Don't know what it is about Chance ... he draws me in with his smooth , smoky voice and his melancholy persona ... can't get enough of him ! The Home Free guys all have such unique personalities ... thank God they found each other !
Adam Chance comes across as a deep thinker, deeply emotional and kinda introverted. I really like him a LOT. Thanks for doing a reaction with just him.
Chance has this beautiful mellow voice. And in Home Free he is surrounded by these very flashy voices, which Austins, Robs and Tims are, just all in very different ways. And Adam is there, doing Adam stuff. In combination that as the baritone Chance often sings harmony he sometimes goes under the radar because there are so many other shiny things....
And the baritone, while necessary, is NTO what you generally hear, and there are not a lot of songs written for the baritone voice that work well for a larger group.
I love Chance’s voice. It’s so soft and soothing, but also very emotive. Chance grew up way out in the woods in Alabama and now lives in LA. Many of us who grew up in very rural areas and moved away still have a longing for expanses of trees and grass. We know we don’t want to live there again but we still carry a yearning for it. I think Chance and Adam are the introverts of Home Free. Thanks, Jeremy and Jillian!
I keep saying that when I win the lottery (not if, but when, dagnabbit all!), I'm going to move back to the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont (where I grew up - 850 people, 5000 cows), buy a big patch of land in or near where I grew up, and open a cat sanctuary. I would LOVE to move back home (I will always consider Vermont my home)... much quieter pace of life, and yes, people are always in your business, but they also always have your back/come to your aid should you need it... it's a rare thing to experience where I live now (small city in Southern New Hampshire).
@@WoobieHugs My home town is all about everyone else's business, but the judgmental nature seems to have gotten worse since I was a kid. Maybe I just didn't notice it as much then. Yes, they would help you in a second, but as soon as the emergency was over, they'd be picking you apart behind your back. But, than again, that probably happens everywhere to a certain degree with people who know everything about you and your family for 3 generations back.
@@nancyholter5646 Like you, I might have just not noticed the talking behind your back-edness in my home town when I was a kid, but I agree - it's gotten a LOT worse. Even so, I'm most definitely a small-town girl (okay, seasoned fry at this point) :D
I'm so glad you've allowed Chance's talent to shine through, and you get why so many Home Ffries are really big Chance fans. This is yet another example of his awesome storytelling in his writing.....it's like poetry put to music....as someone else mentioned in the comments (I hope this is not too much hyperbole) he reminds you of the late great Gordon Lightfoot.
It took a little bit for me to appreciate Chance. He does have a very nice distinctive voice but I'm going to need him to sing a song that doesn't make me cry . He's broken me several times.
It takes five people to make an a capella quintet happen. Chance definitely does his part. As awful as covid lockdown was, it was a quite prolific, productive, and creative time for not only HF, but for each member as well, including Chance. His voice is so suited for folk-like songs.

Chance's voice and lyrics gravitate toward the folk genre -- country folk or folk rock. This is probably my favorite of his originals. It's melancholy and hauntingly beautiful. Thank you for featuring it so lovingly.
I always feel like Chances voice is like a soothing balm for this old weary world 🌎. My go to when my day has been hectic or dealing with to much 🙃 chaos. He's great medicine. ❤😊
You two rock - like a hand in glove - Jeremy I don't know how (or why) she puts up with you but as they say: "Love is a strange thing" If you don't believe me - just ask my better half - she deserves "woman of the century for putting up with this old geezer!! IMHO Chance is the "glue" that holds HF together - w/o his velvety, smooth "Baritone" vocals there would be something amiss, even with the other UBER talented fellas - they are a uniquely talented group that only come around every 40-50 years...The last group that "took me to Church" (so to speak) were The Beatles - I was 13 at the time - and I've never been the same since...until I heard Home Free. You are my Favorite reaction channel and the Ninja makes it even better - The Home Frie nation is forever grateful for her participation and yeah making you look good as well!!! Love you guys! This is a great original song by Chance. He is a very talented songwriter & singer. His voice suits this style of music. I can see some Gordon Lightfoot in him as well as some other folk rock singers. Great lyrics & clever editing of the video.

Yes. I’ve been waiting for someone who can a Gordon song and do something with it. And I think Chance could. Even if it’s just take one of the David Foster produced songs and bring it back to Lightfoot’s folksy, man and a guitar, style.

Chance shines at folk type music. He writes beautiful music. Love when he is with Hound+Fox. He's more of an introvert than the others. As someone said, together the Home Free guys are amazing. Individually,they are all unique in their writing and pursuits of their side activities they share.
I love his voice in this one. Everything he does is sad, but beautiful. His voice is a radio voice. I don't care what anyone says!! He's so much better live. I don't usually say that about anyone. Hey, Jeremy, she had an itch. She really did. Love you two.
Loving your HF Fridays, especially with special appearances by "Little Ninja". Adam Chance has the most beautifully haunting voice. Adam Chance was a perfect “Wild Card” to replace Chris Rupp. Chance’s range is exactly what Home Free needed to move forward. Everyone of the guys at Home Free are Wild Cards as they have gifts that work so well with each other. This allows every one of them to take leads in the production of whatever song they take on with such extraordinary high-end. This provides such amazing flexibility level with the arrangement direction they chose to pursue and ultimately produce for our ears. Their gifts meld so well and make ear candy for us to take in. I can remember that is it "The Hound & The Fox" because the letters are the same order as Home Free -> H&F/HF. Otherwise I'd get it backwards 90% of the time. BYW, H&F did the background vocals on this one, and Reilly produced it along with Sami. I think it is telling about the toll touring takes on the guys that all three - Tim, Austin, and Chance - have written songs about 'coming home' in different ways, as has Jeffrey East.

I agree with Jillian! Sometimes we need somber music. Chance has such a rich and buttery voice that is perfect for his voice! I was so happy he was the choice to replace Chris!
Chance tends more towards rather melancholy songs both in his song writing and singing. His voice puts me somewhat in mind of Smoky Robinson's (and "when Smoky sings/ I hear violins"). I don't know if you've seen Home Free's cover of "Born in the U.S.A." - Chance sings lead on it & plays guitar. He sings "A Whistling Lad" with his old singing partners The Hound & The Fox (McKenzie & Riley) and it's just wonderful.
I love "A Whistling Lad" with The Hound and The Fox". I think it was an original. I love it when Chance joins them, it is magic. They also do a great job on "Hurt".
Jeremy … Jeremy … Jeremy ……. How do you profess to not like Country, and yet you seem to like Home Free, and appreciate Adam Chance’s hard folk preference. Admit it, you just love soulful, good, emotional music. Funny or sad, but reaches you in the gut.
It's great that you're doing an Adam Chance solo. While most people may prefer to listen to Tim and Austin's solos, I only have Adam Chance's solos on my playlist. I also think Pancho & Lefty are awesome. Something in Chance's voice always gets to me. The others are also good solos, but that doesn't really appeal to me. I just think it's a shame that Rob doesn't have time for a solo album. But of course I prefer to hear them all together in Home Free.
I compare his voice to Sting’s -- like the lick of a cat’s tongue. In a group, his voice fills all the voids between the other voices, making him invaluable. 👍🏻
