Glad that it helped! It really does make a difference on our couch. We were hoping it would make it a little quieter but will take better airflow. Thanks for watching!
Oh - I can’t live in the south without AC. The humidity is crazy also. But then you were camping in 106 without AC so you are the winner in my book for toughest camper haha!
Don't forget the freeze sensor :-) , we have had no issues with it freezing up since getting the freeze sensor. That's really nice to have, but it may only by available on the blue tooth model i'm not sure. I love the bluetooth model, not having the fan run all the time is a great + and with robins poor vision controlling it with her iPad is much easier for her.
That is good to know! I remembered that you had installed so glad you are still liking it! We have been lucky - haven’t experienced that yet but have read so many that have. We have looked at it but as we don’t do much summer camping, decided to wait. But it is definitely on our radar!! Thanks for watching!
I live in my geopro full time. I ended up shelling out the money for the replacement panel with two extra vents and a digital control. It's life changing for me, since the compressor now cycles with the fan so it's not running constantly when I use it. I also noticed that it drew in a lot of humidity when just the fan was running. I used a Govee thermometer that does humidity as well and now it's much more consistent and comfortable
Ok - if it “solves” ;) humidity then we are ordering tonight haha. But seriously - thank you for the input because the humidity is the one reason we don’t do a lot of summer camping here in the south and that is very good to know. And will look at the Govee! Thanks for watching!
@@WinesPinesandCanines before I changed it out it would regularly fluctuate from about 45% anywhere up to low 80%. Now it has an average of 42% humidity. Totally worth it in my opinion. One thing to note, my wiring to the new control box wasn't long enough so I wasn't able to mount it how it suggest. You may have to extend it in your case but since mine mostly sits I rested it up against the mounting bolts and I've been ok.
That is cool. Like the follow up. We wish ours were quieter. If you can add and it works more efficiently maybe it would be worth trying. I like the directional vent idea. Great test.
I love the new intro, although I am so far behind that perhaps it is not so new for you anymore! I haven’t actually had an opportunity to try the air conditioner in my Geo yet as I have never had any service. However, my son and I are heading out next Sunday for a week with full-service and I imagine that we will give the AC a go, even if just to make sure it works. Thanks for your video as it is nice to know there are options if I need them! I do hope all is well with you!
Thank you - its only a few weeks old so still pretty new! The ac should cool it off even without - but on really hot days that vent is nice to have! Hope you and your son have a great week camping - let us know how it went!
I wound up ordering the cover kit and heating element from Airxcel and love it. Just right for chasing the chill from early Fall days and the air redirect is great. Btw, thanks for the response about the GFCI being located in the bathroom. I should have looked more closely as most household GFCI outlets have red resets where all the test and reset buttons are black blending with the outlet cover.
You are welcome - glad we could help! Did you get the digital cover or the upgraded one that just has the vents and allows for the heater but still has the knobs? We are really thinking about upgrading to one that allows the heat strip!
@@WinesPinesandCanines I purchased the unit that still uses knobs along with the heating element. Turned out my 2021 trailer had the capability prewired in already to accept the heater, though the kit came with all necessary parts. Easy conversion.
Used do work in A/C , Most people seem to think bigger and strong means cooler, But what they do not under stand the air temp may be lower, But the compressor is not running long enough to lower the humidity, I have found if I put my same unit on low and never on high, The humidity is lower, The lower humidity makes us feel more comfortable.
The Fit RV, Episode on June 28,2021, did a video on the Installing and Testing of a product called the RV AC Silencer. This mod might need what you need!!
Yes! We saw that but unfortunately did not work with our model!! We do see that Coleman has come out with a “quiet” unit so hopefully that will become standard at some point! Appreciate the tip and thanks for watching!
An update on the heating element kit. Best addition to the camper yet. On a recent trip to Bedford, PA to visit the Flight 93 Memorial, the night time temps dipped to the mid twenties. We were perfectly comfortable with using just the A/C heat element and no propane furnace! My wife likes that the fan runs constantly yielding white noise to sleep with compared to the furnace cycling on and off.
That is great to know - thank you! We had looked into it but after talking to the manufacturer, we decided to not upgrade the assembly so we could install the heater. But we are going to revisit in 2022 if it would replace having to take an electric heater. Thanks again!
Thks for the video! I just completed that mod on my geo pro 19fbs and when I put the control knobs back on they are very loose, not nearly as tight as when I took them off, did that happen on your install? Thks again
Thanks for watching - this is an easy mod that made a big difference for us! With the knobs - we have taken it down a few times just for filming and didn't have any trouble with the knobs loosening. Did take a closer look at the knobs and in ours, there appears to be a metal piece inside the knob where the metal piece from the air conditioner connects to it. Is it possible that fell out of yours? You may be able to get cheap replacements from Airxcel as well.
