Getting a little more interesting with adding in control inputs. While rudimentary, injecting new setpoints into the software makes the rocket fly more like a full scale one. The addition of a gentle gravity turn on this flight gives me some pretty interesting data to play with for future liftoffs! It is an important part of attempting to land a model rocket as well and helps fine tune my code!
I designed and fabricated my own custom Falcon 9 rocket using 3d Printed Parts and software I wrote at home! The rocket is intended to be able to fly as a 2 stage rocket eventually and land itself without a chute! All of it runs on custom GNC software I wrote in collaboration with several others. Enjoy!
The rocket burns an Estes F-15-0 motor and operates using a set of custom TVC gimbals.
