Joo was such a joy to watch. Win or lose, he always created thrilling scenes against top players in the world! I am so happy that I got to see him play again thanks to Adam!! 👍👍
That was so much fun! JSH looks very humble and a fun person to be around. Lot of respect for him for showing the world that defender can exist and thrive at the top. Like he mentioned in the last video the game has become difficult for the choppers, but I hope the style doesn't die out. Many sports converge to an 'optimum' playing style and TT certainly seems to be doing the same. Coaches will mostly refuse teaching anything other than the current 'meta'. The choppers, penholders, etc are who keep the game different and interesting. I hope they keep on fighting.
Apparently the switch first to larger balls and then later from celluloid to plastic balls significantly decreased the ability of choppers to put enough spin on balls to stay competitive, and thus essentially all elite players are close to the table attackers these days.
Love your olympic table tennis matches casting. Incredible and so insightful we're so lucky to have such a knowledgeable commentator. I'm sure you convinced many people to try table tennis after watching the matches you casted!
yeai was flipping through olympics and saw table tennis. Evnen was like "they should have adam cast these" as he was casting....then I listened closely and realized my fauxpas.
Joo Sae Huyk’s attacks are underrated if you ask me. Watching his matches, I noticed that he times his attacks really well and even the best players like Ma Long have a trouble keeping up when Joo suddenly goes into offense.
@@АлишерМакашев-ж1ш TBH I wouldn't say 'underrated' as he's known to attack more than we'd expect other defenders to and one of the reason he was so successful.
It's legends like Joo Sae-hyuk and others who were willing to stay humble and share their knowledge/ secrets that keep all sorts of sports/ ART to be passed forward to the new generations and evolve. Thanks, Adam for keep bringing these highly professional people.
For me there's one other person... My 7 year old asked me about that song recently and why he sees it all the time in other videos. I explained the concept of Rick rolling and how people try to prank each other by tricking each other into clicking on that video. About a week later, he ran into the room holding his tablet and said he found the coolest video ever. Then he clicked play and turned the screen so I could see it. My 7 year old son Rick rolled me IRL.
Adam is so dedicated to the community. He has been commentating the Olympics and still finding time to edit and upload videos. This is what an influencer should be 🙌
Joo Sae-Hyuk has been my favorite player to watch because of his legendary defensive skills that I grow up watching and admire! I even asked the members of the table tennis club I’m playing here in Busan, South Korea and they all know him and respect him because of his charisma, skills and personality! 💜
Joo is THE chopping legend in the recent decades of table tennis❤ Glad to finally see him on your channel. Though I think he held back in the first 2 sets... 😬 This calls for a rematch! 🎉
What Joo said at 10:39 was "그렇지" meaning "here it goes" or "yes" in Korean. Pretty common phrase in Korean TT like chole, c'mon, and vamos. It was honorable to see Joo and Adam playing together🙌
great games! i think it's incredible (a testament to Adam's skill) to get these points at all against such a highly esteemed player. wow. really fun to watch Joo switch from defense to offense and back to defense so easily. his style (and Adam's) makes TT so fun to play and watch.
I've never seen anything related to Brazil 🇧🇷 in your channel. You should definitely do something! I am a fan and know through personal experience you have a lot of Brazilian fans who would love to see you coming here and/or playing with a famous brazilian such as olympic athletes Hugo Calderano or Bruna Takahashi. Thanks! Keep Doing your content, you're Amazing!❤🇧🇷
I love the energy and the smile of Joo Saehyuk here as an avid fan of him😊 I followed all his style and all his equipment. More power to my idol Joo Saehyuk and as well to you Adam as my favorite Channel ❤
It's great hearing you commentate at the Olympic games. I was like "wait a minute, i know that voice" when i heard you in the men's quarter final with france vs Taiwan I think
Whenever he won against Timo in the Olympics in singles and shattered his medal dreams in singles I kinda hated him for a little bit. But this video redeemed it for me. What a nice guy. Thanks for his awesome career and his sportsmanship. True legend.
Joo made a good point with why no attack, for passive/defensive players it's usually easier to play a bit above their level as the opponent will keep attacking.
Hi Adam! Last year i discovered your channel and i love your videos ever since. You show how much fun playing table tennis is and inspired me to join our local table tennis club! Next week four day training camp.🏓 Wish you all the best! 🌞💚 Will you attend the Europen Championchips in Austria?
awesome video. clearly he can still play. players at that level stay good forever if he's warmed up and a real game, he'd kick some serious arse still.
Are you in Paris? Perhaps picking out your next challenge? Lots of good players to choose from in Japan, Sweden, China, Netherlands. Looking forward to a post Olympic challenge.
3:06 at a certain point the spin tops out. The reason why you failed your loop is because you received a high ball and 1. Refused to use more power and less spin 2. Decided to hit it in the same place despite it being behind higher and you standing taller. If you had taken advantage of the high ball and used 80% power and 20% spin, it would've come over with less spin and be easier to attack. I hope this helps any beginner
Wow I was a big fan of him since 2012. I even wrote him on my essay for one of my final exams when I was in middle school in China. I was really sad when I heard he was suffering from an extremely rare disease that cannot be cured by modern science. Apparently, all of his body functions would slowly deteriorate, so it's good to see him playing and staying healthy today.
Adam's game has really improved. He used to give 7-0 leads to top women and lose. Now he's giving a 7-0 lead to one of the all time great men, and he wins! Almost Bowing him out in straight sets. Amazing!
