Greetings from Mass. Just took delivery on a 2023 tour dct .with 850 miles on it after 10 years on my 2014 wing . Been watching your videos for the past year and decided to upgrade. Appreciate learning how to prioritize in an affordable way; especially product reviews. Gary
I have to let you know that for the last while I have noticed that your background music is way too loud. While watching the video all of a sudden I have to turn down the volume so we don’t get a complaint from our neighbors. Could you maybe check and see if there’s a lower volume setting when your importing the music. Great videos and congrats on the new bike.
I’m with you on the lower cal tab. I had to straighten out the dash on my GL1500 where someone had been in it. Once I put the plastics and tabs together properly it illuminated the rattles I was hearing from it while riding!
Maybe I missed this in the comments, but you could you share your main motivations for trading your 2018 for the 2024 ? With all the cool accesories you added to the 2018, and the way you meticulously maintained it, the fact that you traded just made me curious.
When removing the center engine cover behind the front wheel I think only the top two 5mm allen bolts need to be removed, not the bottom two. Just put the same engine guard on the same exact bike last week. Its such a nicer looking color combo in person, especially with the metallic pearl in the white. I wish the black contained some metallic as well.
Congrats on your 2024 Goldwing.I bought the same combo last December 9 and have over 11.000 smiles on Pearl.Looking forward to seeing your video on installing your accessories.
I have a 2024 as well, grey and black 😉👍 and I found the front and rear screws for my lower cals/ covers 🤷🏼 loose from the dealer when I installed my Custom Chrome highway foot boards. This is my first Goldwing and I’m loving it. It’s a DCT by the way. Thanks for the video.
You gotta lot of work ahead of you. I bought a brand new 2022 and 2023 Goldwing Tour DCT and they did the fairing tab like yours both times. This time I told the tech about it and he went and looked at all of there Goldwings and he had done it to everyone of them. So yes it's a common mistake.
I have a request for you since I really trust your thoughts. I have owned Hondas four 1800s and upgraded to the 2018. I want to know how to safely tie down these new ones, into a trailer. I am especially concerned about swaying and falling over. I tied to the grips and then found that was not approved. I put on those tie downs at the front on the frame, then found they might break the frame. Can't tip it over without tearing up the bike, so I am afraid to practice in those parking lot practices either. Love the bike but it is not as bullet proof as the older versions. Please help with some comments and recommendations.
I can see you're going to need that Show Chrome front fender extension. I wish I had put one on mine sooner than I did. I, too, prefer the chrome on the engine over the black, but I guess we're the minority since they're not offering it now.
I switched from the Rivco pegs to the Show Chrome ones. With the Rivco pegs I had to hold my feet up to use them and couldn’t actually “rest” my feet on top of the pegs either because the pegs would immediately try to fold into the stored (unused) position when I would relax my legs.
Yes, the Goldstrike foot rests scrape. But if you do it right, it feels like a badge of honor (🤣🤣) But it IS a surprise when you're in a tight turn and you scrape the Bots Dot or road reflector. When you get the setting right, you wonder how you rode without them Excellent product.
Hi Cruiseman. Welcome home…quick question: I’m loving my Rico Highway pegs that you introduced to me years ago…just curious as to why you are no longer using/promoting them? Thanks.
I really liked the RIVCO pegs too. At the time, I was shooting a lot of videos that required me to remove them any time I needed access to remove the engine covers and it just added more steps to the video process. Then, I started getting other highway pegs in to test and review. One of my reviewers really wanted the RIVCOs so I sold them. But, I really did like them.
I just got my 2024 dct. Where did you get your backrest? I watched your video on how to install it. Thank you so much because I now have the confidence to do it myself 😊
Cruise man forgot to mention the rivco highway pegs two brackets do mount to the engine case but all the weight is on the engine guard no worries about damage to engine case
Hey cruisy nice new bike love the black and the white but I could have swore you said in a previous video you said u prefer the Chrome frame and not the black one
Bike looks awesome I just bought a 2024 myself I also noticed the backrest you have on it they don't make that style anymore to match the sest, would you happen to know why?
Congrats on your new bike rivco makes regular highway pegs you don't have to take off any thing to install they're also adjustable put up high no scraping unless you make a hard turn you can also get a front fender extension works out good thanks for the videos ride safe
I also wanted to congratulate you on your new bike it's the best feeling in the world I am a little surprised you pulled the plug I thought you would wait to see if adaptive cruise control to come out I have a feeling honda is not going to add it until the do a major work over and it looks like that every 8-10 yrs I think they waiting so they can command more money and want it to be part of a major work over 3:35
You have always said that until something changes on the wing, you won’t upgrade. Knowing you something is different with the 2024. Do tell us what’s new.
Hey Chris, are you planning on installing a Power Distribution Accessory Hub on this Wing? I know that, like me, you had a PAH60GW on your 2018, but with their recent email, advising riders to disconnect this device due to a possible fire hazard, I wonder what you are thinking about using on this beautiful new GW.
On my GoldStrike highway pegs, I rotated the "arm" between the foot peg and mount to a nearly vertical position, which means my driver footpeg feelers touch down a hair before the highway peg mount does. Let me know if you want me to send a couple pics.
Hey @cruisemansgarage, you forgot to add the Ember cup link in the description :) I've been thinking of buying one for myself, don't like cold coffee either 😎
Doesn't the 2024 already come with (standard equipment) TPMS? Like my 2019 and your previous 2018? I'm just curious since you added the FOBO sensors. Will those mess with the original TPMS units?
I really like the Goldstrike Highway pegs. But resist the urge to push on them to reposition yourself while riding. Looks like it wouldn’t take much to break them off.
Congrats again CG! Question: I'm doing my first tire change owning a DCT and struggling with tear wheel 🙆♂️ I can't get two nuts broke loose without a gear to lock the wheel down. I tried wedging boards under the tire but nothing worked. I even went to hand-held impact drills from 500 to 2000 psi and no movement 🤦♂️
Did you try the parking brake? liberally spray the nuts with some penetrating oil (be careful it does not spray through the wheel openings and onto the brake disc)
I can't ride without my goldstrike highway pegs I will say this cruiseman I doubt the way you ride you will ever scrape the highway pegs I am somewhat of a aggressive rider and I do ride in sport mode sometimes in the twisty mountains and I have scraped my highway pegs only a few times otherwise I put them up if I am really gonna push the gold wing thru the corners it's just safer for me but I will be shocked if you ever scrape the pegs
I have mine just a little higher towards the honda tip over bracket I have 32 inch seam I'm 6.1 I like to have my legs stretched out after using regular pegs for hrs
Love your videos. They are very helpful and informative. What, if anything have you noticed different from the 2018 to the 2024 ride wise? Example: does the DCT shift smoother, is the seat and suspension better or the same, and anything else that you may have noticed. Thank you again.
I was wanting to install the Tip Over Protection- but I am concerned about the removal of the Armor Shield on my 2021- any thoughts about removing the coating in the area to get a good installation?
@@Drajrichard99 You may want to contact Armor Shield support about this. I am thinking you will probably need to remove the coating from the entire mirror and face of the saddlebag. You will probably have to strip it off with a random orbital polisher. I am sure their FAQ page has more information on this procedure. After you have it stripped off, you can always re-apply it after installing the tipover parts.
I enjoy mild to medium roast. I am not a dark roast fan. I have been drinking Cameron's Coffee and I really like it. I use a cheap, 5 cup Black & Decker coffee maker.
Thinking of getting a 2023-2024 Goldwing Tour DCT.... is there any reason to believe the engine in the 6th generation won't last 300,000 miles like the 5th gen?
If you can afford it, why not? But, to tell the truth, my 2018 manual will do all the 24 will do. It is , after all, a Honda Goldwing . Enjoy Chris...FASTEDDIE
Maybe I’ve missed it but what was your decision to get a 24 and not wait for the 25 anniversary edition? The speculation is that they would be some desirable updates on the anniversary model wondering if you know something and not telling.
Having owned an 18 and now a new 24, is the engine noise at idle pretty much the same? Or was the 18 noisier? My 21with 22K miles is definitely noisier at idle vs. what my '06 was with 59K miles on it. Are these newer Goldwing engines just noisier vs the last gens.?🤔
Jealous as heck that you got a 2024 before me, but I've got a lot more brownie points to earn first! I must say, if my Honda dealership miss fit any parts on my bike when they do work on it, that will be the last they see of me.
The goldstrike pegs... You can't even imagine how scrapped mine are. I'm destroying them. They are the best looking but dangerous. I jumped my bike in a curve once, I did not panic but my mind went.. OH NO! GONNA DIE NOW! I tend to ride my GL pretty much like a racer once in a while so.....
As others have mentioned, you really need to get rid of that annoying music. It does NOTHING BUT DISTRACT from your content. If your future videos have loud music, I'm gone.
Love my Goldstrike foot pegs. Just need to be sure you give them a good torch down every time you remove them. I had them come loose a couple of times while riding after an adjustment. Also those black wheels just love to attract brake dust. I clean mine almost daily.
