Aaron, I might suggest a idea or nine/LOL. The bolt that you ran through is a great idea, so lets improve on it. Drill a hair larger hole through the head of it and then it will come out on the bottom missing the threads.... top to bottom so a longer quarter by twenty thread screw will go clear through it and put the nut on its bottom end. Using fender washers from the many different sizes available, tighten up like a phillips head screw from the top squeezing that rubber with the fender washer just under screw head...... lets try this, start with a phillips screw longer than the bolt holding the grill in that has a hole drilled from the top down and comes out on the bottom of the bolt...... so screw, washer on it then the rubber to be tightened, then stick it through that bolt head we try to hide as well as make our self a bumper stop... put the little nut on that screw and tighten it till the rubber protrudes above the screw head. U could of used the bolt that broke in first place to stick a rubber on it the same way. Its closer to original looking is all. Nice work so far. I like Milwaukee tools better as well but none of them work if you don't care for them, Mikes got too much on his mind and so he won't yell at you guys and fear loosing you all for his little hitler attitude. Given any day someone can be right or wrong and so he pitches it at his wife who loves him or would of full foot ran from the abuse. I love Mike to death but treating your lady wrong doesn't stand up well
LOL Aaron, I don't know how many times you gave DP grief about his SAFETY CROCKS and here you are in your own shop wearing SAFETY FLIPS FLOPS. Always good to see another video buddy. Stay safe
That is THEE best look Sportster I ever seen. Seriously. Da-Ham that's got a perddy mouf. LOL😂🤣😂 The 69 ain't to bad either, it's clean and has great lines. My dad had a 66 Ford kinda had the same used dipper green color.
The new bumper and grill makes a world of difference on the front end of the truck, Some times it,s unfortunate that taking a old truck apart shit breaks but hey you can fix that right up. Love that color hope you paint it with a patina Finnish in mind.
Love the new chrome! Next time Mr. Perfect says anything about height remind him about lack of oxygen in the higher atmosphere! You can't think straight, brain cells burn out, you essentially go whacko! My old helper used this on me all the time me at 6'3" he was 5'4" and we banter back and forth all the time...lol.
Lovin the bullfrog impersonation at 3mins 11secs Aaron 😂, & lovin the fact that you took dp’s toys off of him till he learns to play nice😂, comin along good mate, keep the vids comin please 👍

The truck will come along. Slowly but surely, she'll come along. I was eyeing down the chopper and the harley. Once the rainy season passes, you'll have nice weather to ride. Dang, that rain shower turned into a down pour. Okay, now that Beau's there, now you'll be able to get some serious work done. Man, that bumper and grille sure made the truck front look dang good. Enjoyed a full-watch. 👍🏽🙂
for the hood stop you could wielded the washer to top the bolt and it been just fine & those are to adjust the hood when closed also so you match the hood fenders and grill all even !
The hood stops look like adjustable feet off of a dryer lol. Looking good Aaron. It's going to be a Bute. 👊. Put a glob of silicone on that bolt head for protection. Ok that all I have from the couch lol 😂😂😂
Good to see you making videos my friend that was A very smart I deal Fixing the broken bolt under the hood good thinking The truck is looking pretty sharp keep up the good work on it let me tell you something over there on dirt Perfect Channel you are the best one on the videos with him y’all too work good together A man you are One good welder you are doing a fantastic job on that equipment y’all are building keep up the good work my friend and be safe
Nice job Aaron, coming together nicely. Patience is the key here Aaron, slow and steady wins the rust game. Chopper looks comfortable 🤗 Looks like you got plenty to do around there, enjoy the time with your little buddy/helper 👍🇺🇸
I am liken the 69, it’s going to look great when you are done. Looking forward to seeing it finished. When you work with older things, one just naturally should expect things to break or deform and you came up with a pretty good solution on the head on the hood stop. Thanks for the vid young man.
We always just made new hood bumpers and welded the nut back in by drilling a couple holes above it, fill them in and grind them down if needed since the grill shell covers it anyway.
southern kentucky classics . older truck parts in bowling green ky . not that far from u . they will have everything u need to restore that truck . including hardwear . clips bolts ,window tracks seals everything
Have a great week man! Sound is good! If you are going to have it painted you might save a bit by taking all the outside parts off first and or don't put them on yet!
you like doing it the old way you should have a hammer impact that you hit with a hammer is what i use because i dont have air impact for nuts or screws
Bo may be a bit shy about chasing girls in that pickup now… let’s see what he thinks when he turns 16… He’ll have a babe magnet! Those hood stops were plentiful in the junkyards of my youth! But… by now, they are as rusted as my grandpa’s old crosscut saw! My first encounter with hood stops was when I was about 14. The neighbor had just rebuilt an old Chevy sedan… I think maybe ‘52? He had taken the hood off to do the engine work. While I was over there talking, I was spinning the rubber thingy. I didn’t have a clue what it was and he wasn’t paying attention to what I was doing. Well, it came out. So, I kinda screwed it into the hole. But, it wouldn’t turn. So, I grabbed a pair of slip jaw pliers and commenced to booger up the threads as i wrenched on them with the pliers. On top of that, I had it cross threaded. So, I only had the tip of it in a couple of turns. But, with my level of mechanical knowledge it looked fine to me. A few weeks later, he was over at the house. I listened as he explained to my dad that getting the hood adjusted was almost as much of a job as the rest of the overhaul. He tweaked the hood trying to force it to latch. Once he figured out that one of the stops was way too high, he had a heck of a time getting the bolt out. In fact he said he stripped the threads in the process. Then he had to borrow a tap and go to the junkyard to get a new stop. He said it took him all day to just put the hood on. They never looked my way so I never interrupted their conversation. And, just like that, I learned my first lesson on hood stops! Bud, for a non mechanical item, those hood stops can be a whole education in auto mechanics!
Hey buddy sorry just getting back to you! Ain’t had much time off but I bet you were sweating bullets at that moment when he was talking about they hood stop lol but hey your still alive so he never found out lol hope you are doing well 🤙🏻
