I had a catastrophic massive stroke. I used the jar opener, an electronic can opener and my cutting board. I cook three meals a day. I love to cook, bake and eating well.
I recommend you try using your left hand as much as possible otherwise it will get worse. I'm left side hemiplegic as well and none of the above are helpful in the long run. Use it or lose it.
Thank you for this video. I'm a stroke survivor and paralyzed since September 2019 on the right side. I spend most of my time in a electric wheelchair. Due to weight gain I can no longer eat bread. My doctor told me I need more protein. Sort of like the Atkins diet he wants me on. I was looking for a way to cut steak with one hand. The cutting board with spikes could help. I already have the jar opener and a smaller size. Whenever I have a jar I usually stick it between my legs and twisted it with my left hand. If that doesn't work then I used the jar opener. If you have more adaptive equipment besides the three that would be great to show on video. Oh by the way I'm using a voice to text program for typing. I don't use it 100 percent because I can type with my left hand but it's difficult.
@stevekierstead, I actually like the adaptive cutting boards with the angled pieces like the one I showed in the videos. It's not always perfect but those raised, angled pieces on the cutting can help keep your bread or toast from sliding around!
two questions for people that have electric knife 1: how stable are / how well the electric knife is cutting so the objects wont move when you attempt to cut them ? 2: how long an electric knife reasonably last. the blade should reasonable get dull after some time, right? thank you for the clarifications , i cant use the fingers on my left hand following my stroke
@@cristianmicu they are very stable and cut through everything Cooking is my hobby I couldn't cook without it or the food processor. I cook everything that i did before my stroke
