Great review Rick, I have been using the Adams since January replacing a Taylor Made RBZ Tour 3 wood and agree with your review. Where it really has the edge is from the rough where the shallow head and Adams shape really allow you to make great contact keeping the distance you would get from a normal fairway. Your right about the grip looking forward to replacing mine with a Lamkin Crossline cord in the winter overhaul. It's going to need something pretty special to get the Adams out of my bag.

Rick, are you 100% sure fairway wood's don't have COR restrictions like driver's? I believe that used to not but I think that's changed please investigate. By the way, Iomic's are my favorite grip.

Rick can you do a review on the adams tight lies 5 wood please.....I'm struggling to find a 5 wood because all the heads are too big and off fairways I think a shallower head is required for me....I've tried the ping g20 5 wood but just not consistent and people are are saying adams tight lies 5 wood may be the answer

Why do reviewers never mention price on RU-vid? It's one of the most important details about the club. I know it will be a different price everywhere but it would give us an idea. (No pun intended) I'm guessing Adams+titanium=expensive

Hi Rick. Well guess what? Yesterday, I received my brand new Adams Tight Lies 3 wood for 2021. I guess they are back in business. Available only on website ordering so far. I am in the Toronto Canada area, but the club came from Indiana in the U.S. Here is the weird part. The club came from Taylor Made. Do they own the Adams golf company now? I guess we will find out. Anyways, I had the first two Adams Tight Lies models way back when they first came out. After a 20 year break, it was time for another one as I really love this club. Available in 16 and 19 degree 3 wood and 5 wood with a nice Aldila shaft. So far I have not seen any feedback or reviews on the new Tight Lies, so I decided to check to see if you have heard anything about them. Just waiting for this 2 feet of snow to melt to try it out.

i'm an high handicap and i pick this club online with redeems point (for free as well). Not voluntary make choose the 3+ (13,5), quite hard to hit from the floor in the beginning, then we make a lovely friendship and every par 5 or long par 4 aren't scary enough. Over 190\195 avg mt from the floor. A cannon! I love this club, one of my fav in my bag for sure.

I was looking for a replacement of my Adams super hybrids with witch I was struggling. I saw the review from Rick and a great offer at direct golf, Adams Tight Lies 2 FW Titanium for 80 BGP !!! Really great offer, stunning and very easy to hit straight fairway woods. A lot easier imo than the hybrids I was playing. Today I was training in rainy conditions here in the NL, on a par 5 I hit 4 balls from 220 yard as a second shot with the tight lies 2 FW 5.... 3 out of 4 on the deck... WOW I'm over the moon with these. The 3 Wood is only 12 yards shorter than my driver, maybe I'll replace my Cobra driver for a Tight Lies 2 strong wood 13,5 Degrees ??

I can't tell you just how many 3 woods I have been through......looking for the one !! Seriously every brand and make I've hit over the last 10 yrs.....trying to replace my old 3 ... cheap (Black Steel margining 15*) My buddies hated when I would pull it out because it was money every single time !! My bag was stolen at an airport and have never found anything that worked as well.......Titleist 915f was ok.......but for the most part......I gave that club up and went with a 2 iron that I bent to 16*.......However----after watching Rick's video......I checked into the Adams as it looked very similar to my Blackie......and I ordered one in 15* with the same bassara but stiff........took it to the range and was highly impressed......everything Rick said was right on the money.......but it needed to play the same.........so , first time I used it on a course in a Tourney......2nd hole par 5........killed my drive and had 217 to a small green on top of a hill......so about 230 and only way to get there in 2 was my 3 wood..........set up and ripped it........nice small draw and very high......landing 8ft behind the hole and it stayed.......wow......been awhile since I have even gone for a par 5 in 2........absolutely loving this club!!!! Even this weekend, on a long par 3......208 into a very strong wind....all carry over water........bang......pin high just off the green.......Thanks for the review Rick .....this 61 yr old man is happy !!!!!

How do you line up with the tight lies,like a Driver or a hybrid in the center of your stance???? I'm not getting any results with the club. I'M HITTING IN 1 -2 INCE GRASS. SHOULD IT BE SHORTER Grass? Please HELP or I'll send the club back Thank you

I have the original Adams Tight Lies 16 Degree 19 Degree 5 Strong 24 Degree 7 Strong 28 Degree 9 Strong They were in my grandpa's clubs that I got when he passed away. I've never played any of them and they all look unused. I'd be willing to mail them to you if you'd like to use them for a video if you'd be willing to pay for shipping.

Tight lies 2014 is the best club ive ever had

I like the club but have to try it. I had one in '97; it looked fabulous but was undewhelming. Rick, you look sooo much younger/better without the beard. Sure, it's fashionable and I get it but move on.

weird you feel so strongly about the iomic grips at the beginning, iomic makes a soft product with a firm core that is designed to reduce moi or twisting from release. iomic and no1 both are very popular on tour. Dustin Johnson was famous for iomic but to each their own. cheers bud!

A year ago, I bought the same Tight Lies hybrid # 3, 4 and 5 to replace some irons, they are so easy to hit and a lot more practicle in a lot of situation, I am 69 and llike to play in the 70, a bad game is over 80 and then I get mad for 15 seconds..........lol.......M.T.

Rick, I've reverted back to the original (or nearly original) tight lies 2 (spin control) 4 wood in 17 degrees. Ugliest club I've ever looked at, or swung. But so easy to hit off any lie APART from fluffy rough... then the shallow face just skies the ball... obviously. Adams are still seriously underrated I think. I picked up my tl2sc for a tenner off eBay... Inc delivery! Love it. Off a tiny winy tee on a tight par 4 or as a bullet approach to a par 5. Keep up the good work fella.

The shafts in the Adams are so light I just can't take them seriously. I also can't justify $300 for a club then another $150 or so for a decent shaft. I didn't see anything appealing in their custom option list.

Rick. I'm in the market for a fairway wood that has a shallow face like these tight lies models. Is the titanium just as shallow as the tight lies 2 (black and blue)? Are there any other fairway woods as shallow as these that make it easy to lunch the wood? Thanks

really like ricks reviews and channel. enjoy watching him swing. enjoy the course vlogs. like seeing new content. i just really wish he would do some more research on the products before publishing a review. calling the grips out for being budget when they are arguably the most popular grip in custom market and easily the most popular grip in the east is a bit rubbish. adams has been trying to stand out by offering the best clubs with genuine shafts (not "made for" versions and top components. glad to finally see some tight lies love on the channel...cant believe this is only the second time.

Would like to see you test their newest one!?

I have the the tight lies 16 Deb & it's great the slot in the top is a bit weird @ first but you get used to it & it can help with alignment I had the Taylor Made rocket balls 3 wood great of the tee & can't hit it off the deck!!!

I currently have the Adams pro hybrid in my bag, and OMG it's one hell of a club. Great off the tee and off the deck, has got me on par 5's in two. I have tested the old xtd driver and 3 wood and honestly can see why people are playing Adams clubs. They are so easy to hit, and they are straight and very forgiving. I would go to Adams clubs but they are a tad pricey

Got the old tight lies 5 wood as i don't get on with hybrids. It's the perfect 5 wood to be honest. For me, I'd rather have something a little more driver-like for a 3 wood so that I can also hit off the tee if needed. But the tight lies are a perfect 5 wood choice - especially if you don't like hybrids

i own one of these and it is the most used club in my bag just about, so easy to hit off any lie imaginable I've hit it out of sand,deep rough,dirt, not willing to hit it off a cart path because i love it to much but i do believe it would be just as easy, the best part about the club is the trajectory and distance dosent really get affected by different lies. recommend for every golfer under the sun especially if you struggle with woods of the turf.

I watched this video a few weeks ago and was intrigued. I stopped in at Golfsmith the other day to look around and saw one on sale massively discounted (it was the floor model). After playing it today I have to say it is a delight. I could easily see it becoming the most versatile club in my bag. I feel like I robbed the store at the price I got it at ($50). I think everyone should go to their local gold shop and give it a go.

Great video Rick. Other manufacturers are creating larger headed woods (deep or 1.5) for use off the tee but here we have a shallow face long hitting fairway - very interesting.

I have the 2013 tight lies three wood. It actually shows the slot where the new one has the ghost slot. Just curious as to the what the differences are between the tight lies and the tight lies titanium editions?

just wondering if you could review the callaway apex and apex pro irons.

Great video Rick Shiels PGA I will have to test this one. My dad still plays the original Tight Lies that I used to game when I was in high school. Classic design and so versatile!

I still use an Adams xtd ti 3 wood at 15 degrees 235-250 regularly and the stiff red tie is an awesome shaft

Great testing as usual. The consistency with the Adams fairway wood seemed exceptional. I know you always hit the ball well so not being facetious but we're you hitting it particularly well that day or was it down to the bat?

Hooking the crap out

I just picked one of these up with head cover for $20 and it's basically in brand new condition 😍 Edit: Played with it today for the first time. I have the strong 3+ at 13.5 degrees, and no joke, this thing has rocket fuel in it. It easily goes as far as my ST190 driver. I hit it today about 290 yards.... Amazing feel and sound.

Really like that 3 wood! I normally stick to Titleist or Ping but I could easily see me getting one... I don't like the headcover though, and yes, I'd have to re-grip it straight away. Where in the UK can you get properly fitted though?

Wouldn't call the IOmic grips cheap and tacky....( having used GolfPride, Winn, and others I prefer IOmic grips)....might not be to your taste but plenty of users in the States would disagree......suggest you look at their website.........otherwise a great video. : )

Rick, a year on now, do you still think this is a good club to have in the bag? I carry the Adams S Line #4 hybrid and can absolutely smash it, but I'm needing something off the tee for those tight treelined par 4s my driver hates. I can fetch a new Adams Ti 3 wood for $47.99 here in the States now, and it seems like too good of a deal to pass up. Cheers!

Head cover looks bad. Grip looks bad. Design of the club looks good and it's performance looks great! Super impressed.

Great club. I think fairway technology is where the excitement is at the moment. The regulations seem to have pretty much stifled driver development. I am absolutely loving my Calloway 12deg 1.5 fairway and haven't regretted replacing my driver with it once. These new funky fairway woods coming out now are absolutely amazing :-)

Have been waiting for this review. My fitter put me in an Adams Tight Lies Ti 3 wood, have had the club just over a month and have fell in love with it. I had avoided my RBZ 2 3 wood because of inconsistency, but now I find myself looking forward to the situations where I can pull it out and hit it. For the first time in my golf career, I feel confident going for some par 5's in two that I had always laid up on. Great club!
