🥣HOW I PREPARE MY LECA: I just rinse with cool water in a colander or bucket with holes
💦FIRST MONTH: Water only the leca…do not allow any water to sit in reservoir, once a week or when plant shows signs of dryness (NO NUTRIENTS)
AFTER a month to 6 weeks (when plants begin showing signs of expedient growth) NUTRIENT WATER: Add 1 teaspoon Dyna_Gro Foliage Pro to 1 gallon RO or fresh drinkable water.
*EVERY 3-6 MONTHS (I average once every six months for this): FLUSH THE LECA… • #leaching #houseplants...

Thank you so much for this one! Loved your use of epsom salts. Am now a bit of a fanatic and my outdoor plants are looking great! Also now understand when you use each thing. Still a little unsure re method when transitioning plants from water to leca. Really appreciate your videos. .

Hello!!! thanks for a great video! I had seen you mention Epson salt in previous videos! I am so excited you included it here.... can you please teach me the purpose of using it?! also I just want to make sure I understand your regimen... you add 1-2 tablespoons per gallon and spray down plants every three months.... what about watering with Epson salt for established plants in LECA/pon/soil?? do you suggest watering these substrates with Epson salt also?

I either soak the roots before planting or spray leaves-I dont water with it-they absorb so much of the magnesium through the body of the plant

I saw your no pothos in Leca video, do you think mixing the Leca with the volcanic pumice and lava rocks will be better? If not should I put them in the epson salt and water and then back into soil? I’m so nervous many of my plants have declined and needed to start completely over with Leca.

Can I add epsom salt to the nutrient solution if my fertilizer doesn't include magnesium? Brand says magnesium isn't stable in fertilizer.

I wrote the colored Leca company and they admitted it doesn't wick well at all due to the paint. It is best for pebble trays

Leca is expanded clay. Literally the opposite construction of lava

I’ll keep an eye on the lava-it’s a first for me-volcanite is what i normally use and I mix it with the LECA

If I dont find any lava stuff can I put orchid bark instead?
@prettyinplants9580
@prettyinplants9580 3 года назад
I don’t like bark because it is an organic substrate...

Hi ...I live in Canada and my plants are in leca but they never dry fast like you maybe they dry in a month or 2 ...they are happy and growing!! But they never get that dry face that you talk about!! Do you think this would be bad in a long run?Thank you!😊

No-your area is more humid and will have less evaporation-the plants will tell you if they are unhappy and yours sound happy

Quite a few of my plants have yellowing leaves, 2 of my favorite hoyas 😬 they are new to leca, is this normal? I have them under grow lights & a humidifier close by.
