I made a goofy multiplayer game where you can fight your friends with physics based combat. Let me know what you think! I just made a discord! / discord twitter: / kbit3d
I think it would be cool if you had some sort of leveling up or power up system using the strength system in the previous devlog. It would make the game more unique and easily picking up and throwing my friends because I'm over leveled sounds really fun! Also a power up that makes you a giant with a lot of strength would be cool.
@@kbitdevthat's great to hear! I was definitely excited by the leveling up system. Do you think you'll experiment with NPC characters in the battle arena using the same code?
@@kbitdevagree! Also some sort of shopping upgrades system would be awesome. Maybe like a indiana jones type of grappler someone can use once per game to kind of get a second chance before falling off the rock! Another one could be an armor someone can attack where it takes an extra punch to knock them out!
I'd also recommend making the big guy in the back as a new model that is built like Wreck it Ralph (wide body with big lanky arms) to help differentiate him from the crowd more. Maybe give him a loin cloth or a skull helmet or both, so you can tell he's sort of the chief of the arena. As far as some polish, having a sound effect for when the stage is crumbling would be cool, just a rock cracking sound as it is fragmenting followed by a louder rock ripping sound when the piece finally lets go
This is so cool, I wish I could make a multiplayer game just like that. I have some feedback even though this is technically just a prototype. The only thing is the colours, like the audience is the same colour as the players and the island the players fight on blends into the background: - I think the colour of the audience should be random between black, white and grey or at least lower the saturation on them. This means players can focus easily on where other players are. - The island should be darker, and the chunks should become lighter when they are about to fall off or flash red. This makes the island *pop* against the light background meaning players know where the edges of the island are alot more easily. However the islands that the audience are on can stay light. I think these little changes would add some nice visual clarity, just my opinion and preferences though! Looks so fun and would love to see it get updated.
Sounds Like a game I would play. Only one thought, maybe you could make the crowd have less visually attracting colours so the attention isn’t being led away from the actual fight. You could maybe like colour them gray or somlething
You should add a gladiator mode where you and your friends fend off against the opposing opponents, maybe even bosses included! (And also an excuse to add weapons and armors)
Ehh i think armor and weponds would kinda make the game worse i think something more then the normal power system would be good but i see this is a creative idea and going to the normal ,,add weponds,, gimic wouldent be good maiby you cant "lvl up" past a sertain point and you need a thingy to up youre max lvl also i think once your high enouth lvl you can start breaking some stuff like some bushes the trees maiby rocks andaiby evan start morthing the ground arownd you with punches or landings/jumps would give the pleyer think they have more power evan tho by the point you could destroy or evan just damage them you could easily jump over them expecialy the rocks but the ground teraforming part would still be good
Another way to incentivize fighting is to give buffs or upgrades to players that knock out and/or eliminate players (strength, speed, recovery, etc.). So that when the person that was hiding the entire game 1v1s the final person, it is in favor of the more active player.
Your idea is great but what I find even more exciting is the amount of polish. I did work on my own ragdoll game before your first video and just how much better your ragdolls work is amazing. I would love to see a more detailed video on the legs. The movement looks so good. It's the hardest part to get right from my testing. Your project is amazing keep up the good work.
I loved that you made it multiplayer, but in your last video my favorite part was picking up enemies and throwing them! Might add some depth to the game if there are different AI enemies around the map too, you can beat them up and throw them at other players. Also, another solution for the players hiding problem that might be interesting, if you added in the strength mechanic again, so you want to be up others as fast as possible to build up your strength, so when it gets to a 1v1 you'll be stronger then them! This would work well with the AI enemies. Great work! :)
looks cool af man! you could make the more players you throw the bigger and stronger you get, if you die a lot you go back to the original size. you could also make the rock different sizes depending on the size of the players so they can grab it and use it as a weapon by throwing it making it randomly adapt to the size of a player and you could make it different objects like a rocket that flies all over the place, or an ice cube that when you throw it leaves a puddle that players slip on if they step on it or things like that amazing work!
Cool. Very cool. I would recommend making the plataform segment color permanently changing after it breaks appart. Making random audience not as one brain, but add a slim random delay between them. I would also make the whole audience being what throws at you that, not a single giant one.
Holly shit man you're awesome! That's a really cool game. The fighting aspect in a physics based game is something I always wanted and now in multiplayer so its perfect.
Take this comment as a grain of salt, I had an idea for your game, maybe add a spell or special attack so this game stands out more from games like gang beasts, rubber bandits, etc. Either way I am loving your game!😊
@@mirelaene5187so a generic game that is kinda of a copy of gang Beasts or fall guys is better than something more unique i don't understand what you were thinking
@@mirelaene5187i think the game looks like way too much like other games so i don't understand what you mean It would lose some uniqueness by having spells
So funny to see them flop when punched. Maybe add a dodging system the way boxers kinda bob and weave to avoid punches. Add some strategy for throwing counter punches.
Maybe make it so the big guy throws weapons like that black hole to players when they knock people out or keep the crowd entertained for a certain amount of time
this is a really cool idea and your doing a good job at making a game but can you add more levels or even make it more open worlded with weapons sorry if you hear this alot but it could be really cool with swords and ax's and other weapons
Hello, big fan i’m a big fan😅😊 checking daily if you posted a new vid, super excited for multiplayer, but what if you can’t play with friends? You could also keep the singelplayer mode, and maybe make the rock colapse slower or start bigger!
Get yourself some powerups/items. Some more moves like jumping, grabbing, or kicking like being able to grab the opponent or to grab the ledge and pull yourself up and being able to do kicks and the ability to do jump kicks, and jumping dives/punches. Some sounds from the crowd that goes beyond emoting. More randomized destruction in the stage shrinking. Maybe some new stages. And a settings option for the ability to change how the fight is handled like being able to turn off or on certain things like stage destruction, or stage hazards. And even having more victory options to choose from like who has the most downs before time runs out, or a stock/lives system or heck a gamemode not about fighting like Soccer. I know I am going abit overboard but I am just throwing ideas into the pot. Just remember though don't force a timed fight allow the option for sandbox fighting as gang beasts failed here by forcing a time limit in every fight with no ability on the players side to turn on or off said time limit and Id feel such games would be better if you allow that option.
hey i'm following you since the first videos i can't wait to play the game, but can you keep the single player mode also please? it looked so much fun!
Hey, make the character utilize their torso to throw the punch more and more as they progress. You could also make different punches to be unlocked as the strenght of the character grows, such as a hook, overhand, superman punch and the jab (which already is the default). If the enemies used those punches, the character being able to dash/block would be good as to make the game's combat more spicy.
This is actually a really smart and cool idea, the simple combat mixed with the crowd and falling blocks creates a really cool gameplay loop. Cant wait to play!
Another fun idea for the hiding players could be to make them easier to knockout/have a lighter rag doll that gets knocked further when they get hit, so the longer someone avoids fighting the more likely they are to die once someone finds and attacks them. That way people still get the satisfaction of dying by their friends but it still disincentives unfun strategies. A small indicator over their head could show how much this "coward meter" has built up and it gets used up once they get hit!
I think a similar outcome would happen if the strength system being used in the first develog gets used in multiplayer. The hiding player will never get stronger if they don't get involved in the combat, and thus will be more easily beat when the combatants find them
I wish Kbit would release a play testing version of this game for everyone! Once I saw this on RU-vid, I wanted it right away because of how fun and cool it looked! But it does not have a demo nor play test, I'm sad that no one can play the game because this game looks like the best. I'm very serious that this game looks like the best game ever, but Kbit HAS GOT TO RELEASE A PLAYTESTING VERSION!
So I want to say that i enjoyed the first part so i wish it would have 2 game modes single player and multiplayer,of course single player featuring devlog 1 type of campaign or something like Vampire Survival, where after a certain knock outs you get an upgrade...also for multiplayer i have an ideea but you may want to make the arena bigger for this one, i thought of something like the game Rounds, win twice to get a point(when a player gets a point other "half points" are removed)and the players that didn't get the point get an upgrade, stronger punches, resilience, special abilities you name it
i hope there would be a "story mode" or a wave based gamemode like in gang beasts but more content (also if your actually gonna release this i hope there would be modding since many games like this dont have modding support)
not fully through the video, but if it doesn't happen later (as in later in the video) i think adding a set amount of time before the chunks start falling of would be a good idea, to give players time to fight and have the match develop before the chaos of falling rocks ensue.
it would be cool if you could grab stuff like gang beasts. you could throw stuff and players. you could also hold onto the rock if you fall. to make it so people dont just chill on the side of the rock make it so you can only hold onto somthing for a certain time.
Unity recently announced its Pay-per-install business model going forward. Seeing as you've made strides with working physics and multiplayer on Unity, do you plan to change engine?
