Adding a Shelf to the Work Bench 

Great storage space for your bench and I'm sure there will be lots of additions in the future.

Hi Mike. I dont think its boring at all. We can all use more space in the shop and ways to use that space that we have. You always seem to come up with some good ideas! Keep the ideas coming my friend! 🙏🙏✌

I like workshop makeovers, reorganizations, and so on. I'm always interested to see how other folks approach common situations. Gives me all kinds of ideas. Thanks for posting and thumbs up.

Mike, this is great stuff because I need to do some similar work and your experience and ideas are appreciated. I cut my grass for the first time this year and digging out the mower reminds me how desperately I need to clean, straighten, and organize the garage / shop. Lead on Sir! We are still praying for Nannie ❤

Looking better all the time my friend. Some people used to laugh at me for saving old lumber but I have built alot of projects with it . Especially the prices of lumber today. Alittle paint & how knows the difference, right . Keep up the good work my friend .

Looks good to me , I go back way further than you but I can't remember ever seeing a deck screw back in the 60's can you ? All I remember is slot wood screws , nothing was driven in with a power tool 😂😂

Feel free to drive down to my place with some lumber and get right to it, I won't even bother you, just let you go at it. I'm a good boss like that. Looks great Mike, the new grampie workshop it looking some fine.

That's a great bench and and shelf you have there Grampy, you can never have too much space for storage space. We trust you it fits LOL

LOL...watching brought back so many memories of my grandfather as he was forever building shelves. My grandmother would say to my grandfather, "Could you build a shelf here for the pickles?" My grandfather would go ahead and build the shelf. Then my grandmother would go looking and end up asking, "So where's my shelf?" "It's over there!" "But that shelf is full of paint!?" Yup, it seemed that every shelf that was ever built in that basement was made for paint! LOL

Always interested in how you solve a problem Mike. I happen to like drawers myself. Much better than shelves by being able to pull out and look at the items stored in them. Keep up the build. I never get bored with your creative workshop work.

Good day there fella. Awesome to see you once again. Spring is coming in the door so it will bring us the outside things we have waiting for us from 6 months ago. I am sure you have a list as long as one of my arms are and at 6'7" my arms are longer than most eh.LOL. I was wondering about the height of the top and shelf but again you are building it for you eh, LOL. Most things like this fail from not enough support or stops for angular strength. You have that well taken care of my friend.Tolerences are nice and tight as they should be. My air compressor uses up thay small space from the bench shelf to the wall too the bench and in a kind of occupied space above I use for my clamps of many variation so it is in a good place out of the way. I think I have about 1/2 the space you have. A tad of envie there ole son, LOL. Take care and you already know what to do with that Nanny J that we all love and cherish eh my friend. Luv ya both.

I was sure you'd put a shelf under there at some point and this looks good and strong. My favorite part is how square the little piece on the left fit into the corners of the shop. Drawers are awesome and make things so much better. I hope they'll be easy to make. Your new apron looks really professional and I think it is keeping your clothing cleaner and less on fire! It is great to see how you are setting up your workshop and I do not think it is boring at all. We like to fix everything with screws too. I am surprised you do not have a dado cutter for your saw bench, they seem to be popular on your side of the pond but almost impossible to find over here. The bench and shelf look great and I am looking forward to seeing what you are going to do in the corner

How’s she goin Mike, Your workbench looks great as usual. I also added a shallow rectangular roll-out box under the lower shelf on my workbench like you are planning. It looks like there is room to sleep on your shelf in case Janet kicks you out for the night! (just kidding). Cathy and I really enjoy watching you work (doing nothing is what I do best).
