Watching The Addams Family in the late sixties as a kid, I wanted to be part of that family, no fights, no judgement, a mum and dad that Loved each other deeply and openly, a fascinating house, and a totally positive outlook on life. It was half an hour of heaven!
Beautiful Tribe, that Addams Family! I remember my brother had "the Thing" bank that was just the coolest 'thing' I'd ever seen! ❤ the Ramones! I believe I'll take a listen🎶 it's been a while🎧
Same ,loved watching this when I was a kid in the 80s.Wednesday was my fav. They're bringing this back for this generation believe or not on Netflix very soon.
Addams family were the perfect parents They loved each other they encouraged individuality Non judgemental wealthy and welcoming They loved each other and accepted each other unconditionally❤
Whenever I hear on the radio that some-or-such survey has ranked people's favorite tv mom or dad, or the tv family they most wish they had grown up in, the first thing that comes to my mind is THE AD-DAMS FAM-I-LY (snap-snap). Wellllll ... my Mum did have long black hair when we were little, my grandmother lived with us from time to time, and I had a great uncle with a Fester light bulb he'd put in his mouth and light up. Maybe that's close enough, even if Daddy never joined us in crashing slot cars (we had no train set) or dancing the Freddie once in a while.
I do like this version of the Addams Family over any of the regurgitated remakes. And I do not care if the newer ones are more accurate to the original cartoons.
The Addams family was so wholesome. Gomez loved and respected Morticia, and encouraged his their children hobbies and interests. Morticia was equally infatuated with Gomez, and there was never a time when she didn't put the well-being of the kids first. They were shunned by everyone else, but just lived their best lives in spite of it. I'd give anything for a love as deep as Morticia and Gomez shared.
Wednesday was pretty bad ass in that show. She wasn't a shy flower. She spoke her mind and as a kid, I admired her outspoken attitude. Morticia was my idol, though! She was a mom, a wife, a friend, and unapologetically sexy. She showed that a woman could be a nurturer and an independent thinker. Great role models.
Was there a grandad and Fester character. Remember Thing the crawling hand. I think that little girl Wednesday is no longer with us. Perhaps most of the cast have passed and are no longer with us in 2024. Are you going to remove this comment RU-vid as it doesn't follow community guidelines???
What new interpretations truly can't grasp is that the Addams aren't psychopaths, sociopaths or criminally insane. The humor comes from the contrast between the spooky demeanor and the wholesome nature.
The choreography of this song is bang on. Watched this with my daughter in the room, and immediately she was dancing, almost identically to how the Adams girl was. Had a good laugh, and when I saw the butler bust out moves, I couldn’t help myself from dancing with my daughter. Crazy, thank you for that experience. 🤣🕺🏼
Swear on my life the same thing happened but with my doggie!!🤣 My doggie Blondie got so excited, pawing me, wiggling lol..... so I joined in💕🐾 Many blessings edit:typos
Yeah, I confess, I am amazed at the moves this tiny young girl has . . . . talented!. . . . and I still click on it no matter how many times it shows up when I open RU-vid. . . . and somehow it always does. Absolutely genius to dub in the Ramones' Blitzkrieg Bop!
This is just one more reason among many to love The Addams Family, they would be fun neighbors to have! And Wednesday was a punk rock girl long before that was even a thing! Brilliant!
This was my favorite scene of all time from such an iconic show, I knew there was nothing wrong with me as a very young American black kid, that was in love with Wednesday and also her movie counterpart (Christina Ricci) ......ahhhh memories
Yeah, music can bring us all together. To bad our world in run by the rich and greedy. May you always find happiness in the little things. Semper fi earthlings
There wasn't much demand for child actors, and her mother was an alcoholic. But she is alive and well, you can learn her story here. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LHmCEqTTL8o.html
This is the coolest ever!!!!!! A perfect fit, the Addams family and the Ramones. I'm old and bent enough to remember them both. Gawd those were better days, and nights!
I just love The Addams Family (pretty much every version of them but especially the 90’s version with Raul Julia as Gomez & Anjelica Houston as Morticia). They did things their way & it worked. Everyone was happy & loved & always looked like they were having a grand old time. To this day, I wanna be an Addams 🖤
@@andrewnelson2072 yes I know the person took this b/w classic video, edited out the original music track & replaced it with another, The Ramones! Still cool! Thanks
Addams Family, Green Acres, and Beverly Hillbillies were all surreal and other worldly takes on life. The 60's was a great time. Glad I lived my youth then. If it wasn't for the Vietnam War, it would have been perfect.
You're so right. It was truly creative and ghoulish funny. All the actors were busting with talent. And it is as entertaining now as it was then. Much love and thank you for this video.
If anyone has seen the New Wednesday show… I loved that in the iconic dance scene, Jenna Ortega pays homage to this OG Wednesday’s little jig in her choreo for a bit. It was amazing to see that tie in.
She did an interview on Jimmy Fallon recently where she disclosed that she was so busy with studying fencing and other martial arts moves for the series, Jenna hadn't had time to rehearse her choregraphy for that dance, so she improvised it!
I was so lucky to have been a kid when the Addams Family was prime time viewing along with Star Trek and many other wonderful shows. As an older adult I now appreciate Carolyn Jones and John Astin as great actors having fun with those parts.
Yes! The whole show was a work of art, especially considering the era, and every role was cast well, played by actors who wholeheartedly embodied the characters... Such an odd premise and plots, yet they were more believable as characters than most ordinary run-of-the-mill family sitcoms of the time
If I remember correctly Star Trek was on the same time as The Brady Bunch, prime time. There wasn’t recorders or anyway copy it. Who knows when I was able to watch it? The summer? My sister wanted to watch BB, blah! I of course wanted ST. She screamed and cry and being younger my parents let her watch that BB show. I was so pissed that I locked my sis in the basement closet which is hard to hear her from that spot. Thanks Wednesday for your inspiration! …….think I should let sister out now???
That is fucking classic! i have actually met the Ramones when they played the Greyhound in Croydon. South London. some 40 odd years ago. members of the Damned were in the same makeshift dressing room at the time. shame thr Ramones are no longer with us.
It’s pretty amazing how Lurch bangs his hands on the floor when he starts dancing. All of his moves, actually. I wouldn’t think he could do that. Most normal sized people couldn’t.
Обожаю Аддамсов!Моя сестра с друзьями несколько лет назад наряжались в эту семейку. Сестра была Мортишей,я ей шила платье. Двухметровый парень,который был Фестером побрился налысо ради такого случая. Хелуин 😊🙃
The Addams Family shaped me at an early age. I must have been 7 or 8 and I wanted to be like them so much. I still remember Morticia snipping the roses off and and a vase full of stems, I think I was just dumbfounded at them. I never missed a show. I wanted to do everything the opposite of what everyone else was doing. It really helped me later in life. Lurch dancing really made my day, wow!! Was that the most words he ever said at one time?
Song in German is song in English according to the translation that's cool. I always wanted to learn German since I have some German ancestry but it looked to difficult.

Just out of college, my buddy would pick me up at 6:30 am and four of us would commute from Queens (where the Ramones are from) to Wall St. in his tiny Datsun, smoking bones and doing nose candy on the way. Severe hangovers after late night partying and no sleep, and Ramones blasting with the volume up to 10. One morning during a meeting in the 60th floor conference room, staring at the statue of liberty, I had to run to the bathroom to puke. We went on to become sucessful attornies, bankers and technology professionals. Also went on to raise highly successful straight arrow kids. This video reminds me of what a great run it's been.
I have watched this many many times, it was a good time to be a kid, I wonder what today's kids would be like if they had my childhood.....and, The Munsters was great too!
