and lovable

The interview with the German journalist for Portrait of the Lady is funny. His questions were so over the top (and silly), you can tell the two actresses were mentally checking out. Adele is a little manic! Very cute!
