Kylo to Rey: "You're a nobody...but not to me." The boy has got a crush on her. Even Mark Hamill said, "There's romantic tension between Rey and my naughty nephew, Kylo. I call him Ben...girls seem to like the bad guys for some reason."
Oh yeah so romantic. “Your parents were trash and nothing. We’re gonna destroy the Resistance. YOU’RE nothing, but here, if you come with me, you won’t be nobody anymore.” Yeah, real Romeo right there.
he has social issues and I have no doubt that he doesn't know how to handle his emotions especially ones of love and compassion. His backstory being filled with lies and betrayal has morphed him to be this way, he doesnt know what do or what to say in the right way or in the best way
I always think of a quote from vampire diaries when it comes to the bad boy phenomenon. Klaus said to Caroline “So you never felt the attraction that comes when someone who is capable of doing terrible things for some reason cares only about you?" I think that’s really on point.
tbh "you're nothing, but not to me" is quite the manipulative statement. I know Kylo becomes a better person, but I don't think people should interpret that particular line as romantic.
His performance is amazing. His eyes are so incredibly expressive and conveyed so much of the emotion that his character was unable to express verbally. The contrast between his intense expression and his modulated voice when he's speaking to Rey imbues those scenes with a passionate subtext. He holds back with her in a way he does with no one else, because he's trying to hide his feelings from her. Yet he can't look away from her, and everything is visible in his eyes. I've watched some of those scenes without sound, and they are just as intense.
Shadowswept Ah, I can't agree with you more! This is why he's my favorite character in the new episodes- not even just Kylo Ren, Adam Driver as a person as well! It's so impressive to see these acting abilities and I'm so grateful to have someone like him int the Star Wars movies. Only Adam Driver could give that much depth and intensity even without words or anything. The power he brings is what makes Kylo Ren my favorite. So much feeling! I love it.
Yes, the eyes tell all and you can see it. Both of them are intense when they are around eachother and Rey is mad that she was betrayed. I just hope in the next movie they save eachother just like Luke saved his father and his father saving Luke in the end before he dies. I want that same story to play out, but I have a feeling someone will sacrifice themselves and die. I just hope it won't be Rey, or Ben.
The Reylo theory ended up being partly fulfilled: Rey and Kylo weren't going to be related because they were being set up for aa (subtle) romance or alliance. Check. They were going to share a telepathic bond. Check. Kylo and Rey build trust and team up to defeat Snoke. Check. Funny enough, stuff like this was written a long time ago from Reylo fanfiction sites. Yeah, they didn't say "I love you" or kiss - and they did end up on opposite sides again in the end, they did develop a bond that continued even after Snoke died. P.S. Daisy and Adam shared some of the best scenes in the film.
Interviewer: “The fan theories are saying Kylo and Rey-” Adam: “Wai-wai-wai-wait don’t tell me because then if I answer yes or no that would give it away” it’s so obvious Rey and Kylo will be together he just doesn’t want to talk about it because he’s afraid he will accidentally spoil it ;)
Kylo Ren Oh woah! Didn't expect to see you here in the comments. Just wanted to let you know - You're my favorite character in these new episodes and I'm so eager to see how your character develops in the next episode. Glad I scrolled down this far, haha!
“Some of the theories are that YOU AND REY-“ Adam just cuts the interviewer off... 😏😏 I mean, we ALL know the interviewer was gonna say a Reylo theory, but Adam didn’t want to confirm it 😂 AHAHAHAH
You know that one scene where Reylo has the lightsaber fight at the end of TLJ? I truly believe that if he had the chance he wouldn’t kill her, even in rage. It really seems like she has a soft spot in his heart.
I just wish he wasn't so mad that he wanted to shoot down the Falcon that she was in and he knew it. I know hes mad at her that she betrayed him, but still holds feelings for her, which was telling at the end when he wanted to see her again boarding the ship and he was sad as if he felt guilty and was grieving over his father like he should be doing once Luke left those dices behind for him. The heart wants what the heart wants, but not when he's still holding onto the darkness. Its so obvious. I'm sure that is what their future would be if JJ writes their fate for eachother.
There’s a theory that Snoke planned his own execution and had Kylo blast him with Luke’s saber to make him more powerful. It’s actually pretty interesting.
Enid Rhee I think it's a strong theory and wouldn't be surprised if it was right- I actually think it's the more logical one with all the context and everything. I love how complex this all is, or maybe it's not or maybe it is and on and on!!! I really can't wait until episode 9
Kylo is the most powerful person in Star Wars, he's also my favorite, he's very strong in the dark side, but at the same time it's like he's neither sigh nor rebel
His long pause at the fan theory question then his interrupting the interview speak volumes. He has read up on fan theories. Perhaps not often, maybe not a lot, but he has definitely seen some out there. This interview proves it. In other words, he has read up on Reylo. ;)
0:21 man....Kylo and Rey are obviously in love!!(read the novel , it's a complete romance)Adam can't say spoilers! You are asking something that you will see in the future!
Kylo and Rey are just Revan and Bastila Shan just inverse in that Kylo was turned to the dark side and Bastila was in KOTOR. It will probably play out the same way too.
His wife Joanne Tucker endured all those seasons of Adam being naked and on top, or under, etc. of Lena Dunham's character in Girls on HBO. I didn't watch the show but a history of his work shows that 'Girls"was his first work out of Juillard. It seems strange that the show "Girls"was written, directed, and produced by Lena Dunham, who acted in the show as well. Lena put herself in constant sex scenes, and make out scenes with Adam Driver , as her character, " Hannah", while the rest of the show's characters didn't have many appearances in the show. Somewhere in the last few seasons, Adam's wife Joanne did a cameo appearance on set, as the girl who steals Adam away from Hannah ( Adam's character is named Adam). i am left wondering if Lena had too much control and input of the show with regard to her activity with Adam. Who would he have gone to if he had objected to all these nude scenes and sex scenes?
Imagine if they continue with these characters and the next story is Rey trying to rebuild the Jedi order but then somehow runs into Asoka, and Cal and all 3 rebuild the order together. Along the way just to add some spice Rey has personal plans to revive Ben solo somehow.
Kylo, Rey, Poe, Finn, and Rose in Hogwarts with Albus, Scorpius, and Rose. Kylo and Poe are Slytherin (Remember, ambition, NOT evil!). Finn and Rose are Hufflepuff, and Rey is Gryffindor. Rey would randomly go into the Room of Requirement and make it so it's like Jakku, filled with crashed ships and stuff to scavenge. Kylo would just sulk in Defense Against the Dark Arts, and his Boggart would probably be something along the lines of Rey. And then of course we have Porgs in Care of Magical Creatures. (It actually autocorrected Porgs to Prongs. LOL.)
Yeah....everyone's OWN theories crushed their hopes of what they wanted to see, instead of just enjoying it AND giving *constructive* criticism of what they thought about it.
TheColorOfCaramel I totally agree. Letting yourself be open to whatever comes is the smarter choice. I do think it's okay and normal to have theories and some mild hopes but if you let them consume yourself to the point where you can't accept any other outcome, it really does spoil it for you- and it's not the movie's fault. I agree.
I think Snoke's coming back and we're going to learn a bit more about him in episode 9. The Last Jedi hinted that the Knights of Ren are Luke's former students. Snoke probably also had something to do with their turning to the dark side.
Adam fuckin Driver I steal the show everywhere!! I made me laugh cry an feel things I don't even know God u are amazing actor! An wow to look at ur voice makes me melt I could listen to u 24/7
It's hard to imagine them being together as Reylo. Granted, there is a lot of tension, between the two characters, (and I do believe the screenwriters intentionally set this up), but since Kylo rejected Rey asking him to come back to the light, I can't see (at least now) it happening. Nor only that, but Kylo killed both men whom Rey viewed as father figures (Solo and Skywalker.) Not the best way to start a romance.
Lee Nelson Rey knew Solo an Luke for a couple of days. I don't think this is a problem. I really don't understand how the Head of 1order and the head of rebellion can have romantic relationship in the movie like Starwars))))
"I'm glad that Luke is dead. What a f@cking cockblock. Now that you're gone, maybe Rey can finally get some dick" had me laughing so hard for so long. Anyways...great video, continue making more. My belief in Reylo is strong and i pray to JJ Abrams to finally get those two characters close to one another in episode IX (which, in fact, rumor has it that it will be called "Black Diamond"). Finally, i'm glad that there are people like you as well as Reylo shippers who believe in this ship :)
Everyone thinks he messed up saying "no" right away on the fan theories, but I saw it differently. I think he quickly confirmed that there was nothing to the Reylo theory but didn't want to spoil all the fan based hype over the franchise. He backtracked because he didn't want to debunk everyone looking forward to confirming the romantic arc of the story.
and holding on to his father's dice that he found on the ground after Luke leaving it for him to grieve and be guilty over what he just did. And it worked, especially seeing Rey angry at him. She seems to be the only one to bring him back to the light as he has feelings for her.
"Before I start I link this : ohtze.tumblr.com/post/137735730948/death-and-the-maiden . Star wars is all about love and forgiveness so I can think there will be a romance between the two of them because it's always like that in this universe. First with Anakin and Padme then with Leia and Han... It's about human's nature, you know, and what is the main trait of human's nature ? It's love. Love is the savior of the Humanity. It's what George Lucas (confirmed by him) was trying to say with Star Wars : there is consequences that always depends of the love that people share : love made Anakin's fall and redemption... And there's more ! I want to precise that directors, producers and writers don't include pointless scenes or don't lead movies in useless ways because they don't have much time or money to do this. So those condensed clues are, in many ways, meant to become the future. The creators (I don't remember if it's Rian Johnson or another one) said it wasn't Snoke who connected the both of them but that it was the Force itself. Snoke lied. Neither him nor Kylo or Rey can contol it. I think that the goal of this connection - and of this possible romance - is to introduce a "grey" side and a new manner to use the Force as we seen every part of it with the two trilogies. And to end the Jedi and Sith's chapter. By a strange way, their destinies are meant to become one and only. The Force don't want to be torn apart anymore like it was the case with the Jedi and Sith. But it wants to be balance... Because the Force is a whole : the light side is the extension of the dark side and vice versa. We saw that both of Kylo and Rey have the two of it in them. They are the extension of the other one. They are the ones elected by the Force. There were anothers elected by it. The goal was the same with Anakin but he failed to balance the Force and to balance himself. There were anothers before him in the Star Wars Legends but they failed too. So the Force choose anothers beings until those beings succed. This time it choose two instead of one, perhaps because only one can't handle the two sides. And again, I repeat myself but we can't forget that Star Wars is about forgiveness and love... It's even the main theme."
what does he see in rey that no one else does though?? that's the thing I don't get. I'm not anti reylo, I prefer them non-romantic but there's a bit of plausible romantic tension there that I won't deny and I'll roll with it if ep9 goes there. however, I just don't get what reylo shippers, and now driver, claim regarding what ren 'sees' in rey. what is it that he supposedly understands that no one else does? he's certainly not the only person to respect her, like her, love her, know her. he's not the only person who sees her as strong or badass or beautiful. everything worthy about rey, finn and probably han, chewie and leia see too. ren's not the only person to not care about her background... literally no one cares but rey and maybe luke. ren's not the only person to acknowledge the darkness and power within her, luke ONLY saw that at first. so is it that ren's the only person who think's she's - in his words - 'nothing' and 'not a part of the story'? not to him, true, but that's still how he seems to think others see her. he's totally wrong about that, but whatever. is it that he sees her insecurity and relates to it? like... is that it? because tbh that doesn't seem like a very positive thing to me, but ok. I definitely can see him falling in love with her, but idk... I kinda think rey is too good for him XD she should either date someone awesome who'll appreciate her and not see her as a collection of relatable flaws - yes, I mean finn - or stay single. but if reylo will be, it will be, and I just hope it's everything the shippers dream of :)
It's basically because: - They are both lonely (specially Ben, this guy has no friends and that might have helped him do fucked up things more easily LOL Now about Rey, she had parents who threw her away like trash when they're supposed to be strongly attached to her, so she might be looking for someone who's closer than just friends, also someone who understands her. And he does. We all know that when socializing, there are people who make us open up more without much effort, it's a human feature) - Their life was always really hard (I'm not saying Kylo didn't do anything wrong though) - Rey wants to save him because she sees "good in him", and she most likely sees him as person that she could relate to, have a good conversation, you know. - He sees her issues and I think THAT is the most important. It means he knows a lot about her, probably wants to help her. Loving someone isn't seeing this person as "perfect", it's about seeing issues as well and trying to improve, letting this person see where you are wrong too and make you grow as a human being. Also, he spilled the truth about her parents to make her accept what she is, then showing her she can still be an amazing person without relying on them. She needs to move on and "let the past die". The real "she", the one who was sold by her parents, is still important in this world. Not the illusion she wanted to believe. - Maybe (it seems to be true), they appreciate each other's powers and talents, they see they really have strength and potential to work/live together, since they're both powerful with the Force (yeah, the Force surely matters and helps, trust me) - The others are Rey's friends because that's how they see her: as a friend and that's all. Love isn't really something where you'll find 100% of logic, that's why it's about the heart and not the brain. That's why we can't choose who we love (we can just learn to suppress it when it's not good to us). It comes from person to person. - It'd be the most philosophical and poetic choice. Because it wouldn't be just "cute" love, more like the meaningful, smart type. A story about rough times, meeting someone, learning more with them, forgiveness and redemption? How cool would that be?! - They're like, the actors that have more chemistry (it's NOT the most important point, but it's interesting for them to look visually good together, like, "matching" nicely. It's great to see it flowing well with the plot AND the visuals) *But, of course, that's my opinion xD Sorry about the long text, but I take almost everything in this world more seriously, including topics about fictional characters*
I kind of feel like they both have experienced an equal amount of loneliness. Rey grew up with nobody that actually cared about her. Ben, even though he had parents who loved him they were probably not the most attentive. Leia being a princess during the OT and becoming a general at some point later didn't get much time with him and Han was unable to connect with him due to his views on the Force. Basically, he thought it was bullsh*t. That would make for one loney kid. I think they also share a healthy respect for each other. Ben Solo breaks my heart. I can see him struggling to come to terms with things he can't change or when he doesn't know how to express himself without coming out sounding harsh. I know a lot of people thought his words to Rey were insensitive, but he has never lied to her. Finn has, mind you. He's also been fairly gentle with her in a way. I don't know if the next episode will expand on their potential relationship, but I think it will. I will say that I hope Ben Solo is redeemed and lives through the next episode because if he dies a villian every effort from Han, Rey, Leia, and Luke would have been in vain and I think it would be in direct contrast to what Star Wars has always been about.
When people say that Star Wars and Marvel don't have a problem at all, just show all the sjw stuff from the Marvel Comics and Star Wars. Take a look at the picture of the director of the movie: "Female Force" just take a look at the movie Star Wars and see the sjw agendas, it's absolutely ridiculous.
it's not just fan service if JJ already planned it long before TFA was released. JJ said in an interview that the sequel trilogy will have a central romance. Since a romantic attraction was already hinted between Rey and Ben and they are main characters, it's not a giant leap to conclude that the central romance he was talking about was reylo.
it wouldnt be fan service at all..look at rhe Reylo videos..they have been sprinkling this on us the last two movies but they dont wanna say it cuz it ruins one of the twists for episode 9
He wouldn't have made the interrogation scene so intimate if Reylo wasn't the plan from the beginning. Kylo could have extracted the map in the forest.
Indrani DasGupta Just because there was a good girl bad boy romance in both star wars trilogy's doesn't make Rey and kylo not fan service The releationship is in such high demand by fans if they do it, it will be very predictable and it would seem like they would be wanting to please that particular audience of Rey and kylo shippers The definition of fan service This is my own opinion and personally it would seem predictable and disappointing...but if you if you want it to happen fair enough
HollowMist11 There’s a video on here saying that Rian Johnson took back that statement about her parents truly being nobodies and it being for the sake of the novelization of the movie? They may not be twins, because Kylo is 30 and she’s 18-19, but they could be Long separated siblings or cousins. Or not related at all.
Can you give us a link? Because that person might be misinformed. As far as we know, Rian never gave any statements contradicting what was revealed in the movie. He only said Rey's parentage was "still open" insofar as episode 9 is concerned because he shall not be involved in making that movie. JJ Abrams shall have the final say regarding Rey's parentage. However, JJ already hinted that Rey was a nobody back in 2015 (www.esquire.com/entertainment/movies/a14529907/jj-abrams-rey-parents-star-wars-the-last-jedi/). And aside from being the executive producer of The Last Jedi, both JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson reached the same conclusion regarding Rey's parents (www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-who-actually-decided-the-identities-of-reys-parents/). JJ revealing Rey to be from a special lineage would undermine the theme of The Last Jedi which is that anybody can be strong in the force. That was the point of showing broom boy.
He seems to just be speculating. His basis for his speculation, according to the video you sent, just stems from the fact that it's JJ Abrams who has the final say for how Rey's parentage should go and not Rian Johnson. Except, as I already stated in my previous comment, there's no evidence that Rian's vision for Rey contradicted JJ Abrams'.
