I would like the option to disable some account features for added drivers. As the owner I should have privacy and the main control of my glove box etc..

How does the billing work for supercharging when someone else is logged in? Does the main owner pay the bill or the driver profile that is currently driving?

I see all videos are about how to grant access to someone else. But nobody explains how that someone else get to access to the car from the app on theirphone

They just have to log into the Tesla app on their phone using their Tesla account... you know, the account that you just granted access to the car. Everyone involved has to have their own Tesla account.

Interestingly seeing this after 2 years in May 2022, now that the dashcam/sentry recording functionality is available, I am in the process of finding out for the added driver, how to I disable them from accessing/deleting dashcam/sentry clips saved on the usb/ssd drive.

Yes, very much so. It didn't take too much fiddling to get prints looking pretty good, though I still have some learning to do. PETG sticks extremely well to the powder coated steel sheet!

Thanks this was super helpful. I notice they just updated the user app without any notification. Does Tesla send out any notices regarding certain updates especially towards app sharing preferences and things like that? Thanks again!

For the most part, Tesla springs stuff on owners with little to no warning and we just have to figure it out.

I spoke to a Tesla agent a few months ago and as of then, they didn’t have that capability enabled unfortunately

I might have missed it, but did you mention supercharging? Does it get charged back to original owner or does added client have facility to put in their own card details?

I'm pretty sure it's billed to the owner for the time being, but all of my cars have free Supercharging... so I can't really test it. I'm sure they'll add things like user based billing as time goes on.

Tesla has completely changed the process--everything is done through the Tesla mobile app now. I need to make an updated video.

So how would you sell a tesla with this whole tesla account deal and being able to track the car from the app? Do you delete your tesla account when you sell or what?

You used to have to email Tesla to have the car removed from your account, but there's now a button on the site to remove a car from your account. The new owner just has to provide Tesla with proof of ownership (registration) and ID to have the car added to their account.

You know my problema with this tesla. My wife will know where ever I go... may be people who always open with there wife is ok. But she will know where ever you go with tesla app

I haven't done that yet. My guess is that the process of adding the Powerwalls to her account will be something like the old process for adding the cars (e-mail the Powerwall team & ask). I'm probably going to wait until the second house is finished & have both systems added to her account at once.

Yes. All of the delivered Tesla products associated with your account will appear in the app. For example, I have two Teslas and a home Powerwall system and all I have to do is swipe left/right to switch products or select one from the app's product menu.

This is a really good first step. I have questions like how long it takes from the time you add/remove a user in your account till it gets to that person's app but that's trivial. Bravo Tesla.

I haven't timed it or anything, but the add/remove process through the website seemed to propagate to the app fairly quickly while I was making this video.
