I consider ACal to one of the best rappers and I've been listening for 25 years. The industry was rigged back in the day. Not saying there weren't good rappers, but the labels controlled what was being put out there. Now with platforms like RU-vid, they can't stop it. Adam is a perfect example...the best talent out there is rarely what you are hearing on the radio. Amazing some of the garbage that has been promoted. He comes with the talent and the right message.

I remember back in the day when you'd listen to music and could understand the words as well as the message.... somewhere along the way the words and the message of a song got lost and it became about the beat and rhyming.. It's nice to have an artist that is being both of those things back but still moving forward and being progressive not regressive..
Not every song has to contain a message to be good , and the lyrics are perfectly understandable most of the time , and there are many great rappers in this generation , denzel , Kendrick , j Cole , pusha t , Tyler the creator , asap rocky ...etc

When i got out of jail a few years ago my buddy got me job and introduced me.to upchurch and soon after started listening to adam calhoun... adam calhouns music saved me from repeatimg and going back amd doing time in prison ill forever be grateful for his lyrics as it saved me from my depression and got my ass in shape to bust my ass for where i am today also his videos about his life relate to mine. I hope to atleast be able to have a conversation with this guy oneday and maybe have one in person oneday. I remember when I found Adam. I was doing amazing showing youth that not everyone in a uniform wants to hurt or control them. Then something bad would happen and totally set me back. It hurt like hell feeling defeated. I found the song racism and it totally rebuilt me. I stopped caring about petty shit and just kept doing what I was doing. Building relationships and bonds with people it helped me become a better version of myself. It’s funny how music can give you strength in times where you feel your weakest. Thank sir.
