For our first unboxing of the new year, Adam and Norm open and check out the 1/6th scale Batmobile replica model from The Batman (2022)! We're gobsmacked by the intricate detail of the vehicle, from its fully decked-out interior to the monstrous engine model in the rear. The modelmakers at Jazzinc Dioramas outdid themselves this time, integrating remote controlled lights, realistic weathering, and even a working engine exhaust effect!

Lovely replica. I worked for Pierre on production where we built the actual batsuit for the film. We also built the “engine” you see in the back of the car, which is all fake. I had the pleasure of putting the weathering and damage on the real car in the bat cave aswell which was pretty awesome

@@JazzIncdioramas haha yeah it was a pretty intense job. It all had to be removable aswell for different sequences throughout the film. But you have done a fantastic job, the whole package is beautiful. I held off for too long due to space, but I then decided I need this so had to jump on the waitlist.

@@SgtStinger so we were costume FX, but we our crew has experience with props from the Harry Potter/beasts films. So we were asked to help out with dressing of the car. We ended up doing the engine, wheel hubs and the bumpers. The incredible Corbould and his team built the cars. I believe there were 3, but yes the engine in the rear is fake. They had a full working V8 I believe in the front of one, the hero car. There was a Tesla electric one for the city night shoots. And then a “pod” car, that had a driving seat on the roof so the cabin could be filmed with Robert acting inside without the distraction of actually driving

I love this Batmobile. It has the distinct look and feel of something modified by a gadgeteer genius in secret, rather than the co-opted prototypes or one-offs that would have required more people to be involved in its construction. One of the things that bothered me with the Tumbler was that there was footage of it made public in the movies, but the US military didn't come calling on Wayne Enterprises to ask how a masked vigilante got his hands on their prototype. It's like the writers didn't understand that the military brass is regularly briefed on prototype progress so that they can request alterations to fit imagined likely deployment scenarios.

This version of the batmobile is becoming my favorite, the way it almost designed like 60's muscle car but at the same time it's very heavily modded and reinforced everywhere, in the movie when this thing starts up and all the villains just look with that face of "oh, we're screwed big time" with that almost ghostly sound, it's awesome.

That Batmobile was made by a Batman that wanted the bad guys afraid; the fear that sound puts out in that scene is incredible! it's like something screaming And Wailling And ROARING FOR YOUR BLOOD and you don't know when it's going to stop or when it will charge you ; it's the most Batman a batmobile has ever been conceptually.

I love Adam, but sometimes the limits of his experience show. The torque wrench is one example, and he recently made a video where he said he thought all the crap 3D printable models on the market were not a fault of the creators, but limitations of the software. Having used all major 3D modelling programs on the market, he is 100% wrong. The software is amazing - the problem is lazy creators.

There was an early suspicion that the rear engine was a triton v10 but it isn't, most probable explanation is that it is bashed in-universe from other components. A crate motor would be traceable but a frankenstein one wouldn't. Its a shell built by Dominic Touhy's team over methane tanks, with a 454 on front. The weight distribution with a plant that large in back is nightmarish, but it'd work for the chaos of a ramming prow. The jet turbine might not be an afterburner but a way to get exhaust out faster. It is no more silly than any other Batmobile and it continues to grow on me. The echoes of the Animated Batmobile are one of my favourite bits.

sorry adam, whoever told you that about the handle on sockets and torque are just wrong. No IFS ANDS or BUTS. Torque wrenches are used to make sure you have the proper level of clamping, be it tight or loose. I have ALWAYS had issues with over-tightening using ratchets, I think I'm just snugging things down but end up being WAY too tight and end up stretching bolts and studs and have to start over with new hardware. On the other end my brother (who is much larger and stronger than I am) is forever leaving things too loose. For years in my fathers garage he would follow behind mechanics who believed as you do that torque wrenches were not needed and find that most were not even close to being correct. Every mechanic was required to use the torque wrenches or be fired, and over the years we lost several mechanics because they refused to torque correctly and it cost many thousands in repairs when their work failed. But that is VERY BAD advice to be saying to the public even as an off hand remark, someone may actually listen and not use a torque wrench when working on their vehicle, and some items, not torqued properly can have fatal results.

Okay, if they can do this, then they can make a Mad Max "Road Warrior" Interceptor in 1/6 scale - or a Blade Runner Spinner. ;-) There must be some weird licensing issues with those two movie vehicles, as nobody ever makes them (apart from the 1/18 AutoArt or Greenlight and that 1/18 Blu-Ray version of the Spinner). But having 1/6 versions of those vehicles for the 12" figures would be incredible. I modified the 1/18 Greenlight Interceptor into a "Road Warrior" version (which involved dremeling die cast, which was a bit dicey lol).

Also, when assembling car engines, not using a torque wrench to tighten the head to the block is practically impossible. Besides new engines require the fancy torque wrenches that measure angles as well

The idea that the length of a handle of a socket set is somehow self regulating when it comes to torque is just insane. Whoever told him that wanted bad things to happen to him and the things he were making. First off: What material are you dealing with? How strong are you? What is the structure of the thing you are dealing with? What is the diameter and material of the bolt? I have friends that can pull from 80% to 200% the torque I can with the same tool.

I'm screaming at my screen, "Open the front hood!" There is no way that doesn't tilt-forward open.

I have the ZSJL batmobile, i exepcted details and a wow factor but nothing prepared me for how amazing it would be. You measure it several times, you look at photos and nothing compares to when it arrives. The workmanship, the quality and attention to detail is mind blowing. The service from jazzinc was also incredible, mine arrived with some flaws in the paint, replacement parts were sent out the day after my email. Not enough good things to say about them

I build custom 5ths scale rcs. You should build that into one for some actual driving it has a nice body style to it.

second fav Batmobile, (first is Batman the Animated Serise). Just all that muscle car energy, looks fast while sitting still, looks like it could be built by one guy in a garage. thank you for sharing, I'm probably never going to buy something in this scale but it's so cool to see one.

The thing is, this is a really cool car but it doesn't really say "Batman!" to me. It would fit in with Fast and the Furious or Mad Max and nobody would bat an eye. No pun intended.
