The story:
I followed a ghost into her house. Standing outside the abandoned home, the front door ajar, I stepped in to find myself in infinite darkness. A space so frozen and still, I felt time hesitate. Trailing behind the glow of unfamiliar energy, we move around corners and through open doorways, each room we enter smaller and quieter than the one before. Passing through a final door together, I felt the silence break - my eyes closed, listening to the sound of a distant breeze, I found myself in a dense forest, centered around a small, illuminated pond. I regain my vision and notice her sitting, with her feet in the water. The closer I get, the further into the water they wade. As I step into the pond, sending ripples across the glassy surface, our eyes connect. And just before I woke, in a single breath while descending beneath the water line, I hear a whisper in my ear - “Follow me down”.
