Love how at the beginning ur just like "Yeah uhh... clothing." but by the end you're just calling it the femboy outfit. Character development in real time.
I don't know if the option was there from the start, but if you got multiple clothes sets, you can use "Toggle" and "Flipbook builder" option to cycle between them.
Oh, I appreciate this so much! I'm an absolute baby when it comes to 3d models and your explanation and visual instructions have helped so much!! Thank you so so much!
thats what i need to know too. as the body is working with blend shapes just fine, but when i try to find the blend shapes on the cloths, they are not there, so i cant find and fix the issues.
i think i may have found out whats up. go into blender after you have put for outfit in it, click on your outfit. got to Data: object data properties ( it will look like a weird upside down green triangle. under the Vertex Grounds tab, there is a Shape Keys tap if Shape Keys box is full of words, that means its okay. but if your Shape Keys box is empty, that means the creator didnt make any of the extra shapekeys for it, and you will have to do it yourself. i hope this helps.
I should've watched this tutorial first. Holy christ I went through so much pain going through other tutorials. even 40 minute long ones. all failed and finally I came to you after half of a day and oh my god... I was so fucking stoked I could finally put my outfits on my avi. and it was so god damn easy too. so thank you for guiding my dumb ass to joy.
If the blendshape doesn't exist on your object and only the body, you can add a blendshapes toggle option to your toggle alongside your object toggle by hitting the plus on the VRCfury toggle component. That way you can manually configure blendshapes even if they don't exist on your object. :)
It worked on my first avi, but now with my other one, its linking to the body but not to the arms and legs... both are set the same way with the hips. What could be causing it?
Is it possible to use this workflow if the clothes arent made specificaly for my avatar? For example, I found a cool free jacket prefab on Booth and wanted to add it to my original avatar. I tried this method, but not only do the clothes scale strangely on play mode, but the sleeves also dont follow the arms.
What if I have an avatar that is T posing, and the clothing I wish to put on is at an A pose? Are those able to attach to each other? Or do the clothes and the avatar have to be aliened up perfectly?
So I am having a little issue, I got the toggles and blendshapes to work. But in unity when the blendshapes are activated there is a tiny bit of clipping. I think its a weight paint issue but could be wrong has anyone had this happen and know how to fix it?
I have a question. Say your avatar already comes with a default outfit on and an additional one. between those two, there is a smooth transition when changing. But how do you get that to happen to any other outfits added with VRCFury? I have the new outfit in the same sub menu as the additional outfit that came with the avatar. So I've already made the toggle but whenever I try to test it out with the gesture manager, the clothes clip through the original outfit the avatar has. I would really appreciate the help!!
Question how do you make it where when you trigger a certain clothing like a dress to make it automatically toggle off the top or bottoms? And how do ya get certain clothing blendshapes trigger when other object or clothing is triggered?
hey, can u help me? For some reason, i do all the tutorial correctly, but when i go to the game, "works", but when i walk the cloth dont follow the avatar, or follow with a BIG delay, and if i crouch, the cloth dont follow too, stays on the position that when im stand, how to fix it?
does the asset have to be made for the model im using or can i just sculpt it to fit and if so do i have to do anything else for it to work with the model? i’m fairly new to avi stuff lol
This tutorial was a big help! But im having a problem with the chest physbones not moving the clothing with the chest. So it causes the chest to clip through clothing rather than the clothes moving with the chest. Is there a way to fix this?
When i go to upload my avaatar i have to keep the clothing i added to him toggled on or else the toggles wont work, how do i make so the clothing is added even when turned off in the editor ?
so i did this with an avi i was working on and when the outfit is on no one else but myself can add it everyone else sees the avi nude when the outfit is equipped how can i fix this?
I'm still so confused on the "no valid mapping found" part since I'm not using novabeast and I don't know what I need to look for TwT can someone tell me what I need to do?
@@PxINKYno the clothing is not made for the avatar im using. I edited it to fit in blender I'm trying to attach a Deira sweater to a base call Sophorn
Question: The avi I have has blendshapes but everything is already set so I don't use any blendshapes with this avatar in game. Do I skip the Blendshape Link for this and go straight to Toggle?
OMG TYSM This video will help me a lot. I've played VRChat for some time, and now I'm starting to buy some avatars and some clothing, but I got ZERO knowledge at all of how to retexture, add stuff on Unity, etc. Could you make a video explaining how to add multiple clothing to one avatar and how would it be done to manage the toggles of them?
This tutorial is just that! this will easily work with multiple outfits all you have to do is change the menu names and such! that being said, id 100% suggest learning how it works without scripts first to get a better fundamental grasp on avatar creation!
@@PxINKY I tried to set up some avatars... the first few times it didn't went well, but now I'm managing to do it, and change oke thing or another I want to learn how to retexture now... Some avatars are pretty simple, but for full retexture may take more effort lmao
You would want IDEALY it to have the full leg armature from hips if there is only 2 bones (left foot, right foot) then you would attach left foot to left foot, then make another armature link, and attach right foot to right foot
You would follow my fitting guide, as it sounds like your clothing isnt made for your armature If you want to fit it easily you can pose the bones in blender and set the pose as rest
the outfit should have multiple meshes (objects) but should still only have 1 armature so just duplicate the toggle you use for each piece and this video should still work the same
Yo.. for real tysm this helped me so much. after seeing how to do my head just started working by itselfand was like.. mhmm then this is how it should be to take off clothes and change blendshapes. i kinda have it figured out thanks to u. thank you so much will definitely come back so i dont forget. does this work if i wanna add like accessories to body/head/ears? thats only for future ofc hahaha still have lots to learn
@@PxINKY I somehow from the glimpse of what i could see/ understand, did it 😭 This was the one tutorial i was relying heavy on because the other ones are outdated. IRREGARDLESS than you for having an up to date tutorial
@@PxINKY is there anyway you can make a update video for the toggles can see what it is your telling us to do for the add a action was not able to find it on my project
Is there a way to make it so that it keeps the clothes toggled on when i switch avatars instead of reseting my toggles? other than that great tutorial really helped me out!
As long as the armature / outfit is made for your specific base / rig then yes! Otherwise youll need to refit the outfit to your armature (i have a video for this too)
Not bad. Though as unfortunate as it is, I don't see a lot of in depth technical stuff for which Udon can be used. There's just way too many limitations that make dynamic world building very difficult.
Yeah, mixing editable code and interaction systems with none-destructive modularity is only going to be an absolute mess i do wish there where more QOL tools for avid world creators (im not one, so maybe there is?)
@@PxINKYI'm not a corporately hired game developer anymore, I just do game dev for fun. The thing I'm working on right now is to make a portals in VR Chat. Problem is that from the VR headset, the perspective of everything just goes horribly wrong. I've figured out most of the math behind the perspective issue, but Udon doesn't allow me access to most of the stuff I need to implement it. So I'm kinda stuck there 😅
@@PxINKY I've haven't got to use it yet but I'm told its really good. Also told it merges bones so you don't end up with a bunch of duplicates like you would with vrcfury
@@albasu_ vrcfury only adds bones that don't have matching bones on the base avatar. So if you're using the same rig on the clothing and avi, then nothing new is added. It just re-parents the clothes to the base model's armature, discarding the armature already on the clothes. If the clothes have bones for things like pull strings or something, yeah those are added in because the base avi doesn't have those. The rest gets merged normally.
ayee, would've helped a ton some hours ago ngl mwehhe, also can u show off mor eabout vrcfury? just saw that it can "unhide" clothing that you add to your head (together with the new vrc unity 2021 update for unhiding your head n snoot n such)
Thats a mistake due to the creator of the asset at the time, the shapekey did not exist but if your asset does have the right shapekeys, I explained how to use and set up the "blendshape link" from vrcfury which would fix this!
@@PxINKY No, I did it right, But i asked in the server I diddnt know I had to enter play mode to do it, i was used to old vrc fury where it would do it after you connected it
Sorry, I try my best to make this as user friendly as possible. I do talk a little fast but thats just something i cant really change, its how my brain works. if you find my content too fast pace there are plenty of other amazing creators I could recommend!
yet another video cramming 1000 steps into as short of time as possible. cant follow along at all and everything is way to complicated and not explained.
I have an issue, I am working on attaching a wickerbeast hoodie to my wickerbeast and in the blendshapes for it there is no hide slider. Anyone that can help me?
You can make your own blendshape! (Tutorial for that on my channel) Alternitively if you are just wanting to toggle the hooding on/off just use an object toggle
