Adding Fish to My Patio Pond! (Dalmatian & Balloon Mollies)

This week, join me as I finally add some new fish to my patio bowl pond! I chose a group of dalmatian mollies, lyretail balloon mollies, and lyretail black and gold mollies to put in my 30 gallon patio pond from Aquascape. I only have 2 tanks a 10 gallon with a few tropical fish in it and a 3 gallon with literally 1 ghost shrimp in it I’m hoping to get more colorful shrimp soon though

It's interesting to see a familiar fish literally from a new perspective when you add them to a pond. I didn't think mollies could look so elegant but I agree, they look like tiny goldfish when viewed from above. 😊

Turn the pots every week a little, in a few weeks there are beautiful leaves on every side. I don't wanna be negative but you r feeding very generous, that makes alge and bluealge( bacteria) Love your channel,always peacefull and as positive as it can get.✌🏻️from theNetherlands

I think you should produce a coloring book on Gold Fish. With the fishes that you like in Differant plants , rocks, wood and other decorations as well. with discriptions . I've always wanted a patio planter pond, but I live in Ohio. It would be kind of hard to work around the weather.....I love how you put yours together. It looks wonderful. I can't believe in just a few weeks, that the plants have grown so much. Also I've never been a big fish person, but those mollies are so cute. I could see myself enjoying them, talking to them......Any pets I get becomes my babies.....You done wonders with your yard pond too......I love it.

Lovely Mollies! Ramshorn snails are great, they don't overrun my tank personally, and they won't hurt the plants

I love mollies. I am raising about 30 fry right now of white mollies an they have such a personality. Whenever I sit down at my desk, they all come up to me to say hi. I always recommend mollies to beginners who want goldfish, because most customers just want a few gallons, and not the larger tanks it takes to hold multiple goldfish.

Both my wife and I, at the same time, voiced the Creeping Jenni is keeping the grass down. Consider pairing the grass with the big leaf plant and don't let the Creeping Jenni take roots into the leaf plants pot weather you move the grass or not. That Creeping Jenni will take over that bowl if not kept in check. Tks for staying gold =D

Ramshorn snails! I love them and have them in all my tanks. They have never been a problem for me despite all the horror stories you read and are beneficial in a lot of ways I think! You're going to have a lot of Mollys!

Guppy fish are perfect too!🐟 and the lemon tetra fish are also easy to raise and I like the fact that they always walk in groups 🐠👍🏻

I love Dalmation mollies, they were the first fish i ever kept. So neat and they have very interesting personalities and behaviors. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn a lot darker while in the pond, they tend to acclimate their colors to their environment. I had that with mine, bought them almost all white and they ended up completely black because of my black substrate. So interesting! Good choices :)

I love balloon mollies, even though they have health issues sometimes. I remember when I used to have dalmatian mollies and they would breed like crazy. There was always this dominant male in the tank who would chase everyone else, and they had their own pecking order!

OMG Yay! I've wanted fancy goldfish forever but I knew I wouldn't have the space or time to keep them healthy. About a year ago now some little squishy balloon mollies caught my eye as a cute lower maintenance alternative. I love them! They are adorable, I'm so glad you have got some now! I feel like a legit fish keeper now that you have them too! :D xx

Dalmatian mollies! I had one who would do "hide and seek" so he would get SO excited to see me and then Id move to another spot and he would look around until he saw me again and would get excited all over again

To help with the plants, just rotate the plants 1/4 turn every week and that will stop the leaning. Or put a grow light above the plants to help stop the branching. Also, you can help your live bearers by adding a little bit of aquarium salt in the water. They like it a little brackish. As for the urn back-splash, you can take a hot glue gun (nontoxic sticks) and create more of a rim or ridges to break up the flow to help direct the flow away from the rim of the lip. Or add draping plants coming out of the urn to help stop the splash. Hope that helps. :)

Omg same Jennie! I got 1 ballon and now I have 10! One of my females had 58 fry then another had 13 the day after. A week after that, my guppy gave birth! I’m over run by fry atm. My favorite out of mine is my sweet Gertrude. She the smallest must most human interactive and waits for me to come home just to beg for food. I love the balloon with the black spots!
