I think it would be an exciting challenge to try and collage over a large-scale print/painting, like one you could find second hand! Take your skills to a new level and a new size!!
Beautiful! I love the way the circles radiate out from the violin. Maybe for another collage, you could incorporate fabric scrapes to substitute the lawn, the outfits, or the sky, etc. in the images.
Love the addition of the embroidery! I would like to see a few more with embroidery done in different ways that only you would think of! Surprise and delight us!
It looks so special - wow! You could use nature materials like dried (and because of that flat) leafs, blossoms, flowers, ivy, grass or the dry parts of dandelions. Maybe small twigs too.
I love how you used the stitching in this piece. The sound wave effect is marvellous. I'd be interested to see you incorporate texture paste into one of your collages if you feel led in that way. There's been some inspiring ideas suggested in the comments here!
I so enjoyed this. I've done. Mixed media collages using paints, stencils. Spackling with stamps like bricks and watercolors to drop through the crevices. Lace also makes a nice stencil.
I love the way this turned out. When I used to do scrapbooking I always added some sort of stitched detail to every page, maybe because I had come from a quilting background and just couldn't give up my love of stitching.
Hi l just wanted you to know you are such a lovely person to watch and l loved your easy going artistic spirit! Lovely collage of lady with violin l hope to use the embroidery elements in my collages thanks ❤
I love your ideas. I’ve been trying to combine interior decorating with animals- so these polished rooms are being used by animals. Mine are ok but yours would be awesome.
Rosie, you have blown my mind! I'm a new subscriber, having been recommended to your channel through someone on one of my gluebook FB groups. I started, and will continue, to watch your video about the 1950s Life magazine because I have some vintage magazines like that and wanted to see what you planned to do. Well, long story short, I got sidetracked a I am wont to do and saw this video. As I'm into embroidery, I got so excited about your plan and I just LOVE how it came out! First let me say, I grew up in the era of Monty Python and your brain could easily have contributed to their body of work, I kid you not. And yes, this indeed was high praise, Girlfriend!😉 Secondly, you and I think much alike artistically, so you have a new, diehard fan! This piece and how you came about putting it all together, is brilliant! I plan to work on some things in the new year incorporating paper collage and embroidery. And maybe even some embroidery that incorporates paper collage!😁❤
I recently got into collage as well and I'm so excited that I found your channel! This one turned out so good! I'm definitely going to experiment with embroidery too now :)
Love this! My favorite one yet! I don’t know how it would work, but weaving would be interesting. Maybe too much for paper to handle though? Love the embroidery and would love to see more of that if you enjoyed it.
Ooooh I've never tried paper weaving--great idea! I want to try the embroidery again and make an actual object with the thread. I will definitely do this again!
I've used paper weaving quite a lot in both collage and cardmaking. It's really fun and you can get some interesting effects depending on the types of paper you use.
Cmollages with moving elements would be cool. Like a tab that allows you to slide part of an image, or one on a pivot that allows it to spin. Or pop-up elements.
I’ve started added a little slow stitching to my mixed media art work so ran across this- love it! Have you done others with stitching? I’d love to see!
Before paper crafting tookmkver my life, I did beading and quilting. Paper quilting is quite fun and can make an effective background. You could add beads to highlight various areas or just to add some decoration. I just discovered your videos and I'm loving them.
Rosie! you are so amazing, you inspire me everytime i watch your video's. sometimes i've got lost in all my ideas and when i watch your video's , i come back to myself. this collage you've made is so amazing!! embroidery details into an artcollage!! it's so amazing. keep going, you are a big big inspiration to me
This is amazing! One of my favorites of yours. I also love how you take us through your thought process on each video. I recently learned about a one staple collage where you can only attach your images together on the page by using one staple. It is definitely a challenge on placement and layering!
I love, love, love this idea - Such an inspiring video - I am going to give it a go and see what I can create - Thank you so much for showing how you do this ❤.
Oh my goodness how lovely. Thank you. Best regards to you from South Africa. I’m definitely going to try this on a stunning insect linen style wallpaper for journal covers. Awesome! Can’t wait to try!
I loved this one!! You have such a cool imagination:) So happy I found your channel and can't wait to try this kind of paper collage! Thanks for sharing your fun art:)
I was thinking about other ideas and here is what I came up with: how about using vintage/antique ledger paper or sheet music? Tracing paper is really textural especially when you coffee or tea stain it, you could implement window envelopes or paper CD sleeves with the window. I've used these ideas in junk journal creation but not with collage. Also, you can purchase digital copies of vintage magazines on Etsy (cheating a little bit) but it's only about $2 and you can print out only what you want or need. How about letting us email or mail you say 5-10 pieces of collage fodder and then you create something from that? Or visa versa; you could put a group of 5-10 pieces in a FB or Instagram group and we download and print and create collages and then tag you? I totally apologize for my run on...it's part of what I do for a living. :D Keep the Creations Coming!
I don't know of any new ideas cause just learning. But I did think your tight rope lady might look cute as a marionette, with stitches being strings making her move.
How about trying to collage your own photos that you take purposefully for the collage. In other words, come up with the concept, photograph the individual elements and then collage them?
Thank you! It's called "Instant Weather Forecasting" by Alan Watts. Who knew anyone needed a book all about skies, but I'm so happy I stumbled upon it in a thrift store!
I just felt so self-conscious, not speaking art cartesian.. i want to talk. Watching the scores pile up. I can't go now. I have to stay for until i figure out which character type to put into my game universe with
I am a lilttle off base today. If I can't talk about things, then I'm wrong to be in this state. What I'm talking about is stress over my place in your life.
