In this Scrap Mechanic modding tutorial I will show you how you can add your own parts to Scrap Mechanic. Add rideable wocs, custom engines, or new buttons. Since the new mod tool update, things have changed a lot, so I hope this tutorial will help you a lot.

Margin is a pretty simple concept it just says where it should be in relation to the block that you place it on. Let's say we have a wheel we want to give it one block wide collision box but we don't want it to actually be so close to the block we place it on because some part of the model is clipping to much so we just add a margin and the collision stays the same but it's slightly farther from where we place it.

If you open one of the files, they are just json files with a different extension name. So you create a new renderable and you can change it to .rend in the file explorer and it should just work.

@@GiftedR1 Thanks very much i shall now work on my fbx file in blender. (the reason im doing this is because rend the rend files ive looked at use .fbx models as meshes)

SAME, I've been searching on how to export as .rend in blender and testing if .obj files work. I didn't find anything on .rend files and no, .obj doesn't work...

@@franghigli I figured it out! Scrap mechanic uses FBX, and i just copied and modified another .rend file in a text editor! Surprisingly easy!
