Loved this time period of his music. Saw jim many times in cafes in El Dorado, AR. Having wandered the US aimlessly..these songs resonated so and are soundtrack of that period of my life.
Yeah he travels all over. He usually hits Steamboat Springs, CO. every year in January for the big Music Fest there that has tons of other musicians like him. His guitar playing will blow you away in person. He is an amazing singer who hasnt hit the main stream yet. Look up other songs like: Shelly, Play something we Know, Tuesday Night, Buzzes Like Neon.
Way to long since a comments posted, Nothing ever goes as id like, but always told myself Im gonna see Adam Hood Live Before my time is through. Guess theres still time.!
Yep, it's amazing how good he sounds live. Of course talent is a huge part of that, but he also uses very high end instruments and sound equipment. After all, talent can't make the guitar's tone better. Adam Hood is amazing live.
I disagree...I can buy the same high-end guitar and sound equipment, that doesn't mean I have good tone. People have been trying to sound like Jerry Garcia since the 70's, haven't heard anyone pull it off yet
@mckeehan417 lucky! i met him once a few years ago before one of his shows and he seems like a nice guy. ever since i've wanted to play guitar onstage with him. great musician
I came across a video a while back but I can't remember the name of the kid singing or the song he was singing. He was a young-looking kid with glasses, and he had a guitar up on stage at what appeared to be an Apple Convention. Yes, Apple as in Macintosh. Does anybody know the name of the kid/song? Thanks in advance!!!
False. The sound quality on this videao is mind boggeling. I can't believe the tone he gets live. Most musicians would give a kidney to sound like that live. But its good on the album to.
@ bearclawhogs44 he sounds this good all the time live acoustic, but he just can't seem to get the same feel with a full band... adam hood live acoustic is a dang sure buckit list item, he just can't be beat at a gig like this.
I don't know much about contemporary country, and I don't know anything about how people get popular and who knows enough to tell the artists with authority whether they're good or great or not, but I sure hope it isn't the people trying to make money off of radio country. Radio country in my town is just trash. I mean.. with good stuff thrown in that happens to be popular... there are at least as many good pop country musicians as city pop musicians, and I don't know whether it's just my city ear... but the mix seems terrible here in San Diego. Maybe it's just that I don't get as annoyed with the city pop trash as the country I don't like... I have profound respect for the old classics- like Hank Senior and bluegrass and such... but that stuff is from a totally different world than the one we live in. Anyway... Thanks to the people below that listed suggestions for other artists to check out, and if you have anyone to add... just reply please. Adam Hood- to me- is a "Born to." That means born to do what he is doing. To me, his voice is special, the guitar is supporting it enough (meaning not technically excellent, but excellent in context) and his songwriting is really good. All together it is just AMAZING. I just hear something different in him, right through the bad recordings and my cruddy headphones.
