Title kinda caught me off guard, I read it as “Adam was wrong to interview pops k****, so I’ll do it myself” 😂 but yeh I agree with ur sentiments Wayno.
“It's like New York's been soft Ever since Snoop came through and crushed the buildings” This was said in 1998 and it’s been the truth since . The west is only coast in hip hop that will band together over their artist . Meaning if somebody touched one of their guys it would be a no fly zone and podcasters like Adam wouldn’t dare put out such a video . NYC hip hop scene has made far too many people comfortable.
@realfloxks__0637 - lol @ you calling me dense and reading out of context . If you read my post it wasn’t about Cali gun violence . It was about one of their artist being killed in another city and the ramifications of said act. NYC doesn’t have the same type of unification thus people in industry like Adam 22 are not afraid of insensitive post like the one we are talking about.
Hey @@Wayno119 do you think with pop smokes sudden rise of fame and momentum that he would’ve had a bigger wave then 50 and do you also think with his momentum he would’ve had a lot of stigma and hate as 50 Cent in what future opportunities do you think he would achieve outside of hip-hop
I don't see any changes until everyone on board starts dealing with accountability from the parents, OGs, record labels, streets, etc. There are no rules or guidelines out here.
Wayno I ain’t even know u had a channel bro. I’m bout to blow ya shit up bro u a real hip hop head and real one who knows wat time it is. We def gotta elevate ya platform to where it belongs 🙌🏽
I have love for a lot of people in Cali for real I also don’t like seeing brothers from different neighborhoods going up there and basically being put against one another like pit bulls
I think the interview was good because now the dude will forever be a pariah and he will never be looked at as a normal person. The interview showed how awkward he has to be to cope with being connected to the death.
Finally, a California person with some real sense and care in his heart for his community. It’s not all about the gang members in LA culture. What about black culture hip-hop culture yeah just worry about this ain’t us or we not like them but Smoke Nipsey Hussle and the list goes on.
Facts. And the amount of comments I see of people saying “who cares” or “oh this is where we draw the line” shows me that hip hop has failed itself by being to welcoming..now we have a bunch of people who don’t gaf about the culture that influence the culture..example Adam 22. But black folk will keep riding for him because he “gets to the bag” smh
No, Adam 22 was not wrong for interviewing Pop’s killer, he just showed he doesn’t give a shit about the culture, the culture was wrong for supporting and blowing up that vulture’s platform.
I don't think he was wrong for doing the interview. People feel differently about it because Pop Smoke was a star. Da Baby did an interview, the guy who shot King Von did an interview. Cassidy the Hustler and battle rapper, Gucci Mane. The list goes on. I just can't see this as anything other than a double standard.
Everyone you mentioned were artists that went through unfortunate situations, again “ARTISTS” this is a kid who committed a home invasion because him and his homies ain’t have nothing to do that day. Also just because you’re mentioning those artists don’t make them no better either , just stay on topic bro.
Other than the guy that killed Von I don’t think him doing interviews is cool either. So now , kill someone and you’ll be rewarded for it with attention and notoriety huh? Never mind how anybody feels?
@Wayno119 I just don't think it's that big a deal. We seem to have so much to say about this, youg man, because he's not an artist. But you blame Adam 22 for having him on, Adam 22 also gave a lot of people there start. My question in all honesty is why shouldn't the guy be interviewed? I would imagine people want to know.
@@Wayno119people can feel a lot of different ways about this. That's what's great about free expression. I'm pretty sure, the families of the victims involved, with the Dahmer Netflix joint didn't appreciate there family members being turned into spectacles. I'm pretty sure people who survived the Crack epidemic of the 80s didn't appreciate seeing it dramatized on Snowfall. Sammy the Bull is doing interviews and podcasts after being released from prison and that dude killed like 12 people. I say this is double standard.
That’s not cool either , there’s no way to stop anything. Just because I’m talking about this doesn’t mean I don’t have issues with what you’re speaking about.
Were you offended when Pac’s killer was running around doing interviews? Or is it NY bias? If it’s about “morale” how you say, keep the same energy for every killer that gets interviewed- especially when they took out someone from the culture. Otherwise, it’s fake outrage. I’m not an Adam22 fan btw. It’s annoying that we (Black people) only get “offended” when it happens to someone we like.
Yea I don’t like seeing black people doing tours to talk about killing other black people to answer ya question. I knew pop so of course there’s bias there which isn’t a problem in my eyes. I also knew Nipsey and would be just as mad if not more mad if people were interviewing Eric holder. 🤷🏾♂️
@@Wayno119 Then it’s not really about morale & what’s “right” or “wrong.” Morale doesn’t change based on who it is. People can interview whoever they want to interview. We can think it’s tasteless but our personal biases shouldn’t override the right to free press. What if it was actually illegal for you to have your opinion? We all have our personal biases, that’s cool. Say that. Don’t hide behind the guise of “morale.”
