Great video. This is strange inconsistency on Toyota's part. Had they not even included the Cabin Air Filter provision on any of these LCs, then we would conclude that to they had a reason (likely a good one) for not doing so. I guess they stepped up their game in the 200 Series because those all come equipped with the filter (as far as I know) and the design is leaps & bounds easier to service.
I own a 2003 LC GX.R and it doesn't have a cabin air filter nor the slot to put one in, so every once in awhile I just hose the ac refrigerator housing area and take out the blower motor and clean the dust off it. No more dust blowing into my eyes at full blast!
I have a Toyota LC 2000 and has the same configuration as yours. I do not understand why Toyota never installed a cabin air filter from the factory. Thanks for the video.
Great video, just checked my 2006 UZ100 VX and no way I could get lucky. No slot for filters. I may have to pull the whole lot out anyway because I have a gas leak in the aircon and mechanic can’t find where the it is. Even extra die doesn’t show up so must be around the evaporator.
i found the parts for a good price at toyotapartsdeal.com tho theyre pictured the same, this is the cover for the blower motor that has the slot: Toyota Part No.:88891-60040 and this is for the cover for the slot: 88891-60050 put in the year of your vehicle to make sure it fits.
Toyota are so weird.. just put the filter! haha... i mean Lexus does need features to differentiate so i guess that's the reasoning, another cool LX upgrade is extra sound deadening, coupled with AHC comfort setting long drives become so nice. Also check out charcoal activated replacements which are aftermarket, you have to change much more often but cruising is so much nicer when going through areas that smell like Bakersfield with all the cows in that area when passing by, or heavy diesel smell when behind big rigs or older cars that throw smoke. Filter is Champion CCF1822, $15 at pepboys, 25% off if order online with free pickup.
Yea I really don’t get it. I hear some lx’s didn’t get the filter either. I’ll check out those charcoal filters next time I switch them out. I drive thru Bakersfield once in a while and know exactly what you’re talking about 🤣🤣🤣
Can i still put in a filter without changing the cover? I just did took out today to check the passenger side inside leaking when AC is on and i realised that i have no filter not a slot to get to it. Can you advise if its possible to put one without getting a new cover? Cheers mate
Hi Chow. Seems I have another variant on my 1998 105 Petrol 6 cylinder 1FZ-FE. Manufacture date 10/1998. Right hand drive sold in Australia. It has the slot to put the filters in just like shown here, I bought the filters exactly the same as what you have here, however my car has two plastic panels, each the same width as the filters, mounted one above the other, inserted at half the depth of where the filters slide in, halving the depth of the filter slots, and meaning the filters only slide in half way. These plastic panels look to be separate from the main housing and it looks possible to remove them. I have no idea how to do that, or if I should at all, unless I can get into it from the back, in the engine bay. So simply having the plastic slot, does not guarantee a simple insertion of the filters. At least not for my car. Have you heard about this issue? I can send you a photo if it is of any interest. Or any advice as to how I might get those plastic panels out? Thanks for the videos
@@chowcares Possibly. The metal filter in which leaves & debris get caught in seems to extend further back past the plastic panels I described. How far back I am not sure. Will have to try and find whether a similar Denso filter of shorter length exists.
Dear Sir, Thanks for your video I see. I have LC 100, 101hdt, I cannot find cabin filter size for replace. When I measured the filter size through slot around 140*250mm. May I know the filter size and part number for reference of that pair filter.
Bought a new cover for my 100 series so I could put a cabin filter in but realised theres a barrier halfway so the filters won’t go in, anyone else had this problem?
