Dave love the videos. Have run into the NO neutral problem many times especially in older homes. Bathrooms seem the worst. Possible options. Run a Romex 3 wire to get the neutral from light back to your entry but lots of work. I would offer a not so permanent but legal many year option in this case. Tap onto the light by the furnace and put in a near box and duplex plug. MAKING a legal switched outlet off of the furnace light. AND a plug that could be used if none were available at the furnace. (Many only have the required furnace switch/fuse combo and no plug for tools.) A drop light cord could then be used hanging cord under onto joists. Back to to your door. BUT I would purchase a new 2-3 foot LED fixture and attach a cord with plug. Hang the light & cord to under your stairs or joists. NOT a permanent fixture but now just an extension cord with light. AND if you needed light in another corner of your crawl space you could move to use. Might check a PROBLEM? Ran into sensor light one time that vibrations from door slams made impractical due to the sensor "micro" motions. NOT sure how you wired the sensor light before of after the entry switch. A. Power on. The floor vibrations above may trigger the switch all the time. B. IF only on with the entry switch. Anyone going to work back on the furnace say for extended periods of repair MAY go past the sensor delay time and shut off until you crawl out.😀😃😁 Hope to meet U some day! PS might consider a VACANCY switch, MUST be turned on manually, no false starts. Sensor keeps on until it doesn't trigger any more.

I like when people fix things like the neutral instead of head in the sand. The complexes I work for put strict limits on such things instead of the extra man hour to fix things.... I'm assuming that box was a deep one so 20cu in? 2.25 times 6 plus 1 for grounds and 2 for the device? I call that about dead on for what "should" be in a box no one likes what we call a spider box!
