@@Therapy2Day I dont know about a 'what not to do'. These actions were purposeful. She's a psychopath -- or a malignant narc or something like that. Those people will do what they do, whatever profession they get into. Maybe a look at why her license didnt get yanked but only suspended or put on probation in 2012 would be better. No normal person would ever do what she did to adam to anyone. I saw a clip of Jodie talking about sex within marriage. She said it's about a man devoted to God and a woman deboted to God, and there is no place for lust in that equation. She operates on the belief that all lust and sexual desire is evil and Satanic. Her niece Jessie explained that Jody sees herself as God's own agent on earth, routing out evil in preparation for the imminent 2nd Coming. Grandiosity combined with urgency, and backed by powerful religious entities is a recipe in this case, I fear, for truly unspeakable evil to have been imposed by Jody over decades.

She, in one video, said something about any emotions being evil when your thoughts aren't devoted completely to God - creating that opening to tell people that ANY emotions are evil and require *her* "treatments" 🤦. I think that what makes Jodi so diabolical is the way in which she used her knowledge of psychology to twist thinking and make therapy serve her own ends. I see similarities between child sexual abuse and Jodi’s abuse of her clients. She grooms clients as do sex abusers (the phases of therapy), she isolates and traps victims (insisting they sign to continue and pay for her therapy) and she threatens them (doubting self, smearing reputation, destroying them. You must listen to Adam's first interview. It happened before Ruby & Jodi's arrest. There are some points on his first interview you have to listen to before somebody shut down the video. He said something I immediately noticed from the beginning: Jodi approches the Mormon cult not because of beliefs. She approached the cult because that's the right place to find the perfect prey. Secondly, she lures the wealthiest families/couples. She has a pattern, a "criminal profile of action", and if you listen to his words and read the comments about the people who became her victims, you'll find again the same characteristics of her "hunting". We can't deny what he said: she developped in something smarter, what she does, she does with a purpose and she puts her plans into action.

@@tiger.wolf.2033 Thanks for that info. There is no doubt that some more heinous perpetrators hunt the most vulnerable in our society. I don’t like the way some institutions seem to do the same. On top of her “usual” preferred hobbies, campaigning against a childhood SA survivor is extremely chilling.. I think Jodie’s true goal is to cripple her target’s sexuality. Jodie is completely obsessed with sexual degeneracy, to a pathological extreme! She uses these extremes to disarm, and rewrite her victim’s perception of sexual autonomy. SHE becomes the one in control of their sexuality. In my personal opinion, Jodie’s methods are a form of outright sexual abuse/harassment. In a sense, she stripped Jessi of her innocence, by enmeshing gross trauma with a milestone of sexual development. I don’t believe Jodie believes her own paranoia. She intentionally robbed Jessie of the grace, to explore such heavy topics at a safe and natural pace. I think Jodie enjoys knowing that her victims will forever be imprinted with those actions. It’s how predatory feel powerful. Her entire cult revolves around it! I even believe Jodie gets a form of gratification, from exposing the vulnerable to intense shame, and paraphilic diatribe. Most adults would have a hard time accusing very young children of such things. It just feels wrong! The fact that Jodie has no problems with it, is it’s own extreme problem… I base these opinions on my own (much milder) experience with religious indoctrination. I also have a personal history of childhood trauma I would rather not get into

@@Therapy2Day @be.A.b Actually she was outright guilty of CSA. It's part of the documents and testimony of Adam Steed. At some point when being obsessed with the idea that Adam had to be abusing his daughter, his wife and Jody stripped the one year old, examined her genitalia including the inside, and took photographs. Another therapist reported what they did as CSA. The photographs and description of the physical exam are part of the documents Adam took to court. After court the review board said Jody was guilty of "multiple crimes" but they couldn't charge her because she was too powerful. They could only charge her with being a bad therapist (colluding with the wife) and get her license suspended for a few months. Also important to note that she didn't "share confidential health documents". She made up fake documents about Adam. Then she shared them.

I am in awe of his courage and humility. 2. This clip alone is quite damning in regards to JH's & RF's disgusting accusations against this 12-yr old boy who was horrifically abused. And that 911 call, when the caller repeated to the dispatcher that this child said that he'd deserved his "punishment" was gut-wrenching. I can also say 100% that Mr. Steed is right about Jodi being obsessed with things she thought were "pornography," which were actually just mainstream media such as the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, magazine covers, advertisments & posters featuring women in bikinis, etc. She not only considered these mainstream visual media sources to be "obscene" and "pornography," and seemed obsessive about painting anyone who looked at such media as being sexual deviants and even addicts. To me the Adam Steed story is more upsetting than the Ruby Frankie story. If had some bad experiences with educators in California and in other places. In California I developed a seizure disorder after suffering the Asiatic Flu (1957) Condition developed in 1958. Before 1958 was over a demand was made on my parents to put it the Mental Hospital at Camarillo, California. (This Hospital was converted to a Cal State Campus. Both I and my parents were opposed to this. As time passed we became violently opposed to it. While some educators wanted the Hospital others wanted to give me a normal life. Such was the case with the Junior High School. It took three tries before it worked. Now days it would have been a Baker Act or in California a 5150. It was the Bill of Rights that was my biggest protection. Still I feared, as did my parents, that if I was ever brought before any kind of a juvenile court for any reason except a traffic ticket I would immediately for sent to Camarillo. However I was able to finish High School and go to a College and later a University. For that reason I think BYU deserves to pay for a lawsuit in the case of Adam Steed. I would also like a federal law forbidding University from taking action against students based on information obtained by HIPPA violation or other unlawfully obtained information. If the police cannot bring it to court the College or university cannot use to expel, suspend or take other action against a student. I know I'm sharing a lot but I do so in the hope that someone will find it useful.

I really hope Adam will sue her and his church, because he has been through what would kill most people. His father lost his job and retirement because of the Boy Scouts situation, I guess the LDS church fired him. And that’s not ok. He won’t take donations, but he really needs to. He said give then to his papa. Because his papa changing the laws cost him his retirement and job. He and his father are actually victims we need to support. Because of social media having fake victims that rip people off, people get stuck with that label. But we need to actually help real victims like Adam and his father. That’s wrong what happened to him and most people would be destroyed by what he has been through, and hate to say this but usually cases with kind people like Adam are woefully underpaid as far as the numerical value. It’s shocking how little you can be paid for a serious automobile accidents and then you can’t sue again when more serious symptoms develop after years because many times they don’t show up until years later. So it’s already stacked up legally to be unfair. Rarely do you see people get large awards and it’s draining and costly to go through the legal system, even if your lawyer is working for a percentage, it’s awful. My cousin lost their arms and legs all the way to the shoulder and all the way to the body and she didn’t get a reasonable settlement to help her for the rest of her life and said it was so draining that it about did the family in. You would be shocked at her settlement. And I saw her in the hospital when she was a little girl cause her mother and I are about same age, and her feet and arms were going into necroses and turning black and rotting, she is a girly girl like me so it was so upsetting to watch her in a coma with her limbs rotting off. All because a dr was lazy and didn’t want to deal with a sick child. And to make matters worse she had lost her son from a three wheeler accidents just years before when the neighbors allowed him to ride theirs and it fell on him and killed him, he was still a little boy and she was on 20\20 talking about the dangers so they have had horrible tragedies. And she didn’t know that the neighbors had allowed him to ride it until it happened. Adam and his dad deserve the huge awards for all the horrible stuff that happened because they did the right thing! The LDS church then tried to spread bad information and even tried to get them to not marry him and his ex wife because of being a Boy Scout whistleblower. And I think they used Jodi to get dirt and personal information on him! This is not unusual for there church law firm and the church leaders to do. Instead of being a hero and thanking him and his father they excoriated him and tried to ruin his reputation. I wish Adam nothing but joy and happiness and peace and happiness and a rightful reckoning for him and all the other victims.

Jodi is a very extreme example, but much of what she did with Steve (and I'm only talking about what Steve is reporting) is basically the norm for therapists who are faithful to LDS teachings. Reporting about clients to church leaders, telling people how they should think about things, coaching others around the client on how to treat the client are actually expected of them. I had LDS therapists who did just that and were instructed to do so by the policies of the LDS church.
@Therapy2Day
@Therapy2Day 11 месяцев назад
Thanks for sharing. How much of a problem do you feel that is? For me, I think it's a little bit like seeing a biblical counselor; if you know what you are signing up for and have freedom to ditch if you want, then by all means. I maybe wouldn't agree with all the interventions, but if the client has given informed consent, then that's up to them
@ryanhollist3950
@ryanhollist3950 11 месяцев назад
@@Therapy2Day The thing is a lot of these people don't really have the option to leave. They are told they must go to these counselors by their religious leaders or no one at all. It's not even a matter of getting financial support, it's a matter of these are the only people who can give "proper" treatment and help. Going to other therapists would be inappropriate and possibly spiritually damaging (as they will not hold to the teachings and positions of the LDS church). Looking at it from the top down, informed consent is not a concept the LDS church and culture really follow.
@Therapy2Day
@Therapy2Day 11 месяцев назад
@@ryanhollist3950 ah well that's problematic. Sounds like you are quite familiar, is there any way that you can see of loosening that so church members might have a choice to see who would serve them best?
@ryanhollist3950
@ryanhollist3950 11 месяцев назад
@@Therapy2DayPerhaps I am painting it a bit too strictly controlling. It's a matter of what's called "bishop roulette," the random chances of how a particular local leader may view certain issues and how they deal with them. The big point, if someone is asking their church leaders to help pay for therapy they must go to those who have been vetted to toe the line with church ideology. There is probably some options to move within that group if one needs to find a better fitting therapist, but that may not always be the case. In my personal case I was serving as a missionary for the church and there was only one therapist in the area with absolutely no option to see any other. (She contributed to driving me to a suicide attempt and developing PTSD, all the while acting in accordance to how she was directed to by the church.) Otherwise, if someone is not getting the church involved for support in finding or paying for the therapy, it's not against the official policies of the church to see whomever you want and local leaders cannot discipline members for doing so. Still, it is discouraged to get counseling from one who isn't a faithful member. As for the issue of informed consent it goes well beyond just this issue. The LDS church is notorious for how it hides, lies, and manipulates information people are allowed to know. In my experiences with church approved counselors I do not recall being conspicuously informed that they worked the way they do (i.e., have a variant code of ethics from other therapists) and would be reporting to my local leadership (and perhaps others) about my case.
@Therapy2Day
@Therapy2Day 11 месяцев назад
@@ryanhollist3950 yikes. I don't know how most church approved therapists (who I assume are well meaning and otherwise state licensed, etc) reconcile the problems inherent in that kind of situation. Should have seen the episode of Mormon stories with Adam pulse deed on that podcast. Somehow a judge in Utah signed a restraining order forcing Mormon stories podcast to take that episode off of all social media platforms. Which is really sad because that poor kid was done wrong by the LDS Church,and Jodi Hildebrandt. According to him Jody Hildebrand had a pattern of convincing women to withhold affection from their husbands to punish them, from masturbating and/or p*** watching. She also testified in court that Adam Paul Steed will probably be a future child predator because of his abuse that he suffered in BSA as a kid. He had emails that showed, she coached women on how to manipulate the criminal justice system to punish their husbands. It is a horrific story!. It's doubly horrific because the Mormon Church convinced him to be a good little Mormon boy, and not sue for punitive damages as well. He did get a settlement from the Mormon church and an NDA agreement that he would not disclose how much they gave him. Needless to say he used almost all of it up protecting himself legally from his wife and Jody Hildebrand.
