Without texture a room can feel flat and cold. Wabi-sabi is a concept that stems from Taoism and Zen and has become something that can influence our lifestyles and the way we choose to create our space at home. The meaning of wabi-sabi can be a difficult thing to pin down, and see the link below to some of my other videos where I deeper the concept of wabi-sabi, but simply put...

Thank you so much for the video. I really love the idea of adding a flower to your vase to represent the season. Today I bought a new wooden bowl to hold keys etc. I'm sure it will look old and scratched in no time 🙂

I'm glad you liked it. Keep it simple and let the small things stand out. That wooden bowl sounds like it will get scratched and smooth out soon enough. Nice!

Another good video. We have bought many coffee mugs and pottery from local independent potters at our farmers market. It makes drinking coffee much more enjoyable. You do mention some great points about the interior and how wabi sabi is used. I would love to visit a pottery village in Japan at some point and that has to be an enjoyable part of your business. Cheers

I definitely like the concept, but it’s my challenge to find stuff with character and age, like the pottery, but doesn’t make my house look old.

That balance can definitely be a tricky thing to pull off!
