I am a Michigan fan but have become a big Adam Morrison fan. Not because of the way he played - I always knew he was superb. It’s the way he’s handled life since. I hope Gonzaga wins it all and I hope Adam knows that his legacy is not just appreciated by Gonzaga fans but by college basketball fans of all kinds.
I live on the east coast, so every game I listen to the feed on the internet. Adam is so great on the radio. You might expect that he would be a homer, but he calls it right down the middle. Never hesitates to be critical of the Bulldogs when it is deserved. Some of my favorite times are when Adam is commenting on the time out, and what Coach Few is saying in the huddle. Adam was hesitant about 2006/2021, I'll say it, last night exorcised any demons from 2006. Go Zags!
Big ups to DP for the not apologizing comments. People forget that Ammo's early career was marred with injuries. Also this dude is a diabetic, it's a miracle that he even played sports at an elite level. He was drafted to a terrible expansion team that had no interest in real player development and still had a decent rookie season. He would of had better success in a movement system like the the spurs or sloan's version of the jazz offense.
13:25 I was surprised said that again for a second time, it reminded me of the movie "Good Will Hunting" when Robin Williams kept telling Matt Damon, "It's not your fault." 🙄
Great interview, but couldn’t help but notice first time DP mentioned about not apologizing for anything, Adam comments on the UCLA game. Then at the end DP is clarifying as gently as he can like, no I meant for your nba career
It would seem to me that with Adam having type 1 diabetes, that had a big impact on his NBA career. Staying on top of your diet, insulin injections, monitoring your blood sugar levels, etc. must had been rough even though he had a nutritionist/team doctor to aide him, etc. Of course, he had the injury after his initial NBA season but I’m guessing the rigors of playing in the NBA was rough with the diabetes. Seems like Adam has never brought this up. Perhaps he thought people would perceive that to be an excuse although it clearly wasn’t one. Anyhow, great interview and glad that he’s found success in broadcasting.
