The pop song was brilliantly constructed out of that 10-min neobaroque piece. She didn't just slap lyrics (English version, Italian version) directly over the source material unchanged. She & her collaborators made this new creation together. I particularly love the orchestration used for this performance.
Her vocal sounds are affected for the better because of the different languages she speaks so fluently.the french the italian the portugeze the spanish etc.etc....the nasal and j sounds are more set in to her every day speach ...all this adds to her vocal beauty and ease of sound ..she is definitely special..and like no other ..she is the best in her class...
Adagio is an italian word, that means "Slowly". This is also used in music to define the pace of a music (a bit slow, between lento and andante) and also as a name of a piece of a sonate, concerto or symphony that is using that specific pace. The music from this song of Lara Fabian is a pop translation of an italian classic piece called "Albinoni's Adagio". It was written in 1958 by Remo Giazotto who was an admirer of Albinoni, a musician from the 17th/18th century. He claimed it was from him and give his music this name but there is consensus today that he most probably has composed it himself. The classic music piece is globally famous and was translated into a pop song for Lara. She wrote lyrics in english and italian for it and is the original performer. She kept the title Adagio and wrote a story with a double meaning: a woman that is awaiting to find her love / an artist that is awaiting the god of inspiration. Agree Eric, the studio version is quite flat, which is in stark contrast to Mademoiselle Zhivago by the great director Alan Badoev. Good reaction Jess ! There has been many covers and rewriting of -Adagio- before Lara and after her version of Remo Giazotto's '' supposedly '' Albinoni's transcription. That's the version I like the most, since the musical construction is very linked with the text and the intends of the words. I'd like to bring forth the great job done by the whole orchestra here conducted by Charles Barbeau and all the band members. Particularly, to the bass player, Rémi Malo, who is on the master studio recording tape. The whole orchestra is sitting on him and he '' kick-ass'' Lara's butt. The studio version is a bit dry and I prefer the live Italian version over it. Lara, Rick Allison ( Lara's ex-boyfriend ), Dave Pickell and Bruce Roberts are the co-writers and co-composers of this masterpiece. Steve Lukather ( of the group Toto ) played the guitar also in studio. Lara recorded the studio version in front of '' The Good Fellows '' movie cast : Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci in New York,1999.
