Instructions on how I added my NestCam to Blue Iris. There may be less involved ways of accomplishing this, but this worked for me and I can't find any instructions online on how to do this, so I'm posting it.
And for the record, yes, my baby was in her playpen by me when I made this, and then I paused for about 2 hours so a car magically appeared in my garage and the baby moved to her crib!

This still works. I have Blue Iris version 4.5.7.3. Works great! Thanks for showing how to get the info and setting up the Nest Camera's to be used with Blue Iris.

Great video! I already had Windows 10 installed, brought up the shared link in Chrome and found the rtmps link there. Thank you!

Agree. I got it working last night using the same technique, although I already had Win 10 so the first part of the video was unnecessary for me.

Note: you can also just use the regular debugger (no need for win10/edge) and find the UUID, then in BI, paste rtmps://stream-delta.dropcam.com/nexus/

Does this still work?? I tried the exact steps with blue iris and am getting an error that there is no signal from the camera.

i assume it still works, i haven't re-installed a nest cam for a while but mine still work in blue iris. feel free to email me screenshots of your configuration and i can compare them to mine

I figured out the issue-I was checking the "Audio" box when setting up the camera. Do you have audio feed or only video?

to Bryon Mack: the UUID workaround doesn't work anymore - every time i follow Ram Googy's instructions on the UUID, after selecting "find/configure", BI resets the url bar to "stream-delta.dropcam.com:0/" eliminating the UUID number - tried it 4 times. Someone in the Ram Goofy comments indicated NEST engineers create defeats for workarounds that people discover

Does this allow you to record and save your stream to your PC? Or just allow viewing withing BI??????
@BryanMack

You can record & stream via blue iris.

What FPS are you getting? I am getting 10 - 15 which is very low comapred to the 30 FPS from nest directly.

I get 10-11, not sure why I'd need more than that. I adjusted all of my hikvisions to do the same to not eat up my bandwidth. I am moving in a month and will be selling this nest, I hate that it uploads anything at all to their online storage, what a waste of bandwidth!

Will this do audio also in blue iris? And when you turn on public sharing what exactly does that mean as far as other people being able to view your stream? if they know the UUID then they can stream you camera?
@BryanMack
@BryanMack 7 лет назад
it means if anyone in the world has the URL, they can view your video feed. This is definitely a security flaw, but A) I don't care who sees my kitchen B) there is no way anyone will find the link unless they know your UUID (which I suppose is possible)

All the more reason I went with Hikvision for all of my other cameras. Half the price, better quality, more security & flexibility. But NestCam is second to none in ease of setup, that's for sure!

Hope this tid bit helps. My Nest Cam went down today (6/15/2017) and the stream I was using was: rtmps://stream-bravo.dropcam.com/nexus/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx and in the video above I looked carefully and so I changed mine to the videos feed which is: rtmps://stream-delta.dropcam.com/nexus_aac/xxxxxxxxxxxx I hope that helps anyone. Nest Cams are a PITA to keep going. I have 9 cams on BI and this Nest Cam was my first until I read about BI. The rest of my Cams are (5) Amcrest IP Wired cameras. I have (3) wireless cameras, the Nest Cam being one of the 3. Everything works awesome. I really love the BI software. The only downside is this damned Nest Cam rtmps feed keeps changing. I use No-IP for a static IP address from my phones. Works great.

This worked for me last week - but not anymore. Did Nest take away RTMPS or something?
@BryanMack
@BryanMack 7 лет назад
stopped working for me a couple of days ago too; time to sell this thing and go strictly with Hikvision and Foscam; while it's easy to set up, this proprietary bullshit Nest has going for it sucks.

Tell me about it. Charging $300 bucks PER CAMERA a year to store THIRTY FREAKING DAYS of footage is absolutely insane. Sheer extortion.
@BryanMack

Well, mine started working again last night. No clue WTF is going on.
@ishmaboy

Mine did too, but not with RTMPS. I have to use the M3U8 flash stream and it still doesn't work with Blue Iris. For the time being, I'm just importing the stream to VLC and converting it to MP4. Seems to work fine so far, apart from lack of motion detection and talk features, but I can do those things straight from the Nest app or web interface so I don't really mind.

Thank you so much for posting. Very helpful. Can you confirm, you couldn't get it to work with Windows 7 and IE? That's what I have and when I "Inspect Element" I cannot find the rtmps:// address. I have tried putting in the http address, but it doesn't work (in Blue Iris). I can see the public video feed though.
@BryanMack
@BryanMack 8 лет назад
Correct, I was unable to get IE in Win7 to display the RTMPS address. Blue Iris and the NestCam work fine on Win 7 or 8.1, but my experience was that you need Win 10 + Edge browser to get the RTMPS address that you then plug into BI.

Ack! Thanks for the response. I am not going to upgrade my desktop until Microsoft stops supporting Win 7 :) I will work on getting Virtual Box Win 10...I have it on my work computer, but not my home...another project. :)

So if I have access to a Windows 10 PC, but am running Blue Iris on Windows 7, I can just grab the address from the windows 10 pc plug into Blue Iris on Win7 right?

Yup!

Awesome! What is the risk of Nest removing the ability to do this in the future? And how is Nest in terms of wifi reliablity?
@BryanMack
@BryanMack 7 лет назад
I have zero association with Nest so I can't answer what they plan on in the future. Mine is about 20 feet from my router, and is the only cam I have in my house that is wireless, and I lose connectivity about 3 times per day. My wireless is bulletproof in the house, so I'm certain the issue is the Next. I'd not recommend a Nest, they eat your bandwitdth because they require internet rather than intranet, even if using BI as a NVR. My Hikvisions are incredibly superior to my nest.
@BryanMack
@BryanMack 7 лет назад
I prefer to hard-wire all my IP cams, but Nest is silly and doesn't offer that option.
@teegee126

I actually decided to order a Hikvision Cube yesterday after doing research. I couldn't deal w/ the public feed setting that had to be on for the Nest. Unfortunately I may have to do wireless for best location though, but it's nice to know i have the option for ethernet if I'm ever able to run some sort of wire. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the video. i was able to use it to add a nest cam to my blue iris app. But how do i add a second nest cam because it jumping between screens. i have to delete the second cam in order for the jumping to stop. Please provide the steps i need to follow to add a second nest cam. Thanks in advance

Sorry, I only own one Nest cam (and will not be buying another, I can't stand how they are so proprietary, and I feel Hikvisions are far superior in every way) so haven't had the need to investigate this.
