I had high hopes for this machine but the fact that they put some of the advance features behind a monthly paywall is crazy. I also prefer to digitize my art in a separate app and load it onto a USB stick, but this machine forces you to do everything through the crappy app.

Awesome video for the Brother PP1. I love the background music and the way you edited the entire video👍👏😊. However, let’s start with section 15:34. There is a problem with the top thread not showing on the bottom; this is a tension issue that the Brother PP1 is known for. The problem with the PP1 is tension-it is really bad with the bottom bobbin or top thread, which is the reason for so many returns and lack of sales. I noticed in section 9:10, during your first demonstration, the same issue with tension, but the bottom bobbin was showing on top. In section 17:26, I wished you hadn’t used the same thread color on the bobbin; we have no idea how the tension turned out. In section 21:24, you mentioned loads of troubleshooting on the app. I wish you had explained to your audience what issues you had instead of skipping it. This would have helped those with the PP1 or those thinking about buying it. If you’re recommending a product need to show the pros and cons. Otherwise, excellent job 👍! 😎
Really good points thank you! Yes I did have a tension issue and it took me almost the whole shirt to perfect the settings and threading correctly. I tried to give an overview of the machine and project ideas rather than a really detailed “how to” with the machine as I only had limited time. You can see on the lemon though where I used white bottom thread the tension was perfect!
@@BangOnStyleThank you for your reply. I would like to go back to 15:34 when you addressed that the embroidery was perfect, but it wasn’t. I mentioned this because on the opposite side (bobbin side), there is a section that was all bobbin thread and none of the top thread. The lemon embroidery may look good on one side, but on the other side, tension issues are evident. I too was going to write a review for the PP1 but decided not to after seeing all the negative reviews about the paid app and tension issues. I had three PP1 machines, and all had tension problems. What seems like a fix on one project ends up causing problems on another with different materials. Two of the machines would cause a bird's nest halfway through a project, and that dial (tension dial) hardly does anything. Brother is ignoring the problem. They are aware due to the lack of sales and high returns but will not admit there is a tension issue. Otherwise, Brother would have to issue a recall if they acknowledged a tension flaw in the PP1. That said, you can have the correct stabilizer, correct thread, and correct bobbin weight for one project and still find yourself with inconsistent results on another project. Brother rushed the PP1 to market with too many flaws that went unnoticed, sadly still passing quality control. Not only did your video showcase the flaws, but also did most of the content creator channels that had demonstrated the PP1. Too bad PP1 has flaws not worth the price and the app. Brother PP1 would had been a great concept if it wasn’t broken before buying. 😎
