Even for those of us without a shopping addiction, we still need to be cautious. The brain creates dopamine responses that can lead us to want to do more of whatever causes the dopamine reaction.
My mother was bipolar and had this shopping addiction. She would spend hundreds on beanie babies, furniture, clothes....while her kids went to bed hungry or ate canned veggies.
@THEwhimsical1 She acted like I was attacking her and taking away from what she felt she deserved. She came from a violent home and wanted what she felt was owed to her--in this case, nice material possessions.
I was kind of like this before but when I watch minimalism and konmari method help me lot. Now I spend on healthy foods instead. Fast fashion too ruin the environment
@@iarshintasudjana4382 buy only things that you needed not your wants. only stock healthy foods in a ref. Eat healthy foods as you can until it become a habbt.
This lady doesn’t look okay, she seems to be in a child like state, I believe it’s the medication she is taking no doubt. God bless her and restore her mental health her case seems to be related with psychiatric issues to begin with which are a bit more complex.
I like shopping, too. Retail therapy is real, unfortunately. Though I do not overspend like these poor people, my husband has control over our joint account card so we can save!!
Absolutely Ridiculous it isn’t even therapy’s the dopamine spoke and giddiness u get when u buy something is *extremely* fickle and temporary and ur right back to where u started very soon after. Retail therapy is a myth.
Constant smiling and grinning and giggling - lady needs a lot of therapy so she can stop the embarrassment-caused laughing and get to the heart of the problem.
If i have extra money in my budget it’s not oh what can I buy ? It’s what bill can I pay ? Does my electric need to be paid ? Do I need food ? Do my cats need something ?! Problem with addictions is that people can’t make good choices
I don't go shopping for clothes, shoes, etc. In fact, most of my stuffs are old. I Feel guilty to buy a new one. But I spend a lot in foods and groceries without second thought.. I love to cook and eat! 😂😂😂😂
Shopping gives me hives. I guess that is sort of a good thing, except when I run out of presentable clothes and have no time to find decent fabric and sew. So when I find trousers or a shirt that fits, I buy two or three of them.
So..is she allowed to work with this illness? Because i do not think she is getting all that money she spends on shopping for clothes from family etc. I think she works or something.
I heard a story once about a lady who was so deeply affected by this disease that she murdered elderly women to rob them so that she could go shop and get hair done and that type of thing. This woman is gleeful about saying she'll put shopping above eating. Amazing how these things can happen to us.
Based on her hunch she looks like she might have an adrenal disorder which makes you gain and makes it harder to lose weight and the food she does eat is probably not nutritious
@mizzmolly it's easy for you to talk but i don't live in US and i can't save "only" 200$ when my whole salary is 450$ and after all who even knows if he's going to live to his retirement? I obvioisly wouldn't behave this way if i wasn't living with my parents who pay for food, bills and other necessities. And this happened only this one month that i spent it all but honestly i bought myself everything i have dreamt of so i don't regret
This is really bad. A down payment for your own house tomorrow would feel better than that shop today. It a bit of an insult to your parents too as they can't have fun as you do cos they are paying for you. You are acting like a child and not an adult. I hope you change this
@@standingfortruth4043 You're ok, it happens! I spent all my personal money on clothes recently, too. Sometimes you need to spend a bit on yourself :) ...that guilt will help you not do it again for a while. ^^some people just don't get it^^
