2:20 this is true for most of his songs he freestyled the entire thing in about 5-10 minutes. But plenty of his songs and probably half on his album Death Race for Love were one takes. He also made that album in 4 days and it went number 1 and won album of the year. This man didn’t even try and he was still probably the most successful artist ever in the span of 2 years. One of the only songs he ever actually wrote was Lucid Dreams which will go diamond soon and is one of the most successful tracks of the decade. That gives you an idea of what he could do when he tried and took more than a few minutes to make a song lol. He made 4-7 songs a day (i’ve heard). Made around 3,000 in a few years. His work ethic was unmatched and it wasn’t close and same with his musical talent. Truly one of a kind. If you are curious to see how he recorded his music watch the video of him recording “Cavalier” or “Kung Fu” one of his more popular snippets.

Some songs he one taked he said that in the intro of the song. A few that i know are one takes are Feeling, Out My Way, No Hook, Outta Pocket and his full studio sessions. One of his studio sessions “Think Too Much 11mins” is imo one of the best songs of all time. Also if you haven’t seen him freestyle before i recommend watching his “object or prop freestyle”. Definitely one of the best freestyles ever.

Juice did one take songs.. you should listen to people speak about him. Like on legends never die, people like Eminem and j Cole talk about how amazing he was. And how he would just one take a verse and then one take another and tell them to pick the best one.

I'm aware of that, but that's not freestyling a song. It's basically coming up w 2 things off the top of your head, writing them down (via a recording) and then picking the best. Not that that is bad at all, just trying to keep it real w folks. People act as if nobody else does the same thing. Maybe it's bc I'm from Houston and most of our rappers do that but it just doesn't seem like that big a deal to me. Admittedly, it does take talent to do that bc if you weren't good at coming up w stuff, you'd have to write it down and then edit it bf stepping in the booth. Bit as i said bf, I wasn't saying it as an insult so I wish people would chill and start listening. 🤷‍♂️

i'm definitely not trying to argue but wouldn't that technically be freestyling? if someone goes in the booth does a one take and then does another one take aren't they both by definition a freestyle? a perfect ex is if you type in racks juice wrld snippet, it's not leaked but that song is a one take, but there's 2 different versions of the song. insane song for a one take

Lots of people saying he did one take songs. But you are 100% correct. He freestyled verses but not whole songs in one go. They get cut up. That’s why we have 15 minute songs when sessions leak where all takes that he made leak instead of just the mp3. It’s pretty cool to hear the raw vocal without auto tune, filters, effects, just as the producer and juice heard it. Rip.

I love rental because it gets better and better as it goes on. By the end you’re like “wow”. It’s heartbreaking to hear his drug use but i love lines like “had to cut down on the syrup, i was sleeping away money couldn’t wake up and get money; now i’m up tryna get money give a F*** what they want from me.” His flashes of self confidence and a hope for a better life despite him being seemingly trapped in the cycle of addiction make his music unmatched.

You're awesome, you remind me of my bestfriends dad. My best friend passed away not to long ago at 18 but we loved juice, i had the honor to know him before the fame not on a personal level but i followed him on instagram when he had 800 followers now he has 17 million. lol. Just to defend him a alittle, he did one take many songs, you can check out videos on youtube. ofc he didnt always do that, but he never wrote he always went off the top of his head. just to prove it, he did 2 hour free style where many times he catches a hook and verse that all fit together right on spot. The questions that JuiceWrld always leaves me at are these. Was it really the money that killed him and not the drugs? If we lived in a different society would he have produced the same caliber of music and navigated his relationship with drugs differently? Would he still be alive. Addication is wild and I think we need to take a hard look at how we wanna go about this going forward.

I think that’s what people misunderstand about Jarad Higgins 😢 he truly didn’t write anything down . Only thing he wrote was his first album GBGR, and that’s a fact known by some of his closest friends & other artists who have praised him. exactly harry mack writes and so does lil wayne. saying lil wayne does not write is false he still writes verses and lyrics he wants to remember. juice 100% gets less respect than he deserves fact is if these were lil wayne songs they all being top 10 and becoming platinums with billions of streams. think about going in the studio and being able to make any genre of music like juice at 19-21 years old its unheard of. no artist at juice wrlds age was better being that young and being up there with the best practically overnight is wild most artist have one breakout song juice had like 5 breakout songs.

juice did one take songs, but he also recycled bars but he did it in different songs, you’ll hear the more you hear his unreleased music, that said juice would freestyle over the beat, then go over the beat and do another freestyle and would say pick whichever sounds better w/o cutting it up, i’m a big juice fan and i’ll admit he’s one of the greatest freestylers, but he also didn’t one take EVERY song like some people say

No one other than juicecan one take a song and what he was doing was more talented than any artist ever you don't hear of people making a whole album in 2 days plain and simple. He has a lot of one take songs especially on death race for love no other artist can do that. You say that "even lil wayne didnt go in the booth and just one take" but Juice really did. He has TWO 1 hour freestyles on youtube where he just raps nonstop and if that doesn't prove it then idk what to tell you. Also, you said that he would make different versions of verses as if you were undermining his talent. you explained the way he recorded the songs correctly, but you missed a few spots and some weren’t right, yes juice went into the studio, he freestyled songs, BUT he didn’t record a butt load of verses and then throw them away after the fact, he records the song in one sitting, he doesn’t go back to do anything. he says “run that back” hundreds of times when he was recording “734” because he was finding parts that made sense for the whole song. his recording process is basically 60% of him saying run that back, 10% is him mumbling and listening to a part he just recorded, and 30% is him trying to piece the song together. it’s basically like a puzzle and he’s trying to find the pieces that click and fit together to make a song.
