With a sequel to the Ridley Scott epic Gladiator in production, we revisit the iconic Maximus armor from the original film by examining this production costume! This hero armor distinguishes itself from other versions by having extra adornments for the celebration scene after the film's first battle. Adam takes a close look at the iconography layered on its surface that makes it one of his favorite film armors!

While I enjoy these kind of videos I think you guys need to combine more of them into a single video in the future. Looking at 1 item so you can squeeze the magic length of 8min for ad rev and to hit your quota for the week is a little lame guys. Giving people 2 or 3 of these as a single video of roughly 20min I think is more reasonable for this kind of content if I'm gonna take what limited time I have to watch it. That said, I do enjoy seeing these cool props when you make this kind of content. (I know you are shooting several of these things all in the same day, so its not like that was all the content there was on location that day, but you choose not to consolidate it into a single video for the above mentioned reasons which I thnk is kinda crappy.)

If you liked Gladiator, you might also like Master and Commander. It's a great Russel Crowe movie and is right up there with Gladiator in opinion.

I was lucky enough to live in the right place at the right time in 1999 and was an extra (Roman Centurion) on the Gladiator set at Bourne wood, near Farnham in Surrey (England). My brother, and several friends spent 2-weeks filming the battle scenes and got to meet Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix and Richard Harris…who offered to take all the extras down the local pub after filming 😉 I also got an amazing insight into how a movie is made, and how chaotic the whole process actually is. I’ll never forget the experience and will remember fondly slowly shuffling up behind Ridley Scott while he was looking at some of the daily rushes on a video display, behind the Roman lines ❤

i remember after the movie the studio was selling all sorts of 'gladiator' props on ebay, mostly swords and armor pieces as i recall. not just a couple, either, like a lot.

Gladiator, one of my favourites.....I have two of the swords from the movie, one from the opening battle scene and a wooden practice sword. Both look as good as the day I got them over 2o years ago. Still 23 years later on display behind my desk.

That director recently threw all the production teams into chaos by bringing filming forward by several weeks and then got multiple members of his own crew blown up in an explosion that the pyrotechnics team advised him against

@@stevemuzak8526 It wasn't stunt men who got injured and it was an explosion that should never have even happened Multiple team members rushed to hospital for skin grafts and at least one of them is dead if not dying, bearing mind one of the main characters died during filming on Gladiator 1 you'd think the director would be a bit more careful

Yes, the live auctions are. Granted, the camera just focuses on the bid caller, but it can still be entertaining, especially when they have a sense of humor. You may need to register as a bidder - I can't recall if I've watched without registering before - but registering is free with no obligation whatsoever to bid.

Of course we all feel sorrow for those on the Titan and their families, but I’d like to know your thoughts on Oceangates design and engineering decisions? I’m sure you have a unique perspective being very creative yourself and wanting to try something new, but then working for years on Mythbusters and in life learning how critical safety is with every aspect of creation.

Adam: To many actors, it's just another film, another role. They don't care about all the props, etc. They really don't. I personally do not see Robert Deniro really caring about his flashy suits from Casino, or Goodfellas. Really.
