Adam Crapser: Adoption to Deportation to living in Mexico

Adam Crapser, a Korean adoptee, tells his story of migration, adoption, incarceration, deportation, and redemption. Having left Korea as a three year old and being ping-ponged from family to family, Adam had a tough start. He took advantage of what life gave him and survived whether it be on the streets, prison, or deported to a foreign land, he did what he had to do. Now he is thriving and trying to make sure that future generations don't have to go through what he did.

He also made his bed. You make your bed and you have to deal with it Yes the whole adoption thing and group homes messed up his life. but Hes a criminal that was was constantly involved in crime and gangs to the point of deportation. You have to be involved in many many incidents and SEVERE CRIME to get deported. Goverment doesn't have the time, money or people to use to deport people for small incidents. He that was involved in crimes and major crimes to the point be being constantly being on police radar...thats the only way a person permanent resident gets deported

I’m so sorry he went through all of what he went through. I know me apologizing doesn’t change what happened to him but he is an inspiration. The system and many adults who were supposed to be a protector in his life, failed him. I’m so glad he is in a better place and has taken control of his life. He has motivated me to see what I can personally do to help children caught up in the system like he was. Bless him. I wish him the absolute best.🙏💝

The United States 'of' America has been a corporatocracy for many years now/the proverbial neo-liberal model that has been the status quo since the late 70's/early 80's. Aside from that, the USA has always been a cut throat vicious nation that is reflected in many societal areas; starting from the pyramidal system at the top. So, I am a white person who got very educated and has been working in our prisons, with our homeless veterans, in our nursing homes, and trying my best to make a difference for others. And try to lift people up as best I can. But, this is your journey, your story and your truth. And you are so right, this has to be your movement and your voice. You have to take the lead. I can learn, and listen and support, but no one else can rise up for you. This is a powerful reminder for me that profound change is an inside job. It starts in your heart. They have kids that were adopted and when they grow up somehow they were became Canadian citizens, get into trouble and get deported back to the country that they were born. Some of them were babies when they came over here and now they’re being send back home to a home they don’t know, a language they don’t know and customs. I tried finding him on social media but couldn't figure out how to contact him. I volunteer to adopt him to get him back to the U.S. Then, we need to start a movement for others to do this for all who have been deported. My story. Both my grandfathers were illegal aliens but I was born and raised in the United States. My grandmother was full blooded Native. So, I don't like the white bs either. My people were marched on the Trail of Tears and forced on to reservations even though this is our land. On the other side of my family, my great grandmother was Roma. You can check all of the history of our people. I was also raised with a lot of dysfunction, a lot of violence. I get it. I want to help and I believe that I can. Let me know how to do so. I'm 66. I'm a mother and a grandmother who has U.S. citizenship. I can help.

@@Rick68976 I know this. My grandmother was full blooded Native American. My father taught me the history of the Native people and he worked as an environmentalist knowing the Native way of living in harmony with nature. I now know that the colonizers went around the world conquering and subduing everyone they could. I also know that they destroyed the world with their evil natures. They lie, steal and cheat. We are coming into the sixth mass extinction because of them. Yet, they still lie about climate catastrophe. Their greed and selfishness has murdered many people. I can even tell you that I am writing a book about this. I have discovered that they are all people with personality disorders--narcisscistic, sociopathic or psychopathic. Serial killers are psychopaths. So, are many CEOs, politicians and religious leaders who manipulate others for their own gain. I have difficulty sleeping because I am completely aware of all of this. It disgusts me.

I enjoyed your talk, but to be a bit critical, it lacked some cohesion and a defined mission. I think what I got in the end, is that you're trying to spread awareness, rather than changing policy. Is that right? I relate to your story because I myself am Korean, but how would you get society at large to care ? It's still a small issue in the vast ocean of issues that America cares about. You would need to get involved in the political process I imagine. Either way, you feel passionate about it and you're making a community around it, so thats great. At the end of the day, i dont think it's going to move the needle in terms of making the U.S. govt change policy.
