The Watchdog reviews the ADDIESDIVE AD2054 and loves the watch. He just wishes they would have gone all the way with the fauxtina, and quit treating their quartz models as lesser watches. s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mLG...
Worst as you said is the bezel markers being white and not yellow, also the 3 o'clock marker behind the cyclops .. Good review with attention to all details .. Thanks
Nice looking watch, i agree with you on the bezel, they shouldve gone the extra mile with that. That doesnt take away thats a good value watch as it is. Nice vid, keep it going.
In defense of them using white on the bezel and not the fautina color - on real subs with real patina the bezel numerals arent discolored. So I guess they were trying to be "authentic". I agree with you that this is a scond class citizen watch - no mechaquartz, no sapphire, folded clasp. The Addiesdive Explorer is a much better buy and its about the same price when on sale.
I thought the same about the bezel numeral color. you’r right. Old ones ages not similar on the markers on the dial and the bezel numerals. It’s the lume that ages yellow-ish, not the bezel lettering. I ordered this one today, most because the vintage look, I think it is a nice looking summer watch to use in my boat. I also like the AD2040 in blue and the one in green. It’s also some YM looking in different color combos.
Just ordered this under $50 Australian . If it had a mecha quartz and saphire and a better clasp it won't be the same price. Putting it on a sude washed blue strap and its going to be a work watch and i plan to beat it up. I think for the price no one can complain
I think the same. Ordered one today. I sold my Citizen automatic and wanted to go for this one because it is more sturdy, and was looking at the Casio MDV106 but I think it’s a bit big. I think this AD2054 is a better looking watch and has the same movement. I will use it as a summer watch and ordered some rubber straps, I think it will look good on a tropic strap as well.
Thank you for the review. I have the completely green MY-H3-2QZ and like it. I considered buying this watch because of the aged look However, I agree that everything should be in fauxtina. I'm going to pass on this model.
I really wish more quartz watches would go with the VH31. I do have that seconds-hand quartz OCD, and ticking (plus missing) just seems cheap to me. Most of the VH31 watches on Ali are really small though. I don't understand why it hasn't started showing up in dive watches like this. Seems like it would be a home run. The only diver with a VH31 I've found is the QIMEI, and I don't like the lugs or body shape of it.
Tnx for this review. I have a problem with the bezel and the classic method to take off the bezel (sharp plastic or knife under the bezel) doesn't work on Addiesdive) I contacted the manufacturer and the answer was - Don't take it off, please! So I asked around and no one has tried to do it on Chinese replicas/homages, especially with Addiesdive and Steeldive. Some did, but with crooked bezel in the end (some bezel is not SS material) Any suggestion? Tnx
@@funwithwatches7549 well.. I actually don't need bezel. This one is ruined with chemicals from some printing solution. Now I trying to make this watch look like M. Brando GMT . The question remains whether the appearance and construction are identical to GMT without bezel
That was an interesting observation about Addiesdive supplying the mineral crystal on some of their quartz watches “ as they think the buyers of quartz , don’t care “ as I’ve just got their keenly priced quartz GMT , which also has a mineral crystal . Slightly disappointing but then I have some old watches worn for years and put through the mill where the mineral has come out surprisingly well. Are we just being snobs demanding a sapphire crystal when many of us don’t really need the added scratch resistance ( or cost ) ?
@@funwithwatches7549 absolutely agree , it’s like the awful lume on many cheaper watches other tha Addiesdive and a couple of others, why not add a couple of $ and offer a almost perfect watch for the money .
