I would make another wooden patio area where the swamp is. Keep it level with the rest of the garden so it doesn't interfere with using the whole width and breadth of the garden for outdoor games. But the grass is never going to grow there. It would be perfect for those chairs, maybe a paddling pool for Sid so it doesn't ruin the grass.
